AIBU to eat another hot cross bun and deprive teens leaving them to starve in their beds ?

I took the dog out this am and the local bakery had hot cross buns newly out of the oven. I have just eaten mine with bacon and a cup of tea. Amazing

Summoned teens from their beds to say that it was ready.

AlbU to eat the extra portions ? I fear that if I do they may stay in bed forever due to their feeble constitutions and lack of bacony, sweet salty norishment

I guess they are a bit brioche(ish) and I don’t think twice about bacon on pancakes with maple syrup, I may give this a go!

We have a pending crisis as we had a first round of cardamon buns this morning, but I've just realised there aren't quite enough for everyone to have a second one this afternoon and one person is going to have to go without.

Are you my mother? She will only eat HCBs on Good Friday and give you so much grief if you admit to eating them at any other time!

Yesterday we ran out of hot cross buns - horrors! So I grabbed a bag as I was passing a bakery. This morning I went to the supermarket for cat food, and saw the HCBs there were on a two for one offer, so I bought two packets. Got home and the veg box had arrived - with a packet of HCBs on top that I’d forgotten I’d added to the order. Gone from famine to feast within 24hrs.

Clearly I now need to buy a whole pig too.

My Mother was the same. She is long gone, but I like to preserve her ways and she will know and scorn. It's a nice treat to have them once a year at the traditional time.

Isnt it weird that we use crosses to celebrate Jesus? Like it was a common execution method. If he’d been hanged would all Christian’s wear a noose? Can you make hot noose buns?

Our local bakery/deli is selling them with a slice of cheese (sone kind of fancy mature cheddar I think) in the middle. I was tempted!
