A lot of the replies here are avoiding the actual point.
Nobody is saying public figures can’t be criticised. The point is that Tattle turns criticism into fixation: constant threads, “receipts”, wiki pages, repeated speculation, and a culture where users convince themselves they are doing something useful while monitoring strangers for sport.
“I didn’t contact anyone” is beside the point. If a site repeatedly creates an atmosphere where offline consequences are foreseeable, the environment itself is part of the problem.
Also, “other sites are bad” is a childishly bad defence. If X, Reddit and Tattle all enable unhealthy behaviour, then they can all be criticised.
You do not have to think Jess is right about everything to recognise that a platform built around obsessive group contempt is not healthy.
