I’ve met a nice bloke. But he’s one of those people that can’t chill even for 5 mins: he’s always walking to get a coffee, picking the paper. The secondary I am out of something he has his coat and shoes on. It just really unsettles me as mad as that sounds. I am grateful he is wanting to get things in for me. But he’s in and out the house at least 5x a day.

Sounds like he's trying to be nice, rushing to get stuff. Better than just sitting round, expecting you to do everything.

My husband is like this. He can’t sit still. But, the DIY is always done, he cooks dinner 95% of the time and he goes out to explore the local area whilst on holiday, whilst I read my book, so he knows where everything is 😂

As long as he doesn’t expect you to be up doing something all of the time, too, then I think YABU.

I'm very disappointed that this wasn't about a cat, I'd already decided I was on the cats side and everything 🤣 Anyway yanbu it'd irk me too but some people are just like that.

Oh, I had the entire scenario in my head -- your new boyfriend was arriving and sitting down to provide a lap for your cat while you dashed about doing everything because he didn't want to disturb the cat. I'm mildly gutted that the cat is imaginary and that the boyfriend if anything has the opposite problem, that he's fizzing with energy and helpfulness.
