And it looks like Labour Peer Lord Mandelson might be about to do the same. And?

Yes and quite rightly it’s being discussed in every newspaper and news tv in the UK, regardless of whether it’s right of left leaning, When the Nathan Gill court case came to a conclusion it was silence from the right wing press.

Lmao are you OK?

Putin has much bigger fish to fry

How’s the weather in Moscow?

Isn't the West destabilising itself? I don't see how Putin can be doing this

Yeah. I can well imagine the other clinking glasses at our downfall, but this is stuff we in the West have been merrily doing to ourselves.

Immigration. Was it Russia who obediently joined America in bombing Libya and overseeing Gaddafi's murder- unleashing wave upon wave of uncontrolled illegal immigration from Africa into Europe, as smuggling gangs happily stepped in once Gaddafi was gone? Russia throwing open your luxury hotels to the illegals? Russia having its courts operate under emergency to swiftly jail those protesting outside said hotels?

The wider stuff. Russia who thought Peter fucking Mandelson was a fit representative for their country? Russia who allow transgender men into women's prisons? Russia who allow Birmingham racist rabbles to determine who you allow to play football games there, as you can't maintain order on your own streets?

Britain is a fucking shitshow and you think Putin is orchestrating that farce? Or would actually need to do so, given how well you are running the place into the ground all by yourselves?

Of course Farage will be more of the fucking same. Every defection from the shitbag Johnson government party to "Reform" (the chutzpah of using that name!) confirms it.

Yes, there are several references to Brexit in the Epstein files, plus Trumps Plan for National Security document makes reference to wanting the EU to collapse.

They were colluding together to destroy Europe. It’s pretty obvious by now. It makes it much easier for them to meet their nefarious objectives. Anyone who has to request evidence at this point is either not paying attention or not too bright!

We’ve been absolutely swindled and we need to rejoin as soon as humanly possible for everybody’s sakes.

Genuine question - why does something being referenced in the Epstein files make it true?

How’s the weather in Moscow?

I can Google the Russian weather fine from here in Australia. Just put "temperature in Irkutsk" or something like that. Or has your Internet been so restricted you can't do that anymore? I know you're not allowed to watch porn online now?

You truly are so amazingly paranoid. Everyone who thinks you're a fucking shambles has to be in Putin's pay. That's.... a large budget he must have.

TessSaysYes · 09/02/2026 17:53

Yes, I agree. And Marine Lepen too...just wanna talk BS and weaken our country.

Ollldy78 · 09/02/2026 17:42

Perhaps in isolation it wouldn’t be a smoking gun, but when you take everything together it’s very suspect.

The same people implicated in the MAGA movement also have links to Brexit which Farage helped to promote. This has been talked about for quite some time. Including Steve Bannon, Trump and Farage’s political advisor who funded the leave campaign.

Bannon and Epstein celebrate the Brexit result in emails talking about a return to tribalism etc, and there are also emails talking about installing Johnson and overthrowing May’s government.

Trumps Plan for National security document on the White House website talks about wanting all EU nations to break off into independent sovereign nations.

Trump is a clear ally of Putin and not Europe, and Farage has said he admires Putin as an operator. Farage has appeared on Russian state TV 17 times, and had a Reform leader go to prison for taking Russian money.

Refom and MAGA have the same political goals which also benefits Russia if the EU no longer exists.

HereAreYourOptions · 09/02/2026 18:08

Maybe if the UK doesn't want Reform, then it would be a good idea for it to have a semi-competent alternative that doesn't mostly ignore the wishes of the majority of the electorate and which does something other than managing the decline\kicking the can down the road.

It's all very well telling people not to vote for Reform, but asking them to vote 'more of the same' isn't really going to cut it any more.

Edit: And no, the Greens are not the answer either.

Ollldy78 · 09/02/2026 17:42

Genuine question - why does something being referenced in the Epstein files make it true?

Not to mention that the far right are rising all over Europe, not just here, and I suspect the files which expose Peter Mandelson have been dropped by the Trump administration so they can shift the blame on to Labour which helps Reform’s cause.

Farage was on board with Mandelson’s appointment until now. Strange that.

Amexka · 09/02/2026 18:26

I don't need to wake up because I don't trust Farage However I don't trust Labour either as they seem hell bent on destroying British Agriculture and various other policies that they seem to have found in a Christmas cracker. They seem focussed on easy targets ie law abiding citizens rather than dealing with anything difficult and necessary.

They don't have any decent policies and I hate Starmer so, like last time, will not vote Labour. Ever.

I am right-leaning but I agree that global politics is being heavily influenced not just by networks of the rich and back-scratching/bribery, but also bot farms shaping the public discourse and malign actors affecting university education (and so shaping the minds of tomorrow's leaders).

This UK Defence Journal article talks about how Iran tried to influence the Scottish Independence campaign.

This FT article covers how the UAE has restricted funding for its citizens who want to study at British universities due to concerns of Muslim Brotherhood radicalisation on campus. I've read numerous articles on how Qatar, China and, ironically, given the article I've linked to (!), the UAE have been at work influencing student bodies through donations, sending students, etc.

OP, I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm joining you in general despair of the naivety of our media, the general public and our ruling classes who are seemingly powerless to resist the power and malign influence of those who are actively working to sow dissent. It's not just Russia - China, Iran and Qatar are also all exerting hard and soft power to weaken their enemies' (us, the West's) economies, political institutions, educational institutions and corporations.

Iranian-linked Scottish accounts fall silent again

A network of social media accounts posing as Scottish independence supporters has fallen silent once again, closely mirroring a fresh shutdown of internet access inside Iran.

What does the UK being in a shambles have to do with whether or not it benefits Russia, and others, for Europe to be less unified?

I mean, sure, we’re a (technical term) shambles, Observation accepted. That doesn’t exclude outside interference taking advantage? Or being part of the cause of that.

Our Nige seems to have his nose in a few troughs, going to the UAE on an all expenses paid trip for talks. He’s talked about proscribing the Muslim brotherhood as well and so has Tommy Ten Names, copy and pasting posts on his X page that are so obviously pre written for him so it adds up.

They are always "naive" if they don't buy into your gaga conspiracy theories, aren't they?

Britain likes to exaggerate its importance in the world. It's like Main Character Syndrome on a national level.

Edited

Well, it certainly wouldn't be a "gaga conspiracy" to point out that almost 90% of Reform's donations have come from one man who happens to hold major shareholdings in a pro-Kremlin video platform (Rumble) and a crypto currency (Tether) that is being used by Russia to circumvent global sanctions.

Or, of course, that the former leader of Reform in Wales is currently serving a ten year sentence after pleading guilty to accepting Russian bribes.

And I'm sure its just a coincidence that Farage has been known to flatter Putin, and promote the Kremlin narrative to justify the war in Ukraine, from time to time.

DeepBlueDeer · 09/02/2026 19:34

I have no idea why my post was instantly blocked.

I simply pointed out that nearly 90% of Reforms donations have been from a man who is heavily invested in both a pro-Kremlin video platform and a crypto currency used by Russia to circumnavigate trade sanctions, that the former leader of Reform in Wales in currently serving 10 years for taking Russian bribes, and Farage has a longstanding propensity to speak relatively favorably of Putin and Russia...

DeepBlueDeer · 09/02/2026 19:35

Weird. Can't seem to post anything factual about sources of Reform funding, or a former Reform politician in prison, without getting immediately censored...

DeepBlueDeer · 09/02/2026 19:36

Christopher Harborne. Rumble. Tether. Russia. Google...

If it involves a certain currency beginning with C it won’t allow it. It may get approved in a while.

" but if you think a leader of a political party with all of his influence couldn’t have launched a more in-depth investigation into his own party after one of one of his own party members got done for a very serious crime, then I don’t know what to say, really. Why couldn’t he have asked the police? He could have."

So why didn't he?
