To think we should have the option to have the laughing emoji on our threads

Just that. Why can't we have an option to have the laughing emoji's on if we want and off if we don't?

I've some really funny ( not bitchy, just genuinely funny ) comments lately. I miss being able to laugh react to ones that amused me

No I'm just fed up of MNHQ listening to the chosen few.

I'm pretty sure that those going through bereavement, miscarriage, fertility issues or the loss of a child don't consider themselves "the chosen few"

You are misunderstanding the poster’s understanding.

I do understand your point but @EchoedSilence has a point too.

Edit. Shit! I tried to stop using the word ‘point’ and ended up using ‘Understanding’ too much!

Fuckin’ ‘ell.

@Petpeeveoftheday why not start a thread in Site Stuff and link to this one?

Currently 87% have said YANBU so maybe MNHQ might consider your idea?

MN doesn’t remove some outrageous posts so can’t see them removing anonymous emojis.

As I said upthread I’m quite robust but didn’t like being on the receiving end of these emojis.

I agree with this. I enjoy debate. I love an articulate re direction and this has had a real influence on me on MN.

I have views that some won't like and i would be categorized as a certain person for expressing that. I'm therefore in the camp of letting people speak their truth and we can all debate that.

My point is, no way is this laughing emoji situation in any way in the same category of eroding freedoms as posters suggest. It is not ' hurty word's' insanity, censorship of free speech etc etc. I am one of the most outspoken people I know.

Yet - this laughing emoji shit that I received ( not on my knees luckily at the time) - it really was unpleasant even for me. It silos you because it's just you getting it and no one sees it. If you're on your absolute arse and some pea brain twat sends you that - it is not ok for me thanks. However, if that person has the balls and brains to articulate a challenge in a post then I'm ok with that. I will jump on and challenge anything that's simply nasty bullying like behavior. ( Not the same as saying 'I don't agree' to be clear,)

Let us see the fuckers emojis applied to each post and I'm good for the return of laughing face.

🤣😂😆

As an emoji I thought it depicted a cruel face that was showing derision with the capability to wish to humiliate.
Is there not a a more neutral emoji anywhere that merely depicts amusement.
I would rather a simple Thumbs Down to show disagreement. Not a derisory laugh.
