Such a big ugly mug but with potential, bit like me really. All suggestions welcome. I have enemies if it helps

Smashed up and used to line a plant pot

This is the best suggestion

Mumpre · 06/05/2026 18:57

Utensil holder. That's what i use it for !!

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 06/05/2026 18:59

They hold a whole tin of soup, so I use them for that, straight in the microwave, only one thing to wash up!

I read that as penis breaker, it would still work

I really want to donate ours because I hate it, but DH says he likes it because of it's size.

I eye it with displeasure every time I open the mug cupboard.

Allthesnowallthetime · 06/05/2026 19:02

@Hatty65 a big mug like that could easily fall out of the cupboard and get broken accidentally...

passwordchanges · 06/05/2026 19:04

Drinking out of. Literally the perfect size for a coffee to keep you going all morning.

If you use it for tea or coffee is it not luke- warm or cold by the time you reach the bottom?!

Absolutely no place for it except the bin or maybe a charity shop!

Edited

Yes, it is. It's way too big.

Once in a blue moon I'll have a uniquely sublime cup of tea which leaves me with the dilemma of either drinking it all down at the perfect temperature, or savouring it a little longer. I'd never get that with a Sports Direct mug.

The only use I can see for it is flushing a broken loo.

I’d imagine it would be replaced rather quickly, with a shiny new one

The charity shop.

Jungfraujoch · 06/05/2026 19:07

Bin - no other options.

threescoops · 06/05/2026 19:07

I find it’s the perfect size for holding a couple of bunches of fresh herbs in water in the kitchen

A water bowl for cats, they seem to like a big mug ( or any of my unattended mugs, cups, glasses!)

This is actually a fantastic solution for my cats. Hopefully they don’t fall in

I’d donate it to the staff kitchen at work, they’re ghastly looking and wouldn’t have a place in my house 😂 and yes, my family call me hyacinth bouquet 😂
I don’t drink tea or coffee though so never use mugs anyway, dh has some preferred mugs and no one else here drinks hot drinks so we have a small collection of what are deemed appropriate guest mugs and that’s it.

BethBynnag86 · 06/05/2026 19:19

Soaking paintbrushes.

Do you mean throw it in the bin or use it as a bin?!

I use mine for cooking - whisking eggs for scrambled eggs, making gravy, heating soup/beans in the microwave.

It actually quite handy as it’s not too big and it’s got the handle to hold onto when whisking etc.

Ilovemyshed · 06/05/2026 20:13

Smash it and use it for crocks in a plant pot

MyNameIsTina · 06/05/2026 20:53

Plunge pool

Nushi21 · 06/05/2026 21:01

We got one gifted in a nice box from sport direct when i ordered some trainers for my child. My husband claimed it. God knows here he’s put it.

on the subject of mugs, my 11 year old has this thing of buying us mugs from his school trips. The mugs are as ugly as they come and he uses his spending money. I tell him not to but now I have a connection from around Europe

FuriousInventions · 06/05/2026 21:20

I use mine for warming a full tin of beans in the microwave, then eating said beans from. Only one thing to wash up!

PickAChew · 06/05/2026 21:21

In the bottom of plant pots for drainage.
