We've had 2 birthdays in work today and I didn't join in with the singing of happy birthday. I hate it. Have a great day and all that but I don't feel the need to go and join in.

I also hate Christmas, it's a waste of money. Love the time with family but the rest of it can fuck off.

I also hate going for a wee and stopping for diesel.

What do you hate?

OP posts:
soocool · 05/12/2025 16:33

Christmas
The run up to Christmas
Christmas shopping and gift buying
Christmas decorations and tree
Christmas musak in every fkn shop. Why?
Having to get stamps for the three cards I still send to those far away.
Having meet ups with all and sundry, in December. I never want to see a Christmas menu again.
The total frenzy around the place, between full public transport, shops, roads, and a full me, because I'm eating my way through the pain of pre Christmas.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:35

Christmas should be every four years.
Olympics style.

Well, don't fuck them, then.

😆👏🏼

Lottapianos · 05/12/2025 16:37

'Christmas should be every four years.
Olympics style'

My mother in law used to say this, and it was one of the very few things that she and I agreed on! Every sodding year, the same old shit - it's TOO MUCH 🤦🏻‍♂️

Monty34 · 05/12/2025 16:38

Lots of restaurant table layouts.
I detest sitting so close to people who I do not know that I cannot have a private conversation. Sitting so close side by side with about a two inch space.
I won't eat in such places anymore.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:41

I picked up a cake that was ‘ eat by the 23rd Dec’
It made very angry, which is just irrational really lol

TeaBiscuitsNaptime · 05/12/2025 16:41

If I have to wait till pay day to do something, especially for my kid. It just feels like a waste of potential. A persons productive years are limited considering things like age/illness/caring responsibilities etc and by the time we mature the most productive time is between 30-45. Holding back growth because of money bugs me. It would be great if society worked on a system where if you need it you get it and if you don't, hand it over to someone who does. Or maybe it's just my weird perspective 😏

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:42

Trades people who charge a fortune because they can.

Sasha07 · 05/12/2025 16:42

Having to decide what to have for tea/dinner every fucking day for the rest of my existence.

Having to decide what to get while food shopping.

Washing cutlery. Pairing socks. Picking that little bit up from the counter after I've deep cleaned the whole kitchen and where tf did that even come from.

School receptionists.

People who are loud, opinionated but fucking thick as shit and not worth arguing with even though they're wrong and their logic is bad enough that it'll bring on a medical episode if I spent too long trying to figure them out.*

*Hate that I didn't use a comma or full stop and/or reframe that last rant so it reads too long but I hate that I have to put any effort into fixing it. So I won't.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:45

Having seen the tv schedule for this years Christmas , I feel that the tv companies have given up too.

Hufflebuffs · 05/12/2025 16:46

People that drive along taking videos of themselves singing along or chatting to post on social media. Twats of the highest order.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:48

Too many people think that they are invincible in a car. They are not. They need more respect.

BarbieShrimp · 05/12/2025 16:48

People who come to visit London, don't bother to learn how public transport works, and then get vocally bitchy at strangers around them as if they are the only sane person in the world.

Get your card out before you get to the barrier. Don't try to convince bus drivers to take cash. Don't stop in doorways. Stand on the right on escalators. Take off your big coat on the tube. Don't slow to a leisurely dawdle if you're taking up most of a walkway. And DON'T act shocked and horrified if you've chosen to travel at rush hour and you and your huge suitcase have to contend with packed tubes.

...and then don't mouth off loudly about how "Everyone's so rude! Why is it so crowded? Who on earth would live here?". You don't look clever and you're not going to make Londoners feel bad. Learn, or stay in your leafy paradises and watch Mama Mia on DVD instead.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:50

Barbie , get it off your chest ! 😂
your not wrong though.

I have so much pent up rage about the bloody tube, lol!

I swear I'm a very patient person but public transport brings out the demon in me.

Edited

When I grew up things like Fountain's Abbey, Brimham rocks etc etc all used to be free. Now it's over £23 for an adult and nearly £60 for 2 adults and up to 3 children for Fountains. And if they don't get you with tickets they'll get you with parking charges. So many things children will miss out on.

Putting the food shopping away. I HATE it.
Deciding what to eat for dinner every night. The ballache. I need someone just to feed me!

I love putting the food shopping away. It’s such a treat! Maybe I should get out more. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, I was thinking this yesterday eve. I don't think we even have the option to give up our devices anymore!! Id love to escape from the online world for a few weeks. Hide out in a jungle somewhere 😅

x2boys · 05/12/2025 12:34

People who unload a massive trolley full of stuff and only then realise they have to pay for it and start looking in bags and pockets for their purse

Lidl and Aldi customers who do this.
Don't they know the polite, customer friendly etiquette of Sainsbury's, Tesco etc do not apply here! 😂

Tryingnottobeamouse · 05/12/2025 17:04

Slamming doors. People who don't listen. MIL eating with her mouth open or while talking. Fireworks. Men who walk around with their hands down the front of their grubby grey joggers. Shellfish. People who let their dogs chase wildlife. Cleaning the car. Racists. Homophobes. Arrogance. People who think they can do and say what they like because they believe in God. Flashing Christmas lights. Fairgrounds. Hard sales tactics. Burpees. Artificial grass. Littering. Middle lane hoggers

Drones, and the people who think they're entitled to fly them everywhere.

Balloon releases - why on earth is littering thousands of pieces of plastic across the countryside a good way to honour someone's memory?

People who play loud music in their gardens or public places so that everyone in the vicinity is forced to listen to their choice of music

People who have the sound turned on on their phones or tablets in public places

Iceisnice · 05/12/2025 17:06

That the large Sainsbury's car park is full almost all the time.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 05/12/2025 17:15

People who do everything in a group: shopping, walking from a to b, going to the loo in a pub.

FlyingUnicornWings · 05/12/2025 17:16

coronafiona · 05/12/2025 12:18

Hoovering the stairs too

Honestly the worst job
