AIBU to eat another hot cross bun and deprive teens leaving them to starve in their beds ?

I took the dog out this am and the local bakery had hot cross buns newly out of the oven. I have just eaten mine with bacon and a cup of tea. Amazing

Summoned teens from their beds to say that it was ready.

AlbU to eat the extra portions ? I fear that if I do they may stay in bed forever due to their feeble constitutions and lack of bacony, sweet salty norishment

Never heard of eating them with bacon, but am going to try! Sounds great, like having maple syrup with bacon, I imagine the sweet hxb works well

Is bacon on hot cross buns a regional thing? I did an Easter buffet once & my guests from the South East were shocked that I thought hot cross buns were sweet as they'd usually eat them with sandwich fillings.

YANBU, teens can go shopping & its not as if HCBs are only available today.

The did remind me of the croissant crisis of 2014 when I ate one of their croissants in front of them in an anti tantrum attempt ( it worked - shock value)

I have just finished a hot cross bun when I saw this thread. I have bacon in the house. I am definitely having a bacon hot cross bun tomorrow. It sounds amazing.

Good salty bacon in a nice fruity hot cross bun, toasted and buttered - yum, absolutely lovely. Discovered it a few years ago, had one yesterday. Lovely!

I am just jealous that you have access to hot cross buns. I know I could make them myself but not having shops that I can get them in is sad. Rosinenbrot is not quite the same.

Bacon? This has never occurred to me but I feel the need to try it! Sweet and salt - classic combination.

I got the last pack of proper HCBs in Tesco yesterday.
I am a HCB purist and only eat them on Good Friday.
It makes me cross when you can buy them aplenty from Christmas Eve, yet trying to buy them on Maundy Thursday is met with wide-eyed horror about leaving it too late.

Anyway, I have a pack of 6. It's just me and DS2 at home, but he's out until this evening. So.......it's gonna be a good afternoon for me :-)
