Light hearted. I dislike my mum's boyfriend. I am sick of his constant grunting when i ask him a question. It is like he is incapable of saying yes or no to a simple question. He is a terrible bus driver. He drives like he is on a race track.

As a slim person, this isn't true for me, I don't fight with myself to not have a larger portion, I eat whatever I want and sometimes stuff myself to bursting. However, 'whatever I want' seems to be less in terms of volume than what most other people eat. I've never eaten a full three course meal because I simply can't manage that much food, I think the size of my stomach must be smaller than most other people's or something, although I also don't naturally gravitate towards the larger portion of food if there's a choice as other people seem to, it doesn't bother me whether I have a large portion of something or not.
If people want to use fat jabs because it improves their lives then good, I'm glad for them. Having the freedom to eat 'whatever you want' like I do and not continually think about calorie content and fat content on a daily basis, probably makes them much happier, so good for them.

I agree with this. I was an effortlessly slim person til my second child, never gave it much thought and if I felt a couple of pounds go on, I'd briskly walk for a few days and off it would come. Since then, and going on medication and getting older and peri/menopause, it's like night and day, the weight clings, I don't eat crazy amounts but I always put it on and whatever I do to try and lose it, for months of abstention, has very little effect. Even on the weight loss jabs, I was a slow loser who didn't lose more than 1lb a week and ended up having to stop at still overweight. I didn't judge people when I was slim, I realised I was lucky.

I regret my entire career & loathe my job, but I’m too close to retirement to walk away now.

I understand that completely. My entire working life was in finance and corporate banking, but so much changed in the years leading up to my retirement that the career I used to love became a nightmare and stressed the hell out of me!
Bide your time if retirement is coming.

A very good friend no longer speaks to me because I refused her demand that I break off friendship with her ex in order to keep hers. There are faults on both sides and she has a new partner (there was an overlap.) but what neither my friend or her ex know is that I know she had another affair while still with ex.

Outwardly, I’m politically tolerant, liberal & centrist. I voted Labour last year and Remain in 2016.

Inwardly, I hate what 25 years of uncontrolled mass immigration has done to this country. I hate the divisions & ghettoisation it has caused. I hate the fact that my local city has degenerated into a third world cesspit. I don’t blame the migrants themselves, although I don’t want to live anywhere near them. I blame the mainstream politicians for allowing it to happen. I will vote Reform at the next election, although I obviously won’t tell a soul IRL. There are millions like me.

I can believe a lot of people think like you, as the polls/election results keep proving. I am not outwardly leftie, but I don't speak out about how I feel either. I am very guarded, and don't think anyone needs to know my views. They are private.

I wish no ill on any immigrants and welcome all legal ones, but like you (and many others) I am sick of nothing being done about all the illegal ones, and how they're just happily welcomed by the government, housed, given money, given help etc.. They are looked after more than some UK citizens (eg, pensioners!)

Labour said they would put a lid on it when they were trounced by Reform in May, but so far, they have done fuck all about it. I loathe and despise Labour more than I ever loathed the Tories, and I will NEVER vote for them again. Not sure I will vote for Reform though, as I don't agree with some of their policies and I feel they are quite misogynistic - and Reform being in won't be great for women. I need to look much more into them before I make a decision.

Football is over rated. I always turn it off when a team is parking the bus as it sends me to sleep.

I sometimes think I'd quite like to lose everything in a house fire, just to get rid of all the crap in my house. (With my family and the cat safely outside.)

What is it about these elaborate cake bakers? I have tasted no less than THREE of these cakes this past year - all look amazing, like genuinely stunning, but taste of nothing. So incredibly bland. Why can these clearly talented (artisically) people baking them, not make them taste good too? Anyone know???

I think it can be two different skills. Just like amazing cake bakers can’t necessarily decorate so the same can be said of the decorator. Just a shame they don’t taste their cake to check it’s nice (they should taste the bits they carve off before decorating).

Which presumably would include a jab to curb your psychological urge for food if you hadn't been able to control it any other way.

You've compared weight loss jabs to using performance enhancing drugs in competition, but it's a completely false equivalence because weight loss isn't a competition. You seem to think it is, but it isn't. All this shows is that you feel in competition with these people. You're not, though. Their medical treatments to help solve their weight and psychological problems are nothing to do with you or anyone else at all. It simply isn't a competition.

You’re entitled to that opinion. You’re entitled to tie yourself in knots to explain why my opinion is wrong, using semantics.
It’s irrelevant to me as I still think good old will power is to be applauded more

I'm so over ALL immigration. I want to walk around my neighborhood and high street and hear English being spoken. I rarely hear it, just a mix of foreign languages being spoken. I don't want to feel like I'm abroad in my own country.

I feel exactly the same
This is England,so speak English

Make it the best 3 years of your life to the best of your capacity.

I'm sorry you're going through this though. I understand why you'd not want to tell anyone, I think I'd be the same.

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 15/10/2025 10:35

@Jtfrtjinteresting that you seem to accept that “naturally skinny” is a thing - do you not think that some people have naturally bigger frames, and that they really struggle to lose weight regardless of what they eat? Or is it a one way thing - you can be naturally thin or disciplined, both of which are good, but if you’re fat you’re inevitably a greedy disgusting pig?

CrispsPlease · 15/10/2025 10:36

I always say how busy I am on my days off work but the truth is I procrastinate constantly. I usually have a long nap, laze about and do absolutely nothing. I'm really lazy.

Spiderx · 15/10/2025 10:36

Uh oh...if Reform get in just make sure you are a white male born in this country ...everyone else will be f▪︎cked. And btw I am a white male born in this country but hate Farage and his right wing cronies, they disgust me.

I agree with all of this and the poster you responded to.

As someone who has never failed to vote, I now feel politically homeless.

Parmaviolet3456 · 15/10/2025 10:37

I love my close friend but she’s always going through rough periods / depression and 90% of the time it’s because of bad choices she’s made.

If you sleep with someone after 4 weeks of knowing them unprotected and get pregnant, you don’t really know them, it’s incredibly sad that they turned out to be an awful person and bad dad.
If you meet a married man and he ends up cheating on you, it’s not really a shock

Am I harsh? Maybe.

My mum left the price sticker on our wedding anniversary card (and got the number of years wrong - it's 41, not "thirty-something", FFS!) and I was so annoyed that I tore the card into four pieces and hid it at the bottom of the recycling bin.

I have to say, I can’t understand this one. Why did that upset you?

Why do you feel it is about applause? Anyone losing weight via whatever method is for their health, first and often appearance secondary. It isn’t for the applause or effort; it never has been,

hevs03 · 15/10/2025 10:41

A former colleague roped me into taking part in a Great British Bake Off type thing at work where we had to bake a cake, bring it in, it got judged in a fun way and then the cake(s) were cut into slices and sold with the money going to a local charity. I'm ok at cooking and baking but our oven at home is on it's last legs and I didn't want to let my colleague down so I brought a large plain sponge cake online, decorated it myself and got 2nd prize, even had a couple of other colleagues ask me for the recipe which I googled.
Only felt slightly guilty
