Had so much exposure on TV? He’s really really unfunny, he’s a crap stilted presenter and just makes everything awkward.

OP posts:
GrassNeedsaMow · 12/10/2025 07:41

Totally disagree OP, I find him really funny, also really enjoy his Hip Hop radio show , he clearly has a passion for the music and knows his stuff. I saw his stand up show earlier in the year and it was brilliant! He clearly adores his wife and kids, his humour is just dry.

Now his friend Rob Beckett on the other hand I find really annoying and totally unfunny yet he seems to be on everything, in my opinion on the coat tails of Romesh. But I just turn over when he comes on something. It’s as easy as that!

ruffler45 · 12/10/2025 07:50

ColourThief · 12/10/2025 07:37

In your opinion.

and to answer the OP, Romesh is hilarious.
If you don’t see it then shrug. Not all comedy is exclusively for you.

and to the other poster that seems to think they have the inside scoop on what Romesh is like in real life and how he treats his wife etc, no you don’t. Bore off.

And I am entitled to my opnion...as are you

Joe Lycett, Stewart Lee, Masie Adam’s, Joe Wilkinson, Lou Sanders, Roison Conarty, Richard Ayoade

Edited

But I am still interested to know WHY you like these comedians. You have asked people why they like Romesh Ranganathan and I believe that is difficult to quantify. So can you explain why you like these comedians? Or even just one of them?

landlordhell · 12/10/2025 07:55

I really like Romesh . He’s funny, clever and witty.

garlictwist · 12/10/2025 07:55

I love him. I think he’s really funny and will watch and listen to anything he’s on.

landlordhell · 12/10/2025 07:58

Rainymoondays · 11/10/2025 22:33

Didn’t suggest it was. I just wonder what I’m missing - and what people find funny about him

It’s personal choice isn’t it? Scott Mills has the most awful presenting style but people love him and he’s presenting the breakfast show on radio 2.
Romesh is dry and he’s also relatable and self depracacting. Hard to describe funny but he just is .

Rainymoondays · 11/10/2025 22:31

What do you like about him? Genuinely I don’t find him funny. I mean I don’t dislike him as a person, he seems fine. But just not funny and an awkward presenter

Awkward? He is great on The Weakest Link. I think the “awkwardness” is part of his comedy persona? I really like him. Particularly because he is from a different demographic and I find his point of view quite interesting because of that.

HawthornWand · 11/10/2025 22:39

I find him quirky and dry. His grumpy persona is similar to Jack Dee in some ways. I also like his self deprecation when telling anecdotes about how his wife, kids and mum treat him. I find him down to earth and amusing. Like a friend who's a bit of a curmudgeon but you are fond of them. I really enjoyed the Ranganation and fouhd it uplifting and very amusing.

I loved the Ranganation! DH and I were only talking about that last night. It was brilliant and really lighthearted humour and I loved seeing the Ranganation and what they had been up to in their week 😂

BeardofHagrid · 12/10/2025 08:05

He’s incredibly boring and unfunny.

ErlingHaalandsManBun · 12/10/2025 08:07

We like him in our house and we also enjoy his travel shows. 😁

OrchardDoor · 12/10/2025 08:15

I like him and think he's funny

MCF86 · 12/10/2025 08:22

The show with his mum doesn't appeal to me in the slightests and I've never watched it. I do like Rob and Romesh, appearances on podcasts I've listened to and his radio 2 show. I also saw his stand up a couple of years ago and really enjoyed that.

Who do you find a funny presenter?

sillyrubberduck · 12/10/2025 08:24

Well we love him. My whole family. We find him very funny.

Flomingho · 12/10/2025 08:36

I like him, I think he is funny and witty. He does seem to be a marmite character though. I know lots of people who aren't keen.

BCBird · 12/10/2025 08:39

Never seen him.on tele. Listen to him.on radio. I got a long journey today and deliberately saved his programme to listen to on the way.Find him very funny.

Rainymoondays · 11/10/2025 22:30

Millions? Where did you get that stat from?

Don’t be difficult OP.

rainbowsandraspberrygin · 12/10/2025 08:52

Comedy is very individual though. Some I love, some a little, some I just don’t get. Of everyone liked the same thing, life would be boring.

just turn over if you don’t like him?

BackOnceAgainForThe · 12/10/2025 08:55

Totally agree OP, he’s not horrible or anything, just find him boring to watch🤷🏻‍♀️

CosyDenimShark · 12/10/2025 08:56

As a previous poster has said, I really like him and find his cutting, grumpy, dry humour similar to Jack Dee, who I also like.

Simonjt · 12/10/2025 09:08

JMSA · 12/10/2025 07:28

Humour is massively subjective.

That said, Joe Wilkinson and Paul Smith are as funny as toothache.

I was once unlucky enough to spend time with Joe and his brother Rob, raging racists, sexists and homophobes. Rob had just come off a school trip and spent the entire time picking all of his mosquito bite scabs and flicking the scabs on the floor.

EdithBond · 12/10/2025 09:12

His own joke about why he gets so much exposure is that he ticks two diversity boxes.

He’s one of my favourite comics. He has a quality of the best comedians, where even a look from him can make me laugh. Really enjoy his stand up. I like his kind of sardonic, deadpan humour. I particularly enjoyed his ‘Misadventure’ travel show. His interactions with people he met.

But appreciate his humour isn’t for everyone.

StrongLikeMamma · 12/10/2025 09:36

Wednesdaysotherchild · 11/10/2025 22:31

I really like him, he’s funny and he’s vegan so great!

Is he a vegan? Really?

amusedbush · 12/10/2025 09:38

I really like his deadpan humour, it’s right up my street. I don’t often laugh out loud when watching TV by myself but Romesh’s most recent Netflix stand-up had me chuckling.

He joins Brooklyn 99 and Schitt’s Creek on my ‘proper lol’ list, which I’d say is pretty good company.

CloudSky · 12/10/2025 09:39

KimberleyClark · 11/10/2025 22:31

I think he’s great. Recently rewatched the first series of Taskmaster and he was fab.

He was alright in taskmaster, but I do find him a bit forced on anything else. Particularly as a presenter, it’s like he’s trying to be something he’s not.
