AIBU to report neighbour

Neighbouradviceneeded · 10/01/2026 16:17

I’ve just heard the neighbour shout at her husband she also swore. (open window). We don’t speak

I’ve heard her shout before a while back, should I be concerned?

There are two older children in the household - one is school age but must be in their mid teens.

Mind your own business

Darkdarknightinthedarkdarkstaircase · 10/01/2026 16:18

Report her to who?!

Report her to who?!

Not sure she just sounded so sharp.

Concerned about what?
I don't personally shout at people but I gather it's not uncommon for voices to be raised during an argument.

K0OLA1D · 10/01/2026 16:19

Eh? Why would you report for shouting? Unless you're going to drop a huge drip?

And report to who?

Azandme · 10/01/2026 16:20

People argue. Some may shout. Some may swear. If this isn't a regular thing, and your description is all it was stop clutching your pearls.

shouldofgotamortage · 10/01/2026 16:20

People aruge, people shout, it’s pretty normal when people loose their shit. Stop curtain twitching.

vanillalattes · 10/01/2026 16:20

What on earth would you be reporting? 😂

BeMellowAquaSquid · 10/01/2026 16:21

Is this real?

itsthetea · 10/01/2026 16:21

You should be concerned - about yourself

you clearly have an unhealthy idea of what is normal. I am guessing you find relationships difficult ?

Branleuse · 10/01/2026 16:21

Grown ups do sometimes get cross with each other.

Spaghettifountain · 10/01/2026 16:21

What a weird take. People argue and shout.

MyLimeGuide · 10/01/2026 16:22

Erm no.

Sharp?

They were arguing, she was probably angry.

Have you never had or overheard an argument before?

Neepsn · 10/01/2026 16:22

If it was a man shouting at his wife, would you have posted on here? Doubt it. What words did she shout?

Neighbouradviceneeded · 10/01/2026 16:24

She is awful it’s not the first time I’ve heard her be sound so off with her husband and kids. Granted it’s been a while. I thought she sounded aggressive at worst or ‘rough’ to say the least and her husband and children might be struggling with it.

Report to whom, the Shouting Police?

Neepsn · 10/01/2026 16:25

I had a neighbour call the police on me once out of spite because I purposely avoided him IRL and then blocked him on social media for being creepy.

Your OP is creepy. Hearing a sharp tone of voice is not necessarily DV.

Sorry that happened to you

Why do you think I’m being creepy - just concerned?

Strange take.
I have seen many post where people have heard men shouting at their wives.... they usually get told to log it with 101 or similar.

Maybe she's menopausal or has health issues or is being abused. Why would you call the police!? "The shouting police? L" 😂😂

Ok, but her husband is an adult. If he is "struggling" with it, he can take the kids and leave. Where were you planning to report it? Social services? "Hello, my neighbour is sounding really rough and I think her husband might be struggling with it?"..
Have you really thought it through?

amber763 · 10/01/2026 16:27

Omg mind your own business and stop listening into your neighbour's domestics!

Boomer55 · 10/01/2026 16:27

She want to report someone from yelling at their spouse? Seriously? 😳😂
