Felicity Jones as far as I know has not got famous contacts or parents. She went to my old school kings Norton girls ,a comprehensive . Now a Hollywood actress!

There are people in the UK who were educated privately and do normal jobs. I know one who is a nurse and another who works in HR (admittedly for a large corporation and is very well paid). That doesn’t mean private education doesn’t offer an advantage due to small class sizes, more tailored teaching and, more importantly, fostering connections.

Some of these privately educated actors may not be from a rich industry family themselves, but they are well connected (they likely went to school with someone who knows someone…).

Yes I have seen it at local government too - tends to be children of the director /chief exec level as the rest of us have to play by the rules .
But they come in to an admin role fresh from uni then magically get promoted swiftly into roles that are often created for them . Or people are bullied out of jobs so the Nepo baby can take their place
