AIBU to think Tattle Life should be shut down following Dr Jessica Taylors forensic research?

TheWorthySeal · 18/04/2026 12:59

Dr Jessica Taylor has produced research that has shown tattle life relentlessly bullied, stalked, trolled and harassed a 16 year old child until she took her own life.

Isn't it time it was shut down?

A very brave article on the metro covers it well metro.co.uk/2026/04/18/upset-this-picture-a-young-girl-trolled-stalked-abused-28001760/

OP posts:

I also think that the smoke and mirrors world of "influencing" needs a counterpoint and sites like tattle are therefore important for balance.

It's done a good job of exposing grifters and liars even if I don't like how far some of the posters go . I wouldnt choose to use the site myself but I don't think it should be shut down

WinterBlues26 · 18/04/2026 14:05

What happened to the Belfast couple trying to get it shut down via the courts? Is this the same OP?

Worrieddancemum · 18/04/2026 14:06

Jess Taylor is dangerous, and a fraud.

Princess was very unwell mentally, and had a difficult childhood. If you read the actual threads, they are all very supportive of her. No one bullied her on tattle

Error404FucksNotFound · 18/04/2026 14:06

I think we all know this girl is being used to present a more sympathetic face to the real complaint - people on tattle say unkind things about celebrities and onfluencers.

Not only is it disgusting to use someone's tragedy to further a ludicrous agenda, I think the obsession with tattle being the worst site on the Internet, they should be jailed, it must go etc etc...

Is fucking disgusting. Disgusting.

There are sites on the Internet that show death. Rape. Assaults. That show children being abused. There are sites that cater to every form of depravity, sites that specialise in all forms of crimes. There are scam sites that con people out of every penny they own and leave them destitute and, frankly, it is obscene to wang on aboutahow a small group of people saying things a different small group of people don't like is the worst thing that happens on the Internet.

Perspective. Go out and buy an absolute fuckton of it.

PhoebeBuffay1234 · 18/04/2026 14:10

Admittedly I didn’t read the full threads over there, but after seeing a similar post to yours on here a week or so ago, I went and had a look at the latest two. I only skim read but from what I could see, most posts were actually concerned about the child in question. So I’m not sure how this Dr Taylor has proven the opposite. YABU.

PonyPatter44 · 18/04/2026 14:13

You again? You could at least change the title of your dull thread. Grifter.

Tensetickle · 18/04/2026 14:13

There's an influencer in that article, complaining that people commented on her life. But she literally chose to put it (or a deeply "curated" version of it) out there for public consumption and for personal profit. It's perfectly possible to live a life away from the public eye. If you choose to be in the public eye you can't insist that you only get praise. And if you choose to lie about reality in order to turn a profit then you cannot complain when your lies are exposed.

I certainly cant understand anyone who lets their child feature on their "influencer" page or even worse who let's their child have their own page

TabbyBeast · 18/04/2026 14:13

Where is this forensic research published op? Or are you referring to the "press release" from Jess Taylor PhD. Even Princess's mother has moved on from the blaming Tattle narrative now

Tableforjoan · 18/04/2026 14:13

Princess own worst enemy seemed to be her own mother from what I’ve read online.

There should’ve laws against using your children for your own social media gain. They need protection from their own parents who are the ones selling them out.

The threads I have read people don’t seem to insult the children or teens of the influencer scammers it’s about how the parents are or what the parents are doing to the child. So if someone say comments on a child hair it seems to be in disgust that the parent isn’t treating their hair well or is loading it full of
products that could damage it.

Obviously I’ve not read every thread or every page on every thread but children seem to be off limits unless it’s criticism of the parent making the child do or look a certain way.

Hannaseed · 18/04/2026 14:13

Haven't we had this thread a million times before?

SerafinasGoose · 18/04/2026 14:14

I haven't seen Tatler.

But Taylor's own research 'ethics' leave a large amount to be desired. No ethics committee in the world would condone using the stories of trauma victims without their consent, yet participants are on record as stating that this is the case. According to Taylor they're lying (nice, professional way to treat your clients and research participants). As for her supposed clinical guidance, this is highly dubious and against some professional guidelines.

Of course, she frames this outlier position as anti-establishment/profession, and her lack of an appropriate research channel and affiliation as a protest against paywalls on research content (a great deal of peer-reviewed research, especially UKRI funded material, is now open access). This means that if anyone criticises her approach she can immediately counter it with the accusation that she's being bullied, that misogyny is the basis for any such objections and that she's a working-class woman being kept in her place by a privileged profession.

She's a maverick. I think she is a dangerous woman.

SaveTheSnails · 18/04/2026 14:15

Using a young person’s tragic death to attack a website because you don’t like people talking about the reality of your grifting. Classy! Just the sort of exploitative behaviour I expect from Jessica Taylor.

Shoes232 · 18/04/2026 13:43

It’s no worse than mumsnet.

Yes it is it’s vile. Have you read the Radfords family thread, and the celebrity one? It’s a wonder the forum hasn’t been sued!

Tensetickle · 18/04/2026 14:16

SaveTheSnails · 18/04/2026 14:07

Wow. I had no idea about any of this. That's absolutely jaw dropping.

The Radfords is that the one where the husband was an adult and wife a minor?

YourSassyPanda · 18/04/2026 14:16

Jessica Taylor is a person with zero credibility.

TabbyBeast · 18/04/2026 14:18

Oh, and if Jess was an actual clinical psychologist as she likes to lead people to believe she is, then she would not that you can't speculate on why someone chose to end their life much less ascribe one cause. She's a dangerous charlatan

SaveTheSnails · 18/04/2026 14:19

Exactly. It goes against all suicide prevention guidance and good practice. Disgusting and totally exploitative behaviour.

Yeah, that’s them. And the ones who also exploit their kids for money.

Edited

Its the streisand effect isnt it?

The only time I ever remember it even exists is when you get some numbnuts bleeting on about how it's the worst site ever to exist and they said some awful thing about someone I've never heard of and so should be shutdown.

Then, because im a nosy fuck, I Google "tattle" and lose half an hour reading through threads.

I particularly enjoy the mumsnet thread on there.

Tableforjoan · 18/04/2026 14:21

PhoebeBuffay1234 · 18/04/2026 14:20

Yeah, that’s them. And the ones who also exploit their kids for money.

Thought so.

Cant see a problem with people calling out an adult for getting a 13/14 year old girl pregnant much of an issue tbh.

Then yes the tv shows and lies about not getting any benefits like his pie shop was really supporting all those babies 😅

PinkPonyAnonymous · 18/04/2026 14:21

Kidfluencing needs regulating! I don’t know any of the people mentioned above but what I have seen of tattle it’s usually people questioning the child labour.

Agree. That's what people should campaign for

I have to get a licence for my daughter to perform on a stage in a fairly minor role. She has to be professionally chaperoned at all times when there. Kidfluencing needs a similar level of regulation

I've got a pure de ja vu going on there. Right down to the replies.

Usually ends in a deletion I think, presumably requested by OP when it becomes clear people aren’t being taken in by the exploitative bollocks.
