Such a big ugly mug but with potential, bit like me really. All suggestions welcome. I have enemies if it helps

Love them. Saves me getting up for another coffee.

araiwa · 06/05/2026 10:25

Tea

Moveoverdarlin · 06/05/2026 10:26

The bin. Acceptable in an office for a cab firm or builders yard. But no fucking way would it see the light of day in my house.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 06/05/2026 10:26

Plant pot?

ThreeB · 06/05/2026 10:27

Pen holder

ThejoyofNC · 06/05/2026 10:27

The bin. I am aware this sounds insane but I couldn't enjoy my drink from such a monstrosity.

mummybearSW19 · 06/05/2026 10:28

Make tea in it for the builder or bin men

Flamingojune · 06/05/2026 10:59

Never seen one

frecklejuice · 06/05/2026 11:04

If you use it for tea or coffee is it not luke- warm or cold by the time you reach the bottom?!

Absolutely no place for it except the bin or maybe a charity shop!

CoastalCalm · 06/05/2026 11:13

Smashed up and used to line a plant pot

Potatoelephant · 06/05/2026 11:15

To heat up beans in the microwave

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 06/05/2026 11:24

Keep your false teeth in it.

chocolateaddictions · 06/05/2026 11:26

lol. We use it as a pen pot - think it’s in DS’s room.

Threesloths · 06/05/2026 11:27

Toothbrush mug?

Absolutely this

tiramisugelato · 06/05/2026 11:29

Ours is used to store random bits in the cupboard so they don’t get lost or keep falling out. Or to put gravy in at Christmas.

Logika · 06/05/2026 11:30

Offer it on FB for free. When no one wants it, bin it with impunity.

The only other thing I can think of is put it inside a tall drawer (so it's hidden) and use it to store spatulas etc upright. Marie Kondo would approve of the upright storage, but would disapprove of keeping something that brings so little joy.

I received one recently with and order and contacted them to ask to return it - not for a refund (it was free) but because I don’t want their clutter in my house and don’t want to go to the effort of finding a way of getting rid of it without it going to landfill.

Their first response was than it was a “thoughtful gift”. I pointed out it wasn’t thoughtful, clearly, since I didn’t want it.

They then said they couldn’t accept a return because it would be dangerous for their warehouse staff to handle ceramics. Clearly they haven’t considered the safety of their customers when sending “dangerous” items without warning.

I accept the level of annoyance I feel is irrational, but I make a deliberate effort to keep my house clutter free and to only have things that I like and are useful in it, plus I don’t have a lot of spare time for donating mugs to charity (as they suggested I do with it).

I plan to hand it over at a Sports Direct shop next time I’m near one.

KellyJonesLeatherTrousers · 06/05/2026 12:10

We use them for chocolate microwave mug cakes, yum!

InterestedDad37 · 06/05/2026 12:12

Give it to me. I covet one. But I have no reason to go to Sports Direct, and I can't find a mug of a similar size. I could use a bucket, but it might make my tea a bit plasticky (or metal-y).

NotYoCheese · 06/05/2026 14:15

Plant pot for a Runner Bean 😉

WorthySloth · 06/05/2026 14:18

Love mine for vats of green tea all day. Keeps me nicely hydrated. If I could find a nice mug same size I would use that instead.

AllaMova · 06/05/2026 14:18

Have a craft session and paint it. Then use it to store pens or make-up brushes?
