ICE agent shoots woman in the face.

Eyesopenwideawake · 07/01/2026 21:18

It had to happen; in Minneapolis a woman in a car was shouting at the multiple ICE agents. One tried to open her car door, she started to drive away and was shot 2 (3? 4?) times in the head.

Trump is blaming her. Fucking hell.

Nobody is gleeful. I’m not sorry she’s dead but I’m certainly not ‘gleeful’ FFS.

Calling the shooting an "excellent outcome" seems fairly gleeful @SwissChaletPatriot

Mumsnet is British site. There are too many right wing Americans on it at the moment.

In the past I've always thought it was good to listen to views from people from other countries.

Trump, is despicable, dangerous and increasingly blathering megalomaniac - disregarding the rights of other countries and charters drawn up after WW2.
He's often supported by people of lower than average intelligence or those out to make a fast buck.

MN - I genuinely have NO desire to hear or see the views of Trump supporters on this site. It's not X or insta - it's our British site for mums and I NEVER want to read justification of murder by police on here. That is a step to fascism.

@RingoJuice - I hope you can stay in the US and contribute to sites in Alabama or wherever you're from.

You can’t control that, it’s a public site which always allows o/s voices. You can find other places that limit to the U.K.

If she had run over and killed the ICE agent, the people apologising and making excuses for her would almost certainly be celebrating his death in the streets. We’d be hearing jubilantly how he got ‘Kirked’ and deserved it.

Do you see Republicans and MAGA celebrating the death of this illegal criminal? No.

What illegal criminal? She wasn't a criminal. She was a legal American citizen.

He was under no threat, she was clearly trying to get away, she wasn't driving at him. He moved in front of the vehicle, he could literally have taken one step to the side but he didn't, he chose to draw his gun. As someone else pointed out the trajectory of the car following her being shot highlights that her wheels were turned in that direction. The gunshot is not head on - it's to the bottom side of the windscreen.

Why would you want people on your streets who believe that is an appropriate way to act. Think about those circumstances and think about if you'd want every person to act in the same way as that ICE officer. You're setting a very dangerous precedent.

No

Which no? The being hit or the acceleration, both of which can be seen in the video. What do you see when you watch the video?

Danja2010 · 08/01/2026 09:32

Teddleshon1 · 08/01/2026 09:03

@Danja2010 there is clear footage of her hitting an officer with her car

I have seen all the footage. I know what I saw and went to valid news organizations to read balanced articles not X . She did not hit the officer with her car . Stop pushing false narratives.

The Native Americans did far worse than lock up and send back home the White Settlers.

Don't blame them to be fair.

Alexandra2001 · 08/01/2026 09:19

Well, clearly it is, as familiar posters from both sides have opposing views, the 'right, generally speaking, support the shooting, the left do not.

I guess it shows the values we all have.

As i said, watch the Fox9 videos, at the time of shooting, there was no one in the path of the vehicle, at your photo, he had placed himself there, to one side, as i said earlier.

You know as well as i do, that had this happened in the UK, he would almost certainly face a murder charge.

Edited

You stated "there is no one standing in front of the vehicle, only at the side".

The still picture that both I and another poster clearly shows that there was an officer stood in front of the vehicle and also two at the side (with one trying to open the car door).

Now the photos are there for everyone to see my question to you is why did you post deliberate misinformation?

With wheels spinning and a revving engine, how was the officer in front of the vehicle to know she wasn’t about to drive at him? Without being able to see the wheels from where he was standing how would he know which side to jump to in order to avoid the car, given she was already accelerating.

He wasn't directly in front of the vehicle. He was very much on one side. He had time to draw his gun, he therefore had time to take one step to the side, which he clearly does after he has shot yet the vehicle carries on travelling and misses him entirely.

By that same token should UK residents/nationals not comment on anything that is to do with laws in the US or indeed any other country?

AliceandOscar · 08/01/2026 09:35

I’m not a great fan of social media and the ‘let’s film everything’ But thanks goodness for people who recorded these videos or we would never know the truth, that she was murdered in a way which was unjustifiable.
People twisting like pretzels to provide it was her fault.

However I would be interested in all these ‘she deserved it’ posters for their views on the ICE agents after the event when they refused to let a doctor attend her and threatened to shoot them if they tried.
They even refused to let an ambulance through and the poor woman had to be carried by people from the car.

MN has kind of become a victim of its own success. Unless rules change so that we all have to provide evidence of our identities before we can participate (not going to happen, membership would drop to 7 people), it's open to anyone... and it became well known as a major site that was populated largely by middle class, left leaning women, and actually quite influential. Inevitably, people who don't like that - especially the "women" part - were going to come along to try to "correct" it.

Teddleshon1 · 08/01/2026 09:38

@Danja2010 this is a still taken from the video which gives a good view of the point of impact and sequence of events. You can hear the gunshots after the point of impact with the officer.

Hi, Donald.

Lilactimes · 08/01/2026 09:38

PandoraSocks · 08/01/2026 09:17

Why didn't he step out of the way, then? If he has time to draw his gun, he has time to step away as the car was moving slowly.

He didn't step away which he could easily have done because he feels he's above the law in that country and if he commits murder there will be no consequences for him.

She did not need to be shot on the face. He could have shot her tyres or let her go and then traced her by number plate.

His first reaction is to shoot because it's their modus operandi over there. They are third world level in their law and order.

coip · 08/01/2026 07:47

it’s obviously a tragedy, but driving off when an armed agent is asking you to step out of your car is a suicidal thing to do and all Americans know this.

This. I've seen the clips, I've no idea why some are confused. She accelerated toward an armed officer, it is clear. What did she think they would do? Tragic yes but all avoidable if she'd stopped.

OonaStubbs · 08/01/2026 09:39

It stands to reason that if people protest by getting in the way of armed units arresting illegal immigrants, that sooner or later something bad is going to happen. That doesn't make it right that she was killed, but it was inevitable. The protesters should protest but not actually interfere with ICE doing their job, even if they don't agree with it.

The women part maybe but there’s some change from the rest which is good, but some don’t like. If we can comment on something in the US so can the people living there, or anywhere. Being closed off doesn’t make sense.

No she was given conflicting info, one agent told her to drive and the others told her to get out. She was probably shit scared of where they might take her if she got out.
