We've had 2 birthdays in work today and I didn't join in with the singing of happy birthday. I hate it. Have a great day and all that but I don't feel the need to go and join in.

I also hate Christmas, it's a waste of money. Love the time with family but the rest of it can fuck off.

I also hate going for a wee and stopping for diesel.

What do you hate?

MyRubyFox · 06/12/2025 18:45

Bottles of product (conditioner) where you can't squeeze the actual stuff out of. I have a bottle on the go now. Can't stand the bottle upside down because of a domed cap. Middle of bottle squeezed together in the middle. Loads of product left at the bottom. Have to add water to dilute to get it out. Life's too short!

Luckyingame · 06/12/2025 18:47

Spring.
I fucking hate and dread Spring since childhood.
😐

gingerninja · 06/12/2025 18:48

Comments on social media post saying ‘say it louder’ or ‘louder for the people at the back’ I honestly want to punch them in the throat for it.

Mum23plusC · 06/12/2025 18:51

The way my husband stores fucking shower gel upside down...and I dont mean to get the last dregs out (I'm all for that), I mean he does it when the fucking things full!! His trend of doing it has now started in the fridge - sauces and such. Here's the thing though - the fucking ketchup that has the lid at the bottom, he turns the other way round. I mean WTAF?!!!

Dogs.

There’s the ocean, get in it. From a plane.

I have neighbours who will stand there and chat while their dogs yap incessantly at each other, and have to talk over them. Stick your dogs in the house first, then chat!!!!

"Oh my lovely fido wouldn't hurt a fly!" After he's knocked a toddler off their feet and tried to bite a runner....!

The way shops and businesses are bending over backwards for these simpering creatures is ridiculous.

Catbakingbiscuits · 06/12/2025 18:54

Daily Mail
No headphones on public transport
people who beep horns unnecessarily when driving
Toxic masculinity
Going to a pub and there’s no seats
sticky dirty tables in pubs and cafes
Toenails
etc

MisunderstoodisanUnderstatment · 06/12/2025 18:56

People walking side by side blocking pathways.

People knocking you with prams/trolleys, charging at you and thinking they have right of way, as well as those knocking arm/shoulder when walking past with no thought for anybody in their way, and again no apology.
People who walk in your path and tell you excuse me as they knock into you in shops, because they cannot just take a different route/plenty of room to get past. . Apparently "excuse me" means they have the right to push past you. I think some just like to announce this even though there is more than enough room.
People pushing infront of you in queues because they know somebody.

People sitting next to you on public transport when there are loads of free seats, and I always find my self moving further into window seat so they're not leaning against me.

Drivers honking horns in street outside your houss nowhere near the house they're actually picking up from, esp at night. Just get out and knock on the damn door!

Honestly just people being rude in general.

BruhWhy · 06/12/2025 18:57

Getting stuck behind people who walk like fucking snails. I feel the rage bubbling under my skin, trying to burst free. I literally have to grit my teeth.

But I'd obviously rather die than say excuse me, so I just murder them in my head.

JustSawJohnny · 06/12/2025 19:21

People who take their tops off in summer.

People who drive up your arse.

Ed Sheeran songs (not him - he seems like a nice bloke. Just his songs).

Tommy Robinson/Farage/Reform/Trump/Musk/Tait lovers.

People who eat with their mouths open.

Gail Platt.

@Hicupping Yes! I used to go to Bolton Abbey/Strid Cafe as a kid and then as an adult. They suddenly started charging £5 to park at the Strid Cafe! I stopped going for that reason, God knows how much it is now. I miss out, because I absolutely love it round there, but I refuse to pay exorbitant prices for parking somewhere they shouldn't need to charge you to park!

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 06/12/2025 19:27

People who tutt at me because they are not looking where they’re going because they are glued to their phone…

Hicupping · 06/12/2025 19:29

£5! everyone wants their pound of flesh. Hope you've found another cafe just as nice but without £5 to park. Reservoirs are now pay to park, apparently a trial but funny enough trial period has passed and not a peep.

AgeingGreycefully · 06/12/2025 19:32

People who have a go at members of staff when the fault actually lies with the company as the issue is waaay above their pay grade! Give your head a little wobble, just think about it for a moment, take a deep breath and email the CEO, ok?👍🏻
Oh, and parsnips….🤢

New Years Eve. Spiders and slugs. Dogs without snouts. Bar stools. Smear tests. Populism. Standing in pubs. Illogical thinkers. Mobs. Shellfish. Terracotta paint. Putin-Trump-Farage. Left wing antisemites. Right wing Islamophobes. Bifold doors. The smell of bacon. Small print books. Primary colours. The lack of vocational career paths. Perfumed pantyliner. Posters who say Eww that's grim on MN threads about personal hygiene or housework. Framed prints of Kate Moss/Marilyn Monroe/Audrey Hepburn. Air freshener.

I could go on forever. I have so much hate it's exhausting.

i love your list but one thing stood out for me ‘small print books’. An e-reader lets you make the text whatever size you like. Doesn’t mean you’ve to buy a kindle. You can read books on whatever device you have. X

Fluffle55 · 06/12/2025 19:45

Seasonal decorations (excluding Christmas), that mean covering your lounge in tatt from The Range/Home bargains/B&M for Easter or Autumn and in particular, plastic wreaths on the door. I know I should just be happy for them, whatever brings you joy etc, but it’s consumerism at its worst. And it looks shit!
Lateness, rudeness, people who text and drive, gender reveals, enormous TVs, Audi and BMW drivers, chopping onions, showering, liars, emptying the food waste, Farage and his cronies. Gobshites having loud conversations in public. Fucking charity muggers.

M2B19 · 06/12/2025 19:47

Grating cheese
brushing my teeth at night
emptying the litter tray
edited to say: lateness - the height of rudeness in my opinion
talking with your mouth full
stickers that don’t peel off things without leaving behind residue to sticker bits

MoonWoman69 · 06/12/2025 19:51

Big Bang Theory, just the sound of them talking sends me into an irrational rage.
Love Island, MAFS, Made In Chelsea, you get the picture, all inane, pointless drivel.
Supermarket cashiers who engage in someones recital of their whole life story after they've paid, you've got a job to do, get on with it. You wouldn't be doing that if it was piecework!
Night driving. I can't see a thing and bright LEDs and rain don't help. Even on roads I have driven on hundreds of times.
The passenger door on my car. It decides on the day if it's going to unlock with the central locking or not.
Cruel people, to both animals or other people.
Narcissists.
GP receptionists, most of them have over inflated senses of importance.
Influencers.
Hot flushes well past finishing the menopause.
People who don't take no for an answer. I said no, accept it ffs!
Screaming kids, kids running round in cafes/pubs/restaurants.
Entitlement.
Bragging.
Mercenary people.
People speeding round our crescent when it's a 20 zone.
There are 100s more, but I'll stop there! :0)

Pairofsocks · 06/12/2025 19:51

Buffet work lunches where you have to take something in. We have 1 coming up. I hate that there's no list so people always bring too much of something .Plus homemade stuff when you don't know how clean people are when they're cooking. Everyone standing there looking at you whilst you are putting things on your plate.
Jumper days at work. False jollyity at work. Let's all wear a fucking Christmas jumper and then have a Christmas lunch buffet together and pretend we're having a fantastic time. The 2 together are my major hates and I can't even get out of it. If I'd have known I'd have taken annual leave but can't now as the deadline has gone.

restingbitchface30 · 06/12/2025 19:54

Food shopping and deciding what everyone eats for the rest of my life. I have had enough. I just want to live off pot noodles and toast

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2025 19:55

Life and how odd it is gets me down. So much uncertainty around jobs, job being lost and the younger generation having it so much harder than my own. Despite what they may say online .,
I find it depressing tbh.

Festivespirit85 · 06/12/2025 20:10

Negative people - the ones who have a problem to every solution.
People who turn up to my house without ringing or texting first.
Needy/clingy folk.
People that chew loudly or slurp their food/drinks.
The word knickers.

Motherfucking crumbs in the motherfucking Lurpak.

Sometimes when I open that tub it contains more bread than butter Envy

No motherfucking jury would convict.

Ugh.

Wearescrewed · 06/12/2025 20:18

Farage and Racist thickos
Boris Johnson and Cameron who also have a part to play in where we are now.
Jeremy Corbyn, huge narcissist and see above. Also has a part to play in the crap we wading through now.
Thats the politics out of the way!

noisy eating
Tea slurping
Passive aggressive managers
Performative anything, particularly parenting.
Stupid dog owners whose actions or lack of them make others uncomfortable
People who show no interest in community or politics but moan all the time, doing nothing about it.
Puppy Farms and the fact buying certain breeds repeatedly enables these, and the fact people don’t give a shit about that.
Cliquey parent groups

lots lots more!

Yes, that's why I read everything on a tablet or kindle now. It's not as nice as a real book, but it means I can read at all.

Growlingbadger · 06/12/2025 20:56

Yes. You can be selective.
