Ok I know there are bigger problems in the world at the moment but,

Is this woman a huge CF?!

There are two facebook groups for our village, a ‘Freecycle’ type group ie
stuff you want rid of, no good for selling but someone could still make use of.
And, a Pet Food Bank.
Both these groups are run by the same woman.

Posts on the freecycle group will go for admin approval,

Generally what happens with the freecycle group is that people will snap things up pretty fast and they will collect them from you. I’ve given quite a few things away on there over the years to very grateful people!

With the Pet Foodbank, she emphasises that she does NOT collect items, you have to get them to her.

The other day, the owner / admin posted on the freecycle group to announce that she would no longer be approving any posts with Pet items to give away. All Pet items need to be going straight to her at the pet food bank (whether its food or other items like collars, leads etc) and she will now be declining any posts with such items.

Is she being a CF? Surely there are other people who may not need food from her, but they would still like other things for their pets?

She’s saying this and still expects you to take the items to her! I’m speechless!?

Jeez. Much ado about nothing. I bet she’s doing 10x more for the community than you are - invariably the way when people moan about ridiculous things other people do for the greater good.

I don't understand. Don't send stuff to her if you don't want to.

Sure you can find another way to get rid of your stuff than this woman?

I actually agree with her stance. IMO a lot people who take stuff for free are often chancers looking to sell on these things or just take things they don't really need because they can. So from her point of view why wouldn't she want to make sure her pet food bank is benefiting the most from her efforts.

I really thought you were going to come on here and say that she wasn't approving posts so she could get first dibs on the free stuff. Seems no good deed goes unpunished eh?

Also if she lives in the village it's hardly a big deal to drop one off donations round to hers.

Isn’t it preferable that the Pet Food bank gives all pet items to those in need rather than them going to some random?

Well I guess that's she's getting everything, & some people might want to give it directly to other people not via bossy britches.

snd not everyone can 'take things to her' they might prefer or need them to collect Ted (by people who want them)

Well no it isn't because she isn't keeping the items for her own personal use presumably? She runs two facebook groups and has decided how she wants to moderate them. If you don't like it post on another one or set up your own community group.

People don't have to give to her though. I don't get the calling her a cf though?
If she was keeping and using the pet stuff for herself then yes that would be c fery but otherwise...sorry if I've missed something or being dim.🤔

Just put the pet things on the other page then? Or if you feel so strongly set up an alternative free cycle group that does include pet accessories?!

I'd suggest setting up another Facebook group if you don't like it. But these two are her groups and she can run them how she likes.

They are her groups that she does all the work for. You're being ridiculous. Set up your own groups if you think she's being cheeky.

She’s the one who has made the effort to set all this up. She doesn’t have to do any of this; she’s putting her time and effort into it, voluntarily, and she’s perfectly entitled to run things the way she wants to.

If you don’t like it, just give your stuff away on FB Marketplace instead. You’re making a massive fuss about nothing.

Then they can put them on Facebook Market place for free and have someone collect it or put a notice in the local shop window or tell facebook woman that she can have it for her pet foodbank but she will need to collect because they can't deliver it.

Do you know the woman concerned? Sounds like you know her or the OP in the way you write and staunchly defending her, live in the same village or just pulling the punches? 🤔
