my girl is just over 3 years old and have a bit of a hard time with using her and she as pronouns correctly.. she refers to everyone as she but she can make complex sentences like “ mommy do you remember when I got stuck on the little slide at the park ? .. she is fine with the other pronouns but I can’t seem to be able to help her regardless of how many times I correct her ..
how normal is that in neurotypical kids

Did you start Page 3 | Help me | Mumsnet, @TheLilacmum ?

Yes that will be her. Name changes frequently (though I'm not sure why as her posts are very obvious) and will always post long lists of completely normal toddler behaviour and then ask if her daughter is neurotypical.

I find it very sad because at the middle of it is what appears a very healthy young child who's mother is relentless in her obsession for her to be NT. The child's been told she won't cope with school, dragged to umpteen professionals and a mother who over analyses and critiques every single interaction. I absolutely dread to think what it will do to this child's self worth and self esteem.

Here's a link to another recent post and on page 5, further links to a small number of threads she's posted over the years

She's 3! Very very normal.

My 5 year old still uses him and he for boys and girls. Very rare he says she. I’m not worried I know he’ll learn it eventually

Unabletosleep · 21/05/2026 06:41

Correctly using pronouns in writing is a y3/4 expectation. 7-9 year old. Stop worrying about your 3 year old.

Edited for typo

FFS 🙄

My 3 year old refers to everyone as he or him regardless of sex. I'm not at all concerned as he's only 3. I'm sure he'll grasp she and her at some point 🤷‍♀️
