Rude woman

I doubt that anyone will have anything to add to this. Anyway.

i took up golf recently. I parked and went to the course and hit a ball that went into the trees and ball was lost. I was kicking myself as all my spare balls were in the car. I went back to the car to get more. This woman got out of her car in front of mine and laughed openly at me. You didn’t stay there long. Apparently she was in her car waiting to go for the train so had saw me going to the course and coming back 10 mins later. I didn’t engage. I got some more ball put them in trolley and headed back down. She started shouting omg she’s heading back and laughing literally uproariously. I just ignored her and went on my way.

My Aibu is that i hear this in my head and dream of going back to her and whacking her around the legs with a golf club. At least i should have said something to her? Her loud laughter at me really rankles.

Might be best to ignore her and move on with your life.

Namechanged999999 · 30/10/2025 19:12

That’s what I did.

Yeah she’s a cunt. Unfortunately cunts are everywhere.
Even in the wild.

Namechanged999999 · 30/10/2025 19:14

I said nothing and am now annoyed with myself. In similar situations have people stuck up for themselves and felt better?

Obviously shouting at her about my balls would have increased her hilarity. Anyway, i didn’t think it would be a thread people would have anything to say about. Maybe i will learn that sticking up for myself at the time would stop me dwelling on things.

You are right unfortunately. These cunts don’t realise that many people are already struggling to cope and they are making things worse. But yes. She just felt like attacking me.

its by no means the worst thing that’s happened to me in recent years but it came so far out of the blue when I was just doing a thing that I’ve come to love.

Yes she was a very strange, sad person that can’t find happiness from within, so was hoping to annoy you and get a reaction so that she could gloat and feel better-what you did was the best option.

Namechanged999999 · 30/10/2025 19:23

It’s also something that happened me that no one else in real life knows about apart from her. It’s very recognisable. Maybe she is on here and can comment on her behaviour?

OP posts:
THisbackwithavengeance · 30/10/2025 19:23

You are massively overreacting. I’d’ve laughed with her and told her I’d lost my ball. Maybe she’s seen you around and was trying to strike up a conversation with you and trying (clearly unsuccessfully) to be funny.

Don’t think the worst of people.

Maybe so. I was there though and i don’t think so.

It is some feedback that i will take on board though. I know i overreact to things. Internally at any rate. Without anyone knowing.

I could have engaged with her and explained situation. Tbh as soon as she got out of her car i took an immediate dislike to her. She looked very arrogant and superior and everything she said from that point on reinforced that.

Some people just never get out of the mean girl phase, I encounter this from time to time. Usually idiots shouting from the safety of passing cars

This! Some people don’t have anything about them that makes them feel good about themselves, so they have to try to put other people down to make themselves feel better by comparison. She must be absolutely miserable.

Namechanged999999 · 30/10/2025 19:35

I did just ignore her. The dream of going back and whacking her very hard in the legs with a golf club is just that. A dream. No point in ending up in jail and in the wrong for an idiot who does not know how to behave. I am very unviolent and unreactive in real life. I never would whack anyone with anything. But i still dream of an alternative reality where she got her legs whacked and was screaming rather than laughing uproariously!

OP posts:
UnhappyHobbit · 30/10/2025 19:36

That’s awful, she sounds tapped! She clearly gets off on putting people down and that is such a bad personality trait. Don’t kick yourself for not replying, you didn’t owe her an explanation for why you were going back to your car. She owes you one for being a nosey cow! Don’t take it personally, hard not to when these things happen. She is the problem here, not you

Namechanged999999 · 30/10/2025 19:41

Thanks all for understanding. It’s another upsetting incident that i will put in the past and stop thinking about. It is gone. Xx

I didnt hear the tone she said it in, and she could have been mocking you as you felt. But when we are overwhelmed and struggling we are primed to look for and expect attack. It is possible she was trying to make a joke with you but it did not land.

This! Christ, some people have issues!

Caleb64 · 30/10/2025 20:14

Bitch, cunt, motherfucker. I hope her next shit is a hedgehog! I totally empathise, sometimes it just takes something like this to tip you over the edge. Ignore the people saying you’re overreacting. I bet you never overreact normally and it’s fine to want to vent. I’m imagining her stepping on Lego on your behalf.

Bluebottlerecycling · 30/10/2025 20:16

I’m all for sticking up for myself but in this case ignoring and carrying on was absolutely the right thing to do.

Some people are just very unpleasant and really aren't worth a single moment your time.

Did you have fun playing in the fresh air? Are you proud of yourself for learning a new sport and putting on the hard work to develop your skills? Those are the only things that are important.

OriginalUsername2 · 30/10/2025 20:22

Honestly, it’s better not to engage with these people. I’m sure anyone that knows her would see her and hide. We all know a twat or two.

FairFuming · 30/10/2025 20:24

Tbh someone like that isn't worth wasting energy on. To get out of her car to mock you is weird behaviour and you dont know if she's just a sour old boot or a psycho who might have escalated if you'd said anything.
Imagine whacking her in her gob with your club and remember that it's her that has the issues not you and definitely don't let it dampen your hobby

AzureCats · 30/10/2025 20:28

I think after the first comment I would have said "yeah I forgot something, rookie error eh" and tinkly laugh because I assume she's just doing that thing of saying Captain Obvious statements out loud for no real reason.
Weird that she kept pushing though when you left again, I would have also ignored her after that.
Put your phone down and go do something nice for yourself so you can forget about her and her meaness. It says more about her for sure.
