Hot cross bun crisis

AIBU to eat another hot cross bun and deprive teens leaving them to starve in their beds ?

I took the dog out this am and the local bakery had hot cross buns newly out of the oven. I have just eaten mine with bacon and a cup of tea. Amazing

Summoned teens from their beds to say that it was ready.

Not a peep ( i know they are awake)

AlbU to eat the extra portions ? I fear that if I do they may stay in bed forever due to their feeble constitutions and lack of bacony, sweet salty norishment

I hate them with bacon , husband has tried them with a burger and approved but not for me

I mean while it sounds divine that would mean you’d eaten 600 calories of just HCB… without adding on the butter and bacon. So sadly I have to say… back away from the buns.

Ooh wondering if halloumi would work for a veggie version!? Plus a nice runny fried egg.. Thanks for the inspo OP!

So I'll eat 600 calories less of something else. Big deal its a once a year kinda thing for me.

Has to be smoked, streaky, and crispy. You need a really salty bacon hit with the sweetness of the bun. I do not think an egg would be a good addition but halloumi, fried into crispy strips is a very admirable bacon substitute, yes yes!

Turns out left over HCB ( i know! ) also goes with white wine ....

I picked up a pack of HCB and they were chocolate flavoured. Eww gross. Picked up the next pack and they were rhubarb and custard flavour? I was so grossed out. Didnt end up getting any HCB and now I really want one.
