It doesn't matter what she did to support him as a child. That does not give her free reign to treat him badly now. If she did. We don't know. We only know what the press tell us.

iCod · 28/12/2025 09:38

I would suggest his addiction etc is relevant.
normally rooted in family. It's always family.

Seymour5 · 28/12/2025 09:31

@justanotherchangeofname His mother did do a lot. He probably wouldn’t have achieved his level of success without those early morning trips to training. I just wonder how awful one has to be as a parent to be cut out of an adult DC’s life, and possibly out of a beloved DGC’s life too.

I believe the distancing started before anything was in the press.

Edited

I'm not denying she did a lot but that's what parents do.. it doesn't give you an entitlement to be in your adult child's wedding/life.

People don't tend to ban their family from a wedding without good cause, or at least what they believe to be good cause. Again, none of us know the whole story so any opinion is based off of the media and some tweets- it's hardly a fair place to judge from and it's certainly not fact.

thebabessavedme · 28/12/2025 09:42

I have no skin in the game, who or what they are is of no interest to me but looking at the photos I would say that was a very plain and fairly dismal looking set of dresses/suits etc. Could have been so lovely given the season and the obvious wealth of the Ramsey family, even the Bridemaids flowers looked funereal, hey ho, I expect she will do better next time.

Totally agree. I do wonder why the people who are upset about “everything she did to make him a swimmer” haven’t considered the more sinister, self serving behaviour that could’ve driven her all those years

Wow the vitriol in this thread is staggering.

Adam Peaty is a hugely successful Team GB swimmer who has won Olympic gold and silver. Holly is 25 years old and she may not have what some of you Mnetters would consider to be a 'proper' job but I don't understand the hate for her.

She didn't invite her MiL to her hen. That's it. I'm sure if she posted on here as a DiL saying she didn't want to invite her MiLto the hen you'd have all been on her side with 'invite who you want' and 'it's your hen/wedding' etc.

Adam's Aunt caused all this fuss and drama with her extremely misguided Instagram post very publicly damning Holly and also Adam. Of course it then got all out of hand, which was unsurprising really. And actually, it's just sad. We all have drama in our families - just read a few posts in Trending. The only difference is they are not splashed on the front page of the Mail and Mirror.

Can we just remember that Holly is a young woman and as women ourselves aren't we supposed to lift each other up?

Give your heads a wobble - it's bloody Christmas.

What’s being Christmas got to do with anything?

As for women “lifting up” other women, if they need and deserve it then yes, but not just by virtue of happening to be a woman.

The men all seem to be wearing black tie and the women evening wear too? Thought the trend amongst people who are big on social media was to wear multiple dresses, so weird that they dressed for the evening so early when they (Beckhams et al) have the means to change outfits.

American thing, isn't it?

viques · 28/12/2025 10:01

I expect the conversations went something like this

”Shall we have the wedding at a venue that can both do the service and provide us and our amazing b and c list guests (whose phones we are going to confiscate even though they are our dearest and closest friends) with total privacy so we can all let our hair down knowing that no one outside the guests and staff will get to see the photos unless we publish them”

or

“ shall we pretend that we are deeply religious people and hire out a beautiful abbey in a central location for the day but then also pretend that we are intensely private people who just want to celebrate our love with our family and friends ( whose phones we are going to confiscate even though we trust our dearest friends to respect our privacy) and wrap the bride in a sheet until she looks like a ridiculously unbaked sausage roll so no one sees her dress as she walks in public in a public space”

or

“How much are they offering? Tell them it’s not enough, we have done the hard work bigging up this family feud business and expect that to be reflected in the reward. Remind them that this is the fag end of the the year, nothing happening until NYE so they should be grateful we are giving them an easy story that isn’t about naked Kardashians, Timothee ChaletMaid or Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. BTW make sure the wedding invitations explain that all phones will be confiscated because even though we love our relations and celebrity acquaintances we don’t trust them an inch.”

Swimming had a huge impact badly on his mental health at one point he was quoted as never wanting to see a swimming pool again.

Im sure he has also spoken out about that children shouldn’t be at training stupid early in the morning.

Nanny0gg · 28/12/2025 10:02

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/12/2025 15:13

I thought she looked quite ill, actually...

In a thin silk dress in winter temperatures? Hardly surprising

I'm sure a suitable coat could have been found somewhere

JacknDiane · 28/12/2025 10:03

I thought that was her dress

Why? Pressure? Parental expectation? Parental abus etc get him to swim competitively? What's the story here and is this a particular issue in swimming e.g due to early training?

No, if anything Americans got their dress codes from the British.

Dress code can be black tie, morning dress (tails), or white tie and tiara etc.

JacknDiane · 28/12/2025 10:06

Why are they doing the hello thingy???

Surely her dad's got enough money?

Boododedoop · 28/12/2025 10:10

The photos I’ve seen of some of the family and friends arriving give the impression that none of them including the bride and groom scrubbed up very well.

Gordon Ramsey must be very wealthy but this seems to be a case of lots of money and no taste (except for in the kitchen).

I think he’s struggling a bit lately.

He’s down to his last £170 million as I read it.

Why does anyone care about a bloke who can swim and the daughter of a foul mouthed cook?

HelpMeGetThrough · 28/12/2025 06:38

You’re up early Gordon.

I just knew I'd get something like this. Gordon wouldn't want Tana's figure, surely?

Lilactimes · 28/12/2025 10:15

She looks like she's wearing a silky/ satin type cloak.
She's a young woman on her wedding day.
Probably a bit nervous at all the crowds who seemed to be barging her at one point.

Such a mean miserable bitchy thread.

I think it was burn out due to the pressure after the Olympics.

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/olympics/article-13267719/amp/Adam-Peaty-depression-alcoholism-Holly-Ramsay-son-George-Christianity.html

The time thing not sure but he was in the papers wanting to ban 4am/early starts for children under 14 years of age who were training. Found a link

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14113861/amp/adam-peaty-olympic-swimmer-ban-children-waking-4am-training.html

sorry for the daily mail 😅 but clearly himself isn’t a stranger to selling them either haha

Swimmer Adam Peaty wants to ban children waking up at 4am for training

Peaty believes that early morning training sessions, for children as young as nine, could risk burnout among the next generation of swimmers.

This nauseating saccharine shite again. Exactly why are we ‘lifting up’ 🤮 women by virtue of their sex? This trope is absolute nonsense.

I have no idea about any of these people btw. I’ve heard of Gordon Ramsay, but that’s it. I came on because of the tablecloth thread title. It was indeed an odd look.

Dollymylove · 28/12/2025 10:20

That’s exactly what it is, a cape.

It may well be a cape but it doesn't look like one. It looks like a sheet.
