Not even saved by quality butter and peanut butter

I picked some up from m&s this morning, delicious when microwaved for 20 seconds.

Well I thought someone would mention M+S.

Mine are from Iceland so I know what people are going to say about that.

The only ones worth eating are from m&s, they are AMAZING, all others aren’t worth the time

Chocolate hot cross buns are all kinds of wrong though and it's not even Lent yet.

So what you're telling me is that I have to eat all of this pack (because while I say they're horrible, I mean it is cake and it is chocolate so Im not saying that they cant be eaten), I have to eat this whole pack I think you said and then I have to go to M+S and buy some more and eat that whole pack as well.

To me sultanas and spices are in hot cross buns.
Other flavours shouldn't be called hot cross buns however nice or otherwise they are.

I like the old fashioned tradition best.

M&S did chocolate orange ones one year which were divine and never made them again. Sad times. You can keep your revolting salted caramel alternatives.

Also if you don't like something you don't have to eat it. Or you could make it into bread and butter pudding. Even a sad bun is transformed with the additions of chocolate and custard.

Correct. All the “options” that aren’t the traditional flavour aren’t hot cross buns, they’re “alternative baked goods”. They may be nice, they may be nasty, but they’re not hot cross buns. They’re baked goods.

I’ve trained my teens in this and they now refer to the imposters correctly, while eating them.

@likelysuspect , leave the HCB. Go to M&S as a reward for your suffering and buy cheese scones, eccles cakes and some HCB without chocolate. It would be a shame not to have chocolate though so get bar of M&S chocolate while you are there.

M&S once did one with chocolate chips and salted caramel swirl. Delicious!

Make them into an icecream sandwich for a perfect dessert , tea cakes toasted work great too

The Asda ones are delicious toasted with salted butter.
I may have had 2 during the week and hidden the other 2.

Chocolate hot cross buns = wrong
Any variety that isnt origonal or finest hot cross bun = wrong
Traditional origonal style or fancier finest style hot cross bun = Very Delicious and I wish I had some now!

I'm a very classic person when it comes to HCB and Mince pies. No deviation allowed.

I admit I have not heard of a chocolate HCB. Is it like a pain au chocolat with chocolate squidge in the middle? Or chocolate chips instead of raisins? Or is it entirely chocolate dough?
