She had a stillborn baby at home last year (completely unexpected), when the ambulance turned up they called the police and she was treated as a criminal in the most vulnerable and traumatic time of her life. How’s that dramatic?!

Poor woman, poor family.

It’s just heartbreaking. Her strength really is admirable

Disgusting actions by the paramedics.

It is dramatic when the police turn up when she’s losing her kid. As in lots of general drama/chaos

loobylou10 · 20/05/2026 19:02

@LiviaDrusillaAugusta ‘dramatic’ really? Her husband died of a brain tumour and she lost her son to still birth a year ago with her new partner. The police were called and the room her son was born in was labelled a ‘crime scene’.

VIII · 20/05/2026 19:04

Wow that's a harrowing read. They took him off her, declared it a crime scene and claimed they hadn't seen a still born baby before. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Just awful. The fact they didn’t allow her to hold her son properly and didn’t allow her partner to at all is horrendous 💔

I agree. She’s literally just given birth to a stillborn baby, and she’s told her home is a potential crime scene.

just horrendous

Why did they suspect something ?

The whole thing sounds surreal

Apparently the paramedics had “never seen a stillborn baby” before and so called the police.

It’s awful. Absolutely awful

Okay so trained paramedics had never seen a stillborn? Seems very strange. Of course they would have.

VIII · 20/05/2026 20:25

LiviaDrusillaAugusta don't you think it's quite distasteful to be arguing against this women's own words. She was there, you were not. Maybe you should step away from the thread if you don't believe her own account of what she went through.

I’m not disbelieving her. I doubting the paramedics were telling the truth about never seeing a stillborn.

TurtleGroove · 20/05/2026 20:41

I don’t imagine many still born, full term babies are born outside of a hospital setting - so no I don’t think it’s that hard to believe that that one crew had never seen a still born baby.

That poor family - I can’t imagine they’ll ever recover from that trauma.

Jellybunny98 · 20/05/2026 20:43

It is really just awful, that poor woman has been through so so much, my heart breaks for her and her family.

I’m surprised they weren’t trained in this situation. And would that be the time to call the police in any case? Even if it was a crime scene surely the priority is to get the woman to hospital.

Bloody useless.

You’d have hoped they’d at least cover it in their training so that situations like this don’t occur though

Exactly. It’s concerning that medical professionals called for an emergency and finding a woman who had just had a stillbirth would call the police before taking her to hospital and making sure she is physically okay .

Even in the case of genuine crime scene, surely the priority is getting anyone medical care that needs it?

I hope they get sacked

I’m more concerned by the cold hearted evil response of sending a mother who has just gone through the trauma of delivering what she thought to be a health baby, only to discover they were a stillborn, to the maternity unit without her baby. How abhorrent

Her interview this morning was heartbreaking. She was treated like a criminal. Really harrowing for her and nobody has apologized to her or admitted that they were wrong. I can’t believe that a paramedic wouidnt know that this was a genuine case and she needed help and she didn’t get it. Really awful.
