Disney songs in the office

I’m in a grump this morning anyway but oh my god. Disney songs on all morning and I just can’t deal with it. WIBU to turn them off and tell the person playing them to grow up? We’re an office of adults!

Love Disney songs. You’ll find no help from me.

JacquesHarlow · 23/12/2025 09:55

You are not being unreasonable. That sounds absolutely hideous. What is wrong with some people.

MirrorMirror1247 · 23/12/2025 09:57

Can't relate. I love Disney songs. Stick some musicals in there as well and you've got my perfect playlist! You're never too old for Disney!

101Alsatians · 23/12/2025 09:57

Just ask politely and non-snottily to change the music? I love Disney but even if it was on a relentless cycle I was just say 'I'm Mickey'd out,how about some Christmas songs/Black Sabbath' Adjust as to your preferences lol.

HeadyLamarr · 23/12/2025 09:58

I don't think Disney songs have an upper age limit. Bare Necessities is a classic for any stage of life.

Shedmistress · 23/12/2025 09:59

No you are totally fucking reasonable. Do you have your own headphones? Noise reduction if poss?

Grumblies · 23/12/2025 10:00

What's wrong with Disney songs? It's just music. If you want silence then I suggest you work from home.

Snowdropsaremyfavourite · 23/12/2025 10:00

I love Disney songs! I'd make things 10 times worse if I shared an office with you. I'd start singing.

Clearinguptheclutter · 23/12/2025 10:01

i couldn’t bear that. In the spirit of Christmas however I’d try and work out some kind of music rota so everyone can choose their playlists for part of the day

itsmeits · 23/12/2025 10:02

Depends on the office, head office or a big regional office no. One of the patch offices - wouldn't bother me.
TBH it would be a change from the xmas songs that have been on since November!

This is fascinating and so typical of modern Brits.

Someone who thinks they are "I'm a bit mad, me!" - you know the sort, using a surfeit of personality to cover up other deficiencies - whacking on stuff on the stereo at high volume, then challenging anyone to disagree.

"If you want silence then I suggest you work from home" - I just love the aggression in this. So it's two options only - Disney music or working from home. Got it.

It's obviously not Disney songs or silence but in an office you have to compromise.

The OP is clearly not one to compromise as she would have simply asked her colleague maturely like an adult to turn it down or change to something else but instead she chose to post a passive aggressive thread implying her colleague is not an adult simply because they enjoy a different type of music.

Agreed. My personal favourite though is from The Lion King - 'I just can't wait to be king.' I also love anything from Beauty and the Beast, Tangled and The Little Mermaid. Needless to say, our Disney subscription is well utilised. Life can get miserable. Disney gives me escapism.

PeachyKoala · 23/12/2025 10:26

Asking to turn it off/change music - not unreasonable
Telling them to grow up - unreasonable

Pepperedpickles · 23/12/2025 10:29

I can’t stand having to listen to anyone else’s choice of music, I’d rather just have silence or a generic radio station like Heart, but you’re being unreasonable for saying “grow up” about Disney, there’s no age limit for Disney!

awrbc81 · 23/12/2025 10:30

They should listen with headphones, some people like working with music on but some people few can’t!

Sidebeforeself · 23/12/2025 10:30

I’d have a huge issue with this.

If they played I Wanna Be Like You, I’d have to leap up and join in (including all the dance moves)

ffsrealy · 23/12/2025 10:31

I just find it so aggravating. It’s songs from kids films!

OP posts:
TroysMammy · 23/12/2025 10:32

I'd rather Disney songs than fucking Noddy Holder, Wizard and the other seasonal shit songs on a loop.

Disney films are not kids films. They’re universal.

RoseThorne · 23/12/2025 10:34

I'm behind you 💯. That would drive me absolutely nuts. It's for little kids. I don't know any adult who would listen to Disney without being forced to 😊

Harshreality · 23/12/2025 10:35

Disney Adults are tragic with a capital T. You are not being unreasonable. As a pp said, people latch on to Disney to give themselves a personality. Tragic. Get some Rage Against the Machine on instead

KimberleyClark · 23/12/2025 10:35

That sounds awful OP. As an adult without children I have not the remotest interest in Disney.

I'd rather Disney songs than fucking Noddy Holder, Wizard and the other seasonal shit songs on a loop.

I’d rather a bit of proper music to be honest!

I’m the grinchiest of grinches but even I would suck this up for 1 day right before Christmas! Stick your headphones in and listen to a playlist of your choice and let them crack on.
