AIBU to consider voting Green even though I’m gender critical?

I stumbled across a couple of reels where he was interviewed by Carole (surname unknown shouty presenter) and he really kept his cool and spoke very well.

I’ve just gone down a rabbit hole on his instagram page and can see the Greens are surging and I agree with so much of what he says. It’s refreshing and positive and nothing like the doom and gloom and hatred that comes from Reform.

I am tempted to join them. To feel like I’m doing something to try to change and shape a better future in politics.

my concern is that I am gender critical and they are quite the opposite to me in views. Should I put this aside for the greater good?

AIBU to consider voting green despite this difference in gender critical view?

Can you not see how wrong it is that a political party considers what "Melissa"'s sees as womanhood and how women live to be a more authorative definition of women and womanhood than how female people see ourselves and how we actually live?

It's as if they said Ali G is better qualified to define Blackness than Black people.

Top post.

Those of us who are concerned about the environment are placing trust in scientists. The Green Party presumably do this. Yet when it comes to biological sex they've decided to ignore the settled science and pretend that sex is a spectrum, large numbers of people are neither male nor female, young children know they have been born in the wrong body, etc etc. It's utter nonsense and makes me doubt that they have any capacity for critical thought. The Scottish Greens went into coalition with the SNP and that was a disaster. I don't have any higher expectations of the England and Wales Greens. They won't get my vote again unless they make some enormous changes in their policies and stop banning long-standing members for believing in the reality and importance of biological sex.

I presume that poster has no understanding of what NATO actually is.

I presume that poster has no understanding of what NATO actually is.

Fixed that for you.

Hoppinggreen · 17/10/2025 13:55

Like most of the Green Party he has a slim grasp of reality.
I bloody hate Lefty Woke Bros, biggest misoynists out with an added layer of hypocracy

lifeturnsonadime · 17/10/2025 14:01

How can environmental concerns and putting confused young people on cocktails of drugs because they don't fit gender stereotypes a consistent position anyway?

The Green Party is deluded and has completely lost it's way in favour of misogynistic pseudo religion.

And the Nato stuff is equally bonkers.

JeminaTheGiantBear · 17/10/2025 14:09

I loathe his views on single sex spaces & women’s rights.

I may well vote for him, however, because I believe that in the UK our rights, prosperity, health, freedom, democracy, job security, social cohesion & natural environment are being annihilated- deliberately destroyed by ‘politicians’ who aren’t really politicians at all, just corrupt paid lackeys of huge corporations & financial interests, asset stripping what’s left of our national infrastructure before they gleefully escape to their tax havens, leaving ordinary people impoverished, unhealthy, & desperate in a shattered society.

I disagree with ZP abour many things- but I think he’s a genuine politician, with a conscience, who wants to improve the lot of ordinary people. That means he can be reasoned with- whereas other ‘politicians’ are unprincipled lowlife, who can only be bought. All they listen to is money: I don’t think that’s true of him.

I also think the huge media campaign to ridicule & demonise him reflects this. Those who rule us really, really don’t want us realising where our real interests lie. We all need to be terrified of ‘Putin’ and ‘bad immigrants’ and ‘Farage’ while the ruling class cashes in & our children’s future is destroyed. Trans ideology is really useful in this respect; it’s a great way of dividing ordinary people, which is exactly why it has been pushed by so many huge financial institutions & corporations. It’s a weapon.

Don’t let them win.

SeriouslyAgain · 17/10/2025 14:16

I won't vote Green again until they start to actually think, rather than repeat silly unscientific mantras.
They are meant to be left wing yet allegedly can't see the links between the 'trans rights' activists and large corporations - from pharma, through US health care, to all the corporations using it as an easy EDI point score which actually works against women, minorities, those with a disability, sustainability etc.
They clearly have no understanding of biology, but also no understanding of the inherent problems with current untrammelled global capitalism, and that is a very poor starting point for a party which allegedly wants to change things.

Northquit · 17/10/2025 14:20

Never vote for someone who ignores really basic biology.

Julie Bindel's article on the Greens and women. https://unherd.com/2025/10/the-green-partys-war-on-women/

Edited

VERY illuminating read! Thanks for posting.

I had no idea they were so anti women.

tara66 · 17/10/2025 14:40

I have voted (by post) Green in the past only because if I don't vote my door bell rings about 13 times on Polling Day by people from parties telling me to go to vote for them. They somehow know if one hasn't voted. Don't want to do that again so may just spoil my paper next time as there is no one I want to vote for especially this Polanski man ( any relation to Roland?).

Enterthewolves · 17/10/2025 14:49

EasternStandard · 17/10/2025 07:43

This is madness, it’s not a good idea to leave NATO.

They don’t want to leave NATO

arethereanyleftatall · 17/10/2025 07:54

His stance on trans isn’t just about trans. It’s about lies. He stands up there and proudly shits on women by saying men can be women. Even though he knows they can’t. It shows misogyny and duplicity.

This. And people are gobbling it up!

If you mean Roman, no. Zach and Polanski are both assumed names (stage name?). Can't remember his real name.

Wellnowlookhere · 17/10/2025 14:57

Do you not think there is a huge risk the greens can actually do fuck all about prosperity, health, freedom and social cohesion if in power, but will then additionally trample all over women and their remaining rights on top of that quagmire of crap? That is far too big a risk for me, to vote for a party where this guy thinks breasts can be convinced to grow under hypnosis is in charge. Leave him with the economy and my right to single sex spaces?
No thanks. Turkeys voting for Christmas.

anamo · 17/10/2025 14:58

The Greens were green once and I supported their eco vigilance.

They have gone down a rabbit hole of madness and causes that are a bit crazy, and have thus lost their founding principles.

That's a no from me now.

Absolutely this!

What I’ve noticed with the Greens and Your Party is they’re a bit like the Respect lot years ago - they’re a Trojan horse for very sinister identity or foreign policies, made to appeal to the less intelligent of the masses by quickly adding at the end ‘and we’ll tax the rich so you can have everything for free’.

hellowhaaat3632 · 17/10/2025 15:05

I used to vote Green but now it's where all the nutters aggregate, so i would avoid if i were you

I mean, if you look on Reddit, it's where the craziest ones say they'll be heading

midgetastic · 17/10/2025 15:10

The environment challenge we face is unbelievably complicated and multi dimensional requiring innovative and sometimes hard solutions

if they get distracted by gender issues and can’t tell sex from gender why on earth would I join them ? No credibility at all

Abra1t · 17/10/2025 15:11

Pollqueen · 17/10/2025 08:07

Are you confusing NATO with the UN? What pray, has NATO to do with Israel and Palestine??

I was wondering this!

But he is either
a - batshit crazy and believes humans can change sex
b - misogynist who believes women don’t deserve tights
c - lying about believing humans can change sex.

these are all very good reasons no one should believe a single word he says.

PrincessFluffyPants · 17/10/2025 15:44

I'm so glad this thread popped up, I had only just been talking about the Green Party with my window cleaner who had told me he had just joined them (for £4?). My window cleaner had zero knowledge of the women's rights/GC issues, (even though he has daughters) but he said he had voted for them for the huge taxation they were planning "on the rich" and for their ecological credentials and also he thought ZP would make a great leader for the UK. I was skeptical but came from the door step to check the Green Party website but struggled to get the info I wanted to see and I certainly couldn't see that their stance on women's rights had changed. I was planning to put a post on here but got distracted. My post was to ask, are the Green Party worth joining/voting for now? And it seems it's still a big fat NO.

Voting for someone based on their diet is bonkers.

Oh I do wish we still had the laugh emoji?! I thought exactly the same!

Paul2023 · 19/10/2025 20:20

The Green Party are ok to vote for when it comes to local elections, like when the council want to turn a cricket pitch into housing. The Greens are good to object to those such things.

However, into Government the Greens would be would be lunacy. They’d bankrupt the country within six months , that someone else would have to take over.

Have you heard Zach Polanski speak? He wants open borers his solution on the economy is just to tax rich people.. Labour tried that any many rich people are leaving.

Have you heard about when Zach Polanski said he could hypnotise women to make their breasts grow? Don’t believe me , he even admitted it recently on Question Time.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 19/10/2025 21:20

Shame really as I would love to find a left of centre, environmentally concerned, gender realist, party.

Isn't this the dream @Alquilarque

hollyblueivy · 21/10/2025 13:11

The news this week has gone nuts for this party and there seems to be a real momentum behind them.

Where does that leave us mumsnetters that stick two fingers up to Reform, but cannot bring ourselves to vote Green?
