When my dad was in hospital really poorly a guy next to my dad was really kind and friendly with my dad, my dad got discharged and swapped numbers with this gentleman. He’s in his 60s
Well he’s texting my dad saying he fancies me
And can he take me out and he’s literally acting obsessed with me.
Sounds awful but would you block him? Or is that mean? Thanks

How does it sound awful ??
He’s a fucking creep .
What age are you ?
You sound quite young .
I hope your father hasn’t disclosed where he lives or where you live ?

Of course you’re not being unreasonable.. also, what does your dad think? Hopefully he’s agreeing with us and telling this man to take a running jump

Italiangreyhound · 05/03/2026 19:04

Block. Awful behaviour.

JockTamsonsBairns · 05/03/2026 19:12

Assuming you're an adult woman, now might be a good time to reflect on your boundaries (or lack thereof).
Why would you think that blocking a random man for his inappropriate behaviour towards you be "mean"?

I haven’t read all the threads but has anyone mentioned dementia ? It’s really common for male dementia sufferers to think they are young again .
My friend visited her dad and he told the nurse she was “ tasty ” .. another friends’dad pestered his assistant so much she send the friend a text saying “ tell your dad never to message me again” and the same dad had a skinfade haircut with a stripe cut out !! Block by all means but maybe all the mean comments don’t cover the whole story .

No. Because it doesn't matter what his reasons are for doing it. It's irrelevant to her.

Is this really the time for NAMALT?

Given most abusers are men, if women want to say men are disgusting creatures on a women's forum, they should be bloody well allowed to.

Absolutely. We just don’t have to believe it.

THEDEACON · 06/03/2026 05:50

My Dad would have warned him off by now

Doingtheboxerbeat · 06/03/2026 06:00

Even if he had just won the euro millions, had no friends or family, had 6 months to live and I was skint, I would still block.

I'm not much younger than you and that's not been my experience at all
