AIBU to think Tattle Life should be shut down following Dr Jessica Taylors forensic research?

TheWorthySeal · 18/04/2026 12:59

Dr Jessica Taylor has produced research that has shown tattle life relentlessly bullied, stalked, trolled and harassed a 16 year old child until she took her own life.

Isn't it time it was shut down?

A very brave article on the metro covers it well metro.co.uk/2026/04/18/upset-this-picture-a-young-girl-trolled-stalked-abused-28001760/

A lot of the replies here are avoiding the actual point.

Nobody is saying public figures can’t be criticised. The point is that Tattle turns criticism into fixation: constant threads, “receipts”, wiki pages, repeated speculation, and a culture where users convince themselves they are doing something useful while monitoring strangers for sport.

“I didn’t contact anyone” is beside the point. If a site repeatedly creates an atmosphere where offline consequences are foreseeable, the environment itself is part of the problem.

Also, “other sites are bad” is a childishly bad defence. If X, Reddit and Tattle all enable unhealthy behaviour, then they can all be criticised.

You do not have to think Jess is right about everything to recognise that a platform built around obsessive group contempt is not healthy.

I think exposing grifters and fraudsters is useful.

NameChangeScot · 18/04/2026 17:38

One of the rules of tattle is not to take it off tattle. If you are found to be messaging or troll any of the people being discussed on there you are swiftly warned and removed. Is it not better to have it contained to the site than creators being targetted directly?
People don't have to go in there and read there threads, they have to be members to do so anyway, so then are they too part of the problem.

It's not a troll site at all but somewhere to expose the lies, deciet of 'creators' and exploitation of children who can't consent to being online. To censor that sets a dangerous precedent.

Arguable some of what happens on Mumsnet is even more toxic.

and OP isn’t criticising Tattle, she’s saying it should be shut down. Slight difference.

Mumsnet members can be horrible to each other. Tattle bitch about and expose celebs and influencers.

Mumsnet is worse in that respect.

PonyPatter44 · 18/04/2026 18:09

Also, "forensic" does not mean what JT thinks it means.

Forgot to add:

This is vile.

Good grief, that awful, who has the mindset to take a photo like that at anyone’s funeral?

We have an “influencer” not far from us, most of the things said about her on Tattle Life are true and she hates the site. She’s locally known as the clout goblin and every time her views are down she rolls our her non verbal child, It’s horrible to watch.

All about those click and views for cash.

We had an influencer at school aswell out and out scammer would openly admit she was paid to write reviews for items or things she has never had done. Would write a review for say a bbq she never opened got the cash and then sold the brand new bbq as well.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 18/04/2026 19:08

This post again?

All this does is direct people to the site to read all about Taylor.

Aluna · 18/04/2026 19:16

Well we can see who Tattle Lifers are on here.

It’s basically where all the fucked up trolls go to troll together. I don’t care who this Jessica person or what she’s done, Tattle Life should be shut down.

Who is a bigger grifter than Sebastian Bond?

Feel free to explain how he’s a grifter and what you think he’s done wrong. But don’t try to stop other people exposing grifters and fraudsters.

I think we all know this girl is being used to present a more sympathetic face to the real complaint - people on tattle say unkind things about celebrities and onfluencers.

Not only is it disgusting to use someone's tragedy to further a ludicrous agenda, I think the obsession with tattle being the worst site on the Internet, they should be jailed, it must go etc etc...

Is fucking disgusting. Disgusting.

There are sites on the Internet that show death. Rape. Assaults. That show children being abused. There are sites that cater to every form of depravity, sites that specialise in all forms of crimes. There are scam sites that con people out of every penny they own and leave them destitute and, frankly, it is obscene to wang on aboutahow a small group of people saying things a different small group of people don't like is the worst thing that happens on the Internet.

Perspective. Go out and buy an absolute fuckton of it.

This. I have no hate towards Jess Taylor (I find she highlights causes that are really important) but this just seems like using a child’s death for a dubiously moral political agenda.

go after you porn. That’s the one with child trafficking victims. We’d all be cheering you on then

I wish I had a tattle code 😂😂 if you know someone who has one hit me up 😉

I once read a MN thread were someone was encouraging another user to poison the next-door neighbours child, because they had taken some chocolate. They were egged on by other users.

Seem a lot on Tattle, never seen anyone encouraged to harm children.

Are you saying they were genuinely encouraging this? Genuinely? As in it is your belief that posters were trying to pressure someone into harming a child in real life?

I ask because if i read something like that, i would assume people were not being serious. Much like when someone is saying they are going to kill their partner / child / boss.

Yes, they were genuinely encouraging this behaviour … so said child got the shits to “teach them a lesson”

The irony of someone posting about a toxic online arena in AIBU 🤔

You get identical posts on here about switching out the Cadbury's for Ex-Lax. Not seen any over there with posters claiming that they poison cats and dogs because they hate them so much like I have here, though.

And Reddit and Mumsnet plus other sites don’t 😂😂😂

I mean Mumsnet even had indecent child images shared I do believe.

There’s plenty of positive, well-modded forums on Reddit, and MN is not all AIBU, tho I think Tattle-Life has had its impact on the general deterioration of behaviour on MN particularly AIBU.

Tattle members are nice to each other. Other forums members are definitely not.

Tattle rips Celebs scams apart. Not other members lives and heartbreaks. Mumsnet and Reddit and a certain farm and other places take great pleasure in ripping each other apart.

MargoChanningsglass · 18/04/2026 20:53

Allseeingallknowing · 18/04/2026 14:54

Don’t agree. Tattle is far worse. A lot of posters on Tattle would be banned on other forums for their vicious, hateful possibly libellous posts.

Bollox

I was ripped to pieces in here asking for help and support at an awful time.

That awful hateful Tattle off topic advice was full of support and advice.

They dont like grifters and influencers who use their kids and whine when earning money from social media bit dont want criticism.

"Dr Jessica" is a charlatan.

No it doesn’t rip scams apart, they hardly need ripping in any case. Tattle bullies influencers because the posters have depressing lives and they need someone to kick.
