My girl is having her kittens! First one is here squeaking and healthy!

Second is imminent.

I think she’ll have 4 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Hi OP
Your kittens are GORGEOUS. And well-done to your mama cat.
I am most definitely not digging at you here, as you seem like a lovely owner. However I have just taken on a rescue cat (3 weeks ago!). She is one year old and has already had her first litter. Her growth is stunted because her stupid previous owner didn’t get her spayed. She is honestly tiny, like a kitten herself. Not only that, but she and her kittens were parasite ridden and full of diarrhoea. That’s why the owner gave them to the shelter, as she couldn’t cope.
I’m now in the difficult situation of owning a cat who still has the runs - the Giardia presumably having come back (stool sample sent away so awaiting results) - and because it’s pre existing, I am not covered with insurance and am being hit with veterinary bills from the off.
I could honestly cry, as I’m picking up the pieces of shit pet ownership.
If I could go back, I’d never have taken her. But she’s here now and I’m powerless 🥰😄 Again, OP, this has nothing to do with you 💕 I guess I’m just thinking about the importance of spaying.
Best of luck with being a cat gran! 😁

Thank you for your message. I know I’m being very careful and watchful with them and planning to take them with mum to the vet to be checked over next week.

I completely understand why you’d be so upset for both yourself and your lovely cat.

I hope she’s better soon.

My comprehensive skills?! You don’t like what you are being told which is why you are unable to answer my questions.

I am asking these questions as someone who works in the microchipping of animals industry and can see from records spanning across multiples databases how many cats are out there either unregistered or have out of date details.

I know how many calls I take from people whose cats are missing and also how many chips are registered to rescue accounts and how many are registered to stray accounts which are from cats who have been trapped, neutered and microchipped but the rescues are unable to keep them in rescues because they are feral and can’t be rehomed so all they can do is release them again but at least they are registered.

Perhaps if the microchipping system didn't charge such an exorbitant fee to just change a tiny bit of information then it would get updated. I'm not coughing up £11.00 to tell you that my beloved cat has passed away. 3 years after she had gone I still could not do it and just sat there staring at the screen sobbing. I'm crying now as I miss her so much.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve lost two cats in my life and it was utterly awful. I still find it hard to remember my childhood cat and he died nearly 30 years ago 😢

Thank you. The kittens are adorable

We've had a lot of cat but this one has hit the hardest. Its been 5 years and I still don't like going in the kitchen late at night when we've put the other cats to bed as that is where she used to sleep.

We have two cats now which we ended up with by accident but I won't have any more after this I really can't cope with the grief anymore

Just checking in + saw last night's photos. Been following since birth.
Gorgeous mum + babies!
Thanks for updates, OP.

LizzieW1969 · 19/11/2025 20:39

They really are gorgeous kitties, OP, and lovely pics. I’m looking forward to seeing photos of them once their eyes have opened, which will happen very soon now!

Looks like MNHQ swung the hammer on the wrong comment. Sigh.

I won't criticise their decisions.

You really need to stop winding people up.

I haven't wound anyone up!

I don't know what you mean.

I love Scrump, I hope your DH gets to keep him/her

Unicorn34 · 20/11/2025 09:42

Just caught up with the photos since birth night. They are so gorgeous (including mum). I have one fully black cat, two tuxedoes and one very naughty tabby... Will always have a black one somewhere!

I don't think I'd be able to let any go!

This is a main reason why I'd be a terrible cat fosterer. As adorable as they are, I'd never let them go, I'd be like the crazy cat lady from The Simpsons.

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/11/2025 11:30

You have to have a pretty specific mindset for fostering. Love them but stay detached & always remember that they’re temporary & there will be another one coming, because there’s an endless number of homeless / abandoned cats & kittens.

Having said that, it only works until you meet Your Cat who is clearly not going anywhere.

We have open eyes on Scrump!! They are getting so big and loud!

Each and every one adorable. This is great. All the fun, none of the work 🤣
DS will have cats, it seems. He’s allergic to dogs, but hasn’t been to his GFs Ragdoll.

Gorgeous kitties, it’s a lovely moment when kittens open their eyes.

Kittenwatch · 22/11/2025 09:52

They are perfect. I’m so pleased they’re all doing well and mum is recovering nicely too.

Ooh, hello sweetheart! I hope everything you see will always be a Good Thing 😽🐾🙏🏻

What a darling! And I just noticed what very aristocratic, slim tootsies Mum has. Clearly a moggie with a fancy element in her past. She’s lovely x

Kittenwatch · 22/11/2025 15:22

@Millytante you know what? She IS fancy - I was trying to articulate it a while back and that’s exactly what she is - fancy!
