To think this is fucking dreadful

Seen a story on various ‘news’ outlets today about a woman apparently being hunted for by police for defecating on a shelf in The Range and leaving. I’m not linking the article because I think it’s terrible but there is a clear photo of the woman in question.

Hundreds of horrible and jokey comments. No empathy or consideration that this could have been someone with any number of cognitive issues and/or digestive disease. Now their photo is plastered all over social media. How humiliating for them and the family. Is this what we have become as a society? Does this actually pass for news and would police resources not be better spent elsewhere? Honestly I find it cruel, grim and shocking.

Ah yes anyone with a disability should be locked up at home you’re completely right. Nice to see ableism is still alive and well on MN.

Unless there is a LOT more to this story, I just think it is a ridiculous waste of police resources and complete overkill to share her photo and turn this into some sort of man hunt. Yes its horrible for the staff but its not that uncommon for people to have accidents, as I said my relative has seen it happen many times in the supermarket where she works.

The picture is incredibly clear and people will definitely recognise her. I just think it’s humiliating not just for her but her family.

I'm disabled and I have a lot of disabled friends. We don't go around shitting in random places and plonking percy on a shop shelf would be beyond most of our physical capabilities. I'm sure you think you're advocating your tits off with this overblown sympathy. You aren't.

And, @Itsmetheflamingo , tell me this...did they leave their shit for someone else to clean up.

I'm not trying to shame you-as you very well know- so you can stop with the "poor me" act but I can tell you this...you are very unfortunate to have been involved in three public shitting incidents. Of course, it may be common for you-you say it's not "uncommon" -but neither I nor any of my friends and family have had your misfortune.

How awful for you! It's a bloody shame for you. That said, have a good look at the photograph of the The Range Shitting Woman-there's a good chance you may know her.

BTW, I notice you spell "bath" with a lower case letter, so are you referring to an actual bath, people shitting in the bath? I suppose shitting in a bath at home is better than shitting in a car dealership or The Range.

Wtf is wrong with you?

You’re pretty naive if you don’t think public shitting is a thing. The town over from us had a library shitter! My friend worked in a hotel for a while and has some really gnarly stories about deposits made by guests.

I also used to work in lively pub back in thr late 90s and it would amaze me how often people would shit on the toilet floor. It also seemed to be almost exclusively in the women's loos. Sure, the blokes would be piss all over the seats, break the locks on the doors, vandalise the hand dryer machine etc but I never gott my head around what would possess you to deliberately shit on the floor when the toilet is literally 'just there'.
