Does anyone else have a partner who did well this xmas? We have so many threads about partners being useless i thought it would be nice to have one where we big them up a little.

Mine got up first this morning and brought me a latte and some toast. He bought me some lovely, well thought out gifts - and was suitably happy and grateful with his own. We've been to the beach for a walk and now stuffed after Christmas dinner with his parents.

Come tell me your nice stories 😊

Mine bought me some lovely thoughtful presents, and then spent ages in the kitchen today making a gorgeous Turkey dinner (cooking is his domain, not mine, he’s much better at it!). Feeling very grateful for him today 🥰

Clefable · 25/12/2025 15:32

DH has done great. Gifts all spot on, things he knows I’ll love. He entertained kids while I went for a nap and now has just finished peeling all the potatoes!

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 25/12/2025 15:34

Same, lovely gifts, he has done the lions share of dinner and a very relaxing day so far.

Tryingatleast · 25/12/2025 15:34

Myself and dh not in a great place but I’ve been working awful hours in retail up until yesterday and he has everything sorted even though he had pretty awful hours recently too. Terrible as he got me the perfect for me gift and because of where we are I got him a ‘could have been anyone’ gift.

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 25/12/2025 15:35

DH asked me for a list and got me everything on it plus some surprises. He's looked after me so well after an unexpected seizure today, and he's now cooking Christmas dinner (he is an excellent cook). So grateful for him.

CrotchetyQuaver · 25/12/2025 15:37

Slightly off topic as I lost my DH in May so my 2xDd's, me and one DD's fiancé are navigating our first Christmas without him, and DH was the chef and so the absolute mainstay on Christmas Day. Presents from the kids were fantastic. Just about to sit down and start dinner, so far so good, and he is being remembered in a happy way with a lot of love all the time. I'm sure there will be tears, but they will be the right sort of tears rather than the doom and gloom kind...

Not too bad!

Husband has done really well today. He wrapped all the presents last night and then made coffee this morning and is now cooking the roast. It smells amazing, two meats and all the trimmings! He brought me a beautiful gift and will engage with the family to play games all evening. I couldn’t do it without him!

Jungleballsjungleballs · 25/12/2025 15:43

Bought me really thoughtful pressies - a personalised cat calendar using photos of my 2 babies, a book I really wanted and one about a subject I adore but hadn’t seen (surprise) some treats that I can eat (allergies), and currently he’s cooking the Christmas dinner after giving me a very large glass of wine to enjoy !

Absolute top bloke whom I love to bits and who always makes me feel so special.

Marmaladelover · 25/12/2025 15:44

It was my significant birthday yesterday . I got a bouquet of flowers in suffragette colours as well as being spoilt rotton. He is cooking at the moment.

IggyAce · 25/12/2025 15:44

My dh is a good egg, he got me some gorgeous gifts and a couple of lovely surprises.
He also cooked an amazing Christmas dinner, he loves to cooked & I am very grateful.

Flamingmentalcats · 25/12/2025 15:46

I have had some lovely gifts off my husband and he has been looking after me this week due to circumstances and I am very grateful for him
Crotchety, glad you are having a nice day x

hyggetyggedotorg · 25/12/2025 15:46

Yeah. I’ve had a bad year health wise & so previously DH’s presents to me have been whatever he can panic buy in TKMaxx on the 24th.

This year, DH & my grown up DCs gave a beautiful hamper of extremely thoughtful gifts.

Bought a tear to my eye it did 😉.

Isit2026yet · 25/12/2025 15:46

Mine has just stood in the kitchen for 4 hours cooking a very good lunch.

Peridot1 · 25/12/2025 15:47

Mine did well too. Is currently peeling a parsnip for me as I’m the only one who likes them. He does all the cooking most of the time. He has a spreadsheet with timings!

And he got me the Lego Home Alone house for Christmas. So chuffed.

This is wild.

A whole thread started about men doing what the average woman does on Xmas day because they have ‘done well’

Oooh what did you get? Not Christmas without a green bag 😍

WolfFoxHare · 25/12/2025 15:50

We live near a really famous landmark that I love. DH organised for DS(11) to get me a silver pendant in the shape of this landmark (eg something like a trilithon from Stonehenge, but not that). I was delighted when I opened the box, and they were both so happy with how pleased I am.

Fionasapples · 25/12/2025 15:51

My DH is great, we've been married for ages and I chose well! I got a lovely present and my family are visiting tomorrow and he's offered to cook as I cooked today. He's a really good cook too.

WolfFoxHare · 25/12/2025 15:52

Also I haven’t been feeling very well this week so he did the lion’s share of the cooking and the clearing up.

unrsnblyannoyd · 25/12/2025 15:54

DH has stayed fairly safe with presents this year but really outdid himself last night when I emptied the washing up bowl into the kitchen sink only for it to pour out from a leaking pipe under the sink. The usually DIY-allergic one tackled it and has done an excellent fix for 10.30pm Christmas Eve meaning we can wash up in the sink instead of the bathtub so whatever he’d got me was going to be absolutely fine!

Not sure this is the thread for you. I was fed up with reading negative stuff about men so thought I'd try to make something positive. You don't have to read it 🤷‍♀️

Thanks everyone else for your lovely stories, keep them coming ❤️

Same here, DH is brilliant. Always does his fair share and often a lot more to be honest. Been brilliant with the kids, helped me cook a fabulous Christmas dinner and got me some lovely presents including books, slippers, jewellery and a purse.

He absolutely loves Christmas and delights in making it really special for the kids, so that probably helps.

@Littlebitpsycho agree. @TheBeaTgoeson1 stop being negative it’s Xmas!

My DH got my Dad's old reel to reel tapes digitised as a surprise. I haven't heard my Mum's voice in 30 year's and Dad and Brother have also both since died. Might have shed a few tears.
