AIBU to consider voting Green even though I’m gender critical?

I stumbled across a couple of reels where he was interviewed by Carole (surname unknown shouty presenter) and he really kept his cool and spoke very well.

I’ve just gone down a rabbit hole on his instagram page and can see the Greens are surging and I agree with so much of what he says. It’s refreshing and positive and nothing like the doom and gloom and hatred that comes from Reform.

I am tempted to join them. To feel like I’m doing something to try to change and shape a better future in politics.

my concern is that I am gender critical and they are quite the opposite to me in views. Should I put this aside for the greater good?

The OP very much reads as though it is written by a member of The Green Party, trying to encourage Mumsnetters to pop aside our gender critical views to support The Green Party. I would never vote Green, not only because Zack Polanski thinks people can change sex but because of his clear hatred of women.

Neither Israel nor Palestine are NATO members.
NATO is a self-defence alliance. An attack on one is an attack on all.
It is not about intervening in conflicts not affecting NATO members.
The Green's policy on NATO is ludicrous and that alone is enough to stop me voting for them.

I'm a carer in Liverpool. I've been accused of living in Israel on here and now I'm apparently right wing media. It's beyond ridiculous. I used to think conspiracy tinfoil hatters were right wing but I was wrong, they're definitely on the self-ID left (which isn't left in the slightest of course but that's another thread).

Anyway, as someone who's voted Green in the past I wouldn't touch them with someone else's shitty bargepole.

His views on gender are totally nuts, and he sees no need to protect biological women.

The Scottish greens are total and utter moon howling lunatics. But they’re also really, really unintelligent. The marginal tax rate for those earning £100-£125k was 64% but the Scottish Green ms thought that people weren’t paying enough so upped it to 67%. I like to think that’s because they are utterly thick as mince rather that envious and vindictive but who knows. Raised next to nothing because no one wants to pay that much. The wealth tax would be a terminally stupid policy and yet the greens are all for it.

They want to take other peoples wealth because they’re too lazy to earn their own.

They do have some truly bizarre and dangerous ideas that I simply can’t vote for. It’s a shame, because they also have some very good ideas, that I can get on board with, and I think they very often do a good job at local level.

I have never considered that NATO would defend anyone other than Europe and us. Certainly don't expect them to defend a nation of brown(ish) people. They exist to support member countries and Palestine is not one of them.

Can you not see how wrong it is that a political party considers what "Melissa"'s sees as womanhood and how women live to be a more authorative definition of women and womanhood than how female people see ourselves and how we actually live?

I defy anyone to watch the first 10 seconds of this official Green Party video and not cringe themselves inside out. The tiktok tit wizard's public persona is as calculated and cynical as those created by Boris or Farage.

My view is that we need sensible people on the left who are prepared to challenge the position on gender. So if you like what the greens are saying, consider joining them, and become a voice for women from within the party.

I've seen what is done to women (and men) who try to do that.

A lot of us have been following the shitshow that is the green party for years. ZP is now doubling down hard.

Even if I could put aside the greens' insane belief that men are women if they say so, even if I could ignore ZP's stated policies of legislating to reverse the supreme court decision and to reverse the ban on puberty blockers, I cannot support a party that operates in such an anti-democratic way or one that has such little respect for the law.

I'm just surprised they are not yet bankrupt.

I joined the green party decades ago because of my serious concerns about the environment, which at the time nobody but the green party was taking seriously. I think that, before they were the green party they were associated with the ecology party. I’m not sure about that.

I never expected that they would turn into the party that they have become and I will not vote for them until they change their bizarre policies and refocus on the environment and climate change. Having said that, my admiration for Caroline Lucas is unchanged.

The Greens policy positions are rainbows and unicorns, they live in a fantasy world. They don't understand life is full of trade-offs and compromises.

They want you to have stuff - benefits, housing, nature, etc. - but it has to be perfectly delivered. A few rich have an infinite well of cash to pay for it all (yes, there is a case for specific higher taxes when Rishi Sunak's tax rate is half my tax rate). Not a blade of grass or newts/ bats/ badgers must be disturbed in building a house or or any infrastructure.

He calls himself a 'proud lesbian' which is a fucking horrible thing for a man to do. He also has socials filled with sissy porn. He thinks being a woman is so humiliating it gives him a hard on. That's fucking horrible.

NATO is a defensive alliance. Palestine is not a member so why would NATO get involved?

You can never vote on one single issue - you’ve always got to work out which party best aligns to you across the board and vote for them. You don’t have to marry them.

Or you can stand yourself/ form your own party.

I don’t think I’ve ever agreed 100% with any party re anything.

Im not happy re the leaving NATO stance, nor do I think they’re right re gender issues. I like their positions on billionaires and social justice, and the environment.

I’ll have to see how things look come the next election!
