So, heres a thought, for people that do like ABG - Imposter Buns, what about shops selling a 4 pack of DIFFERENT FLAVOURS

Absolutely. See also mince pies with icing on top. Utterly unacceptable. I have also trained DC to refer to them in the aisles of supermarkets as "wrong" and "just not proper mince pies".

They will also, unprompted, exclaim loudly how inappropriate it is for mince pies to be in shops before Advent. Rarely been prouder!

HCBs I will not allow until Good Friday.

We've had the lemon M&S ones, DH made lemon icing to drizzle over the top and it improved them even more. So if you're listening Markies, do that too. It's lush.

Chocolate HCBs are delicious, I like Sainsbo’s ones. Only a recent find but a regular treat now (when I can get them).

Don’t like the chocolate ones but the cheese ones are delicious.

M&S and nothing added

They are basically hot cross buns for people who don’t like hot cross buns I think. That said the M&S salted caramel ones are quite nice.
I haven’t tried the cheese variety, there is just something so unappealing about the idea

@Therewerelions who the heck put chocolate in Welsh cakes? I need to know so I can boycott them. At least Welsh cakes are easy to make.

We had some amazing ones a week or so ago...I think they were M&S? Not really a hot cross bun in anything but shape, but very nice with butter.

I am not sure I can see the point in a cheese hot cross bun either, @TheIceBear - if I want something cheesy, I make cheese scones, and put far too much cheese in them so they lose all structural integrity and become cheese splats rather than scones - but they taste amazing if I do say so myself!

I like the Tesco 'extra fruut' ones best. Much more than M&S or Waitrose etc.

I like traditional ones, I haven't enjoyed any other 'flavours', not even the rhubarb & custard ones. I think I've trained myself out of even trying new flavors.

I think all the weird flavours are pointless and just make an already slightly unhealthy food a sugar bomb. Like eating cake for breakfast/a snack. Just have a regular one!

Toast them and put coffee ice cream in the middle to make an ice cream sandwich. Heaven.

Nope, I don't stray away from a simple traditional hot cross bun. None of this chocolate, apple etc added nonsense.

I hate sultanas, raisins and currants so the more alternatives the better! It saves me picking the sultanas out of real hot cross buns!

If you hate sultanas currents and raisins you basically hate hot cross buns !

You should probably try the Sainsbury’s HCBs too, just for thorough research.

I like all the weird flavoured hot cross buns, except the cheese ones which are an abomination.

But I don't put butter or jam or anything else on them. I just eat them whole, like cake.

I came to post this, the cheese ones with marmite spread on just aren't the same.

They all sound horrible TBH, I can't imagine chocolate bread!!

I just want an old fashioned spicy hot cross bun, not chocolate or any other flavour
