Does anyone else have a "wine noise" window?

I do. Every evening from about 6pm to 8pm I think OO SOME WINE WOULD BE NICE. If I don't have any by 8 (which I usually don't, don't worry readers) the urge goes away.

I don't really get it with other treats. Like I love chocolate but it's not the same.

Maybe it's the socialised guilt around alcohol?

Actually now I'm thinking I might have an m&s bubbly bunny tho.

I thought this was a thread about some new type of double glazing OP

JacknDiane · 20/02/2026 19:17

No but since getting on i can't handle a glass of wine 😩

Soosiesoo · 20/02/2026 19:17

I get this! Usually goes away once I’ve eaten or if I get past 7/7.30. I loves me a wine whilst I’m cooking.

Haha if I could get a layer that shut out the wine noise I would probably cough up

Yes me too!! Cooking is the best time.

YES! I totally have this. Generally once I’ve eaten dinner it goes away and I start craving a cup of tea instead.

AdventureAnonymous · 20/02/2026 19:19

Yep, me too.

Cryingatthegym · 20/02/2026 19:20

Yep! I don't really get 'food noise' but I definitely get this. And when I occasionally give in I always deeply regret it as nowadays even the tiniest sniff of wine means I don't sleep until 1am 💔

Sleep and not overheating in bed are my main protective factors but I do still like it now and then

I also thought this was some new form of glazing 🙈
I feel like such a child the smell and taste of wine is so yuck to me so definitely no noise here. I occasionally get take away noise though 😂

StrawberryFlowers · 20/02/2026 19:27

It's funny I rarely drink alcohol (food is my vice instead) but while cooking Christmas dinner I had huge "mulled wine noise" as i usually always drink mulled wine while cooking Christmas dinner but couldn't this year due to driving later. I really missed it

Ribenaberry12 · 20/02/2026 19:33

Yes, definitely get this!

Keepingthingsinteresting · 20/02/2026 19:34

Me too @Designless . Given in tonight though as it’s Friday…..

Whats a bubbly bunny?

TofuTuesday · 20/02/2026 19:36

Hmm yes - I get a ‘Prosecco prompt’ from my brain at about 5pm on Friday - do we have any for later? And usually at 7pm the ‘Prosecco pester’ - pour one/go to Tesco get some. Only when it’s not a school night 😂

ByWarmShark · 20/02/2026 19:41

No, but I used to. When I drank wine two or three times a week (only a glass) I would definitely get this, i think because wine was a possibility. It's like knowing there's chocolate in the fridge. Now I rarely drink i find i don't get it anymore- there's still wine in the house it's just not on my mind.

BatOrange · 20/02/2026 19:42

I crave wine in the evening until I eat. Once I’ve had a meal, the craving goes away. I went through a terrible phase of drinking almost daily and the only way to stop was eating dinner earlier. Before I realised the problem, I found myself putting off dinner until I was already drunk and finished drinking.

Me too. My new window does actually whine

Obviouslynotallthere · 20/02/2026 19:50

Every Friday about 6pm when I can breathe a sigh of relief the working week is over and I have head space to delete all the shit I’ve had to think about.

thistimelastweek · 20/02/2026 19:54

Yes, cooking is the trigger.
If I drink something like soda and lime whilst cooking, I don't get the wine noise

TON618 · 20/02/2026 19:55

I'm in the throes of a 24/7 mini-egg noise window. Please send help.

Hohofortherobbers · 20/02/2026 19:56

Yep, between 5pm-7pm the wine is on my mind.

I sympathise, but does the extortionate price this year not put you off? I was suffering from that myself until I went to Tesco.

It has massively put me off to be honest. I might have to sublimate the urge with a multi pack of creme eggs or something. Poor substitute, but here we are!

My favourite wine noise is the "glug, glug, glug" as it leaves the bottle when you pour it. (I'm missing the point, aren't I?)
