What phrases do you hate? It gives me the rage when my mum says put up and shut up. I know that some things are not within my control and that i have to do things i don't like.

‘Hits differently’. Or ‘it just hits differently’. It’s everywhere now and I hate it. Agree with pp about ‘obsessed with’.

dailyconniptions · 07/05/2026 18:11

Swap out when it's just swap.

Excited for when it's excited ABOUT. (If you're 5 years old.) Generally adults would simply be looking forward to something.

Elbowpatch · 07/05/2026 18:18

“Dropped” when something is released or made available. It is ambiguous and unnecessary.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 07/05/2026 19:54

Not lighthearted! Since I’ve just seen it on here, ‘step’ foot, instead of ‘set’ foot.🤬
WTF is the matter with people? It doesn’t even make sense. I honestly want to slap people who say/write this.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 08/05/2026 13:48

I can't stand the current whine (often seen on FB) "make it make sense". Especially when it does make sense within the context that said whiner has chosen to overlook.

TigerRag · 08/05/2026 16:44

I was today years old, usually when they've learnt something

MyLilacBeaker · 08/05/2026 17:57

Guesstimating is the worst!

Triskellion75 · 08/05/2026 19:26

Crotch goblins.

Currently nonstop on MAFS Aus: “you’re my ride or die”. FUCK. OFF.

I thought this was just me. It makes me feel violent. 😬

Triskellion75 · 08/05/2026 19:26

Crotch goblins.

I hadn't heard of that so just looked it up.

Disgusting 😠

It is, isn't it? I'm not in any way refined but it's so vile and vulgar.

When people use words like that they think they're being clever and/or humorous.
They aren't.

Connachtfive · 09/05/2026 10:11

My bad. Drives me mad 😡

TheGemsIllBeThereNSoul · 09/05/2026 10:12

As does my truth

NimbleHiker · 30/04/2026 17:54

People who say in my day we just coped.

Depends how old they are. I reckon if you were born before the start of the NHS that’s just true.

'No problem' in reply to thanks literally gives me the rage 😂

100% for "yes"

Well, true of those who are alive now. Plenty didn't cope, but they didn't live into their late 70s, so aren't around to comment now.

Funnywonder · 10/05/2026 10:54

This may not be as lighthearted I suppose, but saying ‘My child is ASD’ or ‘My husband is ADHD.’ I wince every time I read this!

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 11/05/2026 19:47

Triskellion75 · 08/05/2026 19:26

Much better than the "Semen Demon" term that I've seen on here before 🤮
