A winter wedding and they’re all in satin/ silk and Tana with bare arms!! Could have had some fur or velvet to keep them warm.

The bridesmaids looked like their dresses were from a market stall.

I thought Megan Ramsay? looked good in hers

Heathotstuff · 28/12/2025 18:31

From what I can recall, Adam’s mother wasn’t happy that her entire extended family weren’t invited to the engagement party and she confronted Gordon Ramsay about it at the party and made a bit of a scene.

Yeah that makes sense- there’s been very little dignified behaviour from their side or at least the mother and the brother who is currently still on bail for threatening behaviour. FWIW my husband and I eloped because we I didn’t want to deal with my lot’s track record of bad behaviour so I do have sympathy for any couple in their situation.

aCatCalledFawkes · 28/12/2025 18:50

I might be wrong but surely they could of afforded to have their wedding somewhere more private rather than being all over the tabloids due to it being Bath Abbey.
I think speaking to the press would of been the Ramsey families worst nightmare and the final straw but also these people are regular people who aren't managed and have some had exposure to fame with Adam's swimming but not this much exposure. I find it really hard to believe that they were cut out for no reason whatsoever.

Perimenoanti · 28/12/2025 19:04

It's obvious to me that he comes from a totally dysfunctional family. If an adult child estranges themselves it is 99.9pc on the parents. His mother and aunt are unhinged. This has probably gone on for decades and he finally managed to free himself. I feel for him. The final straw wasn't long ago and he just got married right after facing the reality that his mother is disordered and would probably do anything to spoil the wedding.

I'm sure they have received appropriate advice to not speak to the press. I bet they called the paps themselves.

MissMountshaft1 · 28/12/2025 19:58

They have sold their wedding publicity - hence the cape on the bride

gross!

it’s a story as old as time to turn your back on relatives when you think you have reached your “Great Expectations”

either that or yeah mum controlling - I don’t think she would have wrecked the day she just wanted to be there I’m sure

but yeah complaining about arrangements all the time must feel undermining

hope they can make it up in the future

Lochroy · 28/12/2025 19:59

I’m not taking sides because goodness knows what has actually happened, but FWIW, I fully suspect the Peaty’s are being paid and goaded by the Fail or some equally shonky interim agent, whereas the Ramsays will have a very slick PR machine behind them. So they come out of it looking dignified, regardless of the truth of what’s actually been said.

I wholeheartedly agree that his mum and especially aunt don’t come out of it looking great at present, but for all we know, perhaps he really has done a bit of social climbing and dropped them like a hot potato.

This is why I have sympathy for them, horrendous as what’s being reported sounds - they’re out of their depth. They should just stay out of the press. They’ve missed the wedding, it’s clear this method isn’t going to achieve anything except a paycheque.

BettysRoasties · 28/12/2025 20:06

Even if his a social climber selling out or giving away your families shit is low. Low low.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 28/12/2025 20:40

I find myself wondering: if she were 5 foot ten, a size 8, had had lots of work done and could carry off a VB satin tube, would she have been allowed to come? A it was, she would have stuck out like a sore thumb in the photos (because she looks like a normal middle-aged woman)

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/12/2025 20:50

Doubt it.

She wasn't uninvited for her looks. She was uninvited because of shit posting on the internet and to the press.

I couldn’t care less about the story apart from wanting to see what nepo kids get up to.
Frankly the Daily Mail have found a bit of drama and are parading it for all it’s worth.
Surely the Ramsey clan would have known this might happen. Just weird to have a media type wedding under these circumstances. Why not have something more private.
The bridesmaids looked ok to me. The poor bride in cheap looking satin hooded cloak was worse. Just why? The whole thing comes across as naff, rather than a special day for bride and groom. Good luck to them .

PinkPanther57 · 28/12/2025 21:21

Vivi0 · 28/12/2025 18:14

Putting my views on the bridesmaid dresses aside, wasn’t his mother planning on wearing white, or close to white?

Apart from the bride, I didn’t see anyone else wearing white.

With a blue pashmina & blue accessories. All a storm in teacup on outfit IME. She’d hardly outshine bride. Poss they wanted her to adhere to protocol of a VB number & she’s stubborn so this non event blown up.

The cloak was to hide the dress as they’ve done some deal for photos and it must be exclusive!

I think they might have been trying to dictate outfit & she’s a bit stubborn & feisty so it all kicked off. The cream dress & blue pashmina & navy bag might have felt a bit Debenhams MOB ish for their tastes.

Money no object & I’d have found a gorgeous church & had a low key but wonderful reception with best food, wine & flowers in Cotswolds.

Desdemonadryeyes · 28/12/2025 21:32

None of them have any class.

I do feel sorry for his parents though. The time they invested in his swimming success is enormous. To be dropped when they don’t fit in with his new in laws. And being played by the Daily Mail.

Hope they find a way through it.

ThisJadeBear · 28/12/2025 21:43

The whole thing became a shit show.
I don’t particularly like Adam - not sure why. But you can’t take away what he achieved as a swimmer and his parents had a lot to do with that. He appeared to appreciate that support until recently.
Fame and wealth are very seductive and I’m sure Gordon has become a de-facto dad, inspiring Adam to achieve more. I can’t stand Gordon, he’s cheated on his wife in the past so no role model to me.
I noticed Adam’s sister was at the hen and the wedding so he does have some family support.
The Beckhams. Couldn’t put my finger on it but they looked a bit off and Harper, who is a gorgeous young teenage girl, was dressed like a woman twice her age.
As for Adam’s mum I don’t care how hurt she is, selling her story to the Daily Mail is a disgraceful thing to do. Some of her family have too much to say. I’m not a huge fan of Meghan Markle but her family are rank.
As for Caroline not being invited to the hen I think that’s fine.
There is stuff going on that we don’t know about because this young man has airbrushed a seemingly devoted mother from his life. If it’s because her face doesn’t fit, that’s appalling, but there will be more to it.
Same with the Beckhams. I think Brooklyn has been seduced by the wealth of his bride’s family but I also think he’s had a lot to cope with. Tom Bower’s book about them suggests that Victoria leaned on Brooklyn too much, he knew about his father’s affairs. Again, we don’t know all the facts and nor should we.
The whole going NC seems to be so common now.
I cannot for the life of me imagine sitting down with a reporter to slag off a beloved son or daughter.

This! What's the big public interest? I've never heard of the bride (obviously her dad is well known, but I didn't know nor cared he had children), I've heard of Adam in the same way I've heard of other well decorated Olympians, but I know nothing nor care about his family. Yet their wedding is so well publicised, just why?

It's all about the PR to drum up work and payments for influencing , reality shows etc, . It's easier than working to make a living.

Perimenoanti · 28/12/2025 21:54

It's a myth that people cut someone off as soon as they don't fit or arent good enough. This is his mother. Cutting her off would be the hardest thing to do. Likely issues run much deeper and this was a final straw moment. The fact that they speak to press shows that they are unhinged. They are literally throwing a tantrum and it won't be the first one.

What exactly should Adam tolerate in exchange for a swimming career? Laughable take on things. For all we know the parents pushed him and he couldn't say no as much as he wanted. For all we know the parents pushed him because they enjoyed the glory. He has a talent and it isn't notable in any way for a parent to support that talent. It's what parents do. It's not like they won Olympic medals themselves and swam.

I would normally agree with this - but he is young and could easily get seduced

it’s the “Great Expectations” tale old as time - and he would have been under all that pressure with brides family - we know Gordon is a control freak! And the wedding coming and all that expectation

we don’t know if he intends to be NC - he probably intends to see them when dusts settles

Codyrhodesisaheel · 28/12/2025 22:06

He’s 31, so not that young? Perfectly normal age to get married and know what he wants.

the only people who are saying he has been “seduced by Gordon” are his mum and aunt. Who aren’t exactly going to say “yeah we’ve behaved like dickheads”

I genuinely can’t understand how anyone can take his mums alleged side when we know that it’s a fact that her/her sister have been talking directly to the press and that her son/his brother sent threats that were so unhinged he had to have multiple police escorts off a plane as the threat level was that significant.

MissMountshaft1 · 28/12/2025 22:10

He was not really known before outside Olympic circles - it’s a whole different world he has entered - his family look bad because they don’t know what they are doing and don’t understand press machine

we are all just speculating as noone really knows except them

Thisisnotmyid · 28/12/2025 22:15

His mum and aunt seem like an absolute joke, who honestly sells stories to the papers about your family?

Surely the fact his sister was a bridesmaid must tell you something about the mother? I wonder if Holly Ramsay ever posted on here how many would back her up if they got her side and not just the version Adams mum has put out. There’s always more than one side to every story!
