Men violently preventing women from congregating, communicating and networking, is what the Taliban do. Why is it happening in the UK?

The FiLiA Women's Liberation Conference was targeted overnight, the attackers even live tweeted the violence.

Local politicians are so far silent.

This is literally terrorism, using fear and violence to shut down legitimate peaceful discussions.

Live: Venue vandalised and protesters demonstrate at feminist conference

The Brighton Centre has been vandalised as a feminist conference begins there today.

Here is the HM Prison Service 2023 stats on rates of sexual offending.

As you can see trans identified men are up to 5 times more likely to be in prison for sexual offenses than other men.

Thank you so much. My lefty DH is still on the fence, was 100% twaw, we can't know their pain, etc., but he's now on the fence and when I raised the issue of the violence at the conference I inadvertently through this in and he needed a source.

More intimidation from the aggressive men. And the police are doing feck all again.

It's quite a sight to behold isn't it? It's to be expected that various randoms on the internet will minimise VAWG. But to see an elected MP stating that Brighton should be a no go area for women to meet is quite something.
As ever it shows how immensely powerful and influential these people are. They can get an MP to make such an anti democratic, anti woman statement without any self awareness of the implications

Another once respected public servant beclowned by their adherence to this ideology.

There was a judgement yesterday about the right to shock and offend. A man who burned a copy of the Q’ran (sp?) was cleared because the judge explicitly said that the right to freedom of speech includes the right to shock and to offend. I think people like Berry, and the “protesters”, should think about that.

If you can’t argue your case, and you have to resort to preventing the other side from making their arguments, perhaps you should consider whether your case is actually that logical/rational/reasonable after all.

I'd also like to reiterate that this is not a left wing thing - you cannot get further right wing than a group who want to take rights away from 51% of society.

We need to stop enabling their division of the left.

This is so silly.

Indeed. I didn’t get there till about 6pm last night (work had to be done yesterday!) but it was quiet. However, to get in to the building there was a wire fenced off walkway, a hand bag search, then a walk through electronic scanner gates. Just to join over 2,000 women, mostly organising around MVAWG, and women’s rights internationally. Then when I left the building, after the fab show Queenagers, there were 4 policemen just making sure women could leave unharassed.

The so called “social justice warriors” show themselves for who they are: violent women haters. They should go back to Afghanistan.

Nothing silly about wanting to vote for a party that represents 51% of the population properly.
I don't want to be forced to vote Right just because they know basic biology and don't pander to violence.

TheKeatingFive · 11/10/2025 08:52

These men do not respect women's legal rights, do not consider their consent to be important, do not want them to speak. They think they can intimate women into STFU with violent behaviour.

They're just incels of a slightly different flavour.

That sounds far too logical for a group of men who spent a whole day chanting "shame on you" in dresses https://x.com/cavakaggyreborn/status/1976725777053106577?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1976725777053106577%7Ctwgr%5E5c3ded15c35d883fb5e5d60cc731c9e8820c9688%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftimesofindia.indiatimes.com%2Fworld%2Fuk%2Fsmashed-windows-graffiti-and-intimidation-feminist-conference-venue-in-brighton-vandalised-by-trans-activists-watch%2Farticleshow%2F124470679.cms

Property is respected more than women, is how that looks.

Property is respected more than men even. Touch property at your peril.
Btw, I've never bought the old ' Greens are socialists ' line. They've been in power twice here in Ireland and were pretty good at enforcing austerity with the odd cycle lane.
Certainly Sian Berry seems little different to any other right wing authoritarian. Green feminism includes men. Adopt the new line , or else. They could lose in Brighton next time I reckon.

It is a left problem though, no point in denying that.

The communist party is extremely niche, though good for them for standing up for their principles.

Labour has been TWAW until very recently and are still dragging their heels. Only a handful of politicians are properly standing against it. They've had to respond to Cass/SC judgement, it hasn't been an organic change.

All the other left leaning parties are firmly on the side of gender woo and against women. As are the Dems in the US.

I can't get me head around what looks like this newish (to me) trans (incel ?) movement.

Looking at the men in a series of different demonstrations worldwide they are not 'even' really trying to look like modern girls or women. I'm not sure how this really fits in.

Finding it hard to explain. Especially when it touches on matters of stereotypical dress. It's very true that real women adopt a wide variety of dress.

The boys and men at these protests in different locations look like youths dressed in plain black or in grunge (but nothing like the girls i know who dress like thar look like).

It's like a weird parody of 'i want to be a woman but an incredibly 'ugly' or not feminine woman' and i don't care'.

The opposite to the earlier stereotypical ultra feminine drag type of trans identifying man.

It's a 'i want to be a woman but not look in the mirror' or care what i wear or look like.

They seem to say 'I don't even want to try and look beautiful'. I want to be a woman and reject being 'feminine' as that revolts me'. It's a type of feminine hatred.

There is something more misogynist going on with these particular trans identifying men. That is why I am thinking that if is a type of trans incel movement.

I probably didn't explain this very well.

The incel to trans pipeline is obvious to me. Nerds, neuro-divergent types with poor social skills and deep into their internet wormholes with porn addiction bringing up the rear. Many are gamer types. The internet also allows them to find their kind and affirm one another in their lunacy.

Petitchat · 11/10/2025 10:02

Kimura · 10/10/2025 21:58

A feminist conference is not trans women’s backyard.

Brighton, basically the UK's capital of inclusivity, is their 'backyard'. It's the equivalent of holding a Ranger's fan club meeting in the carpark of Celtic's ground.

It is about women and for women. Nothing to do with men identifying as women. If they want to be represented and to be heard, they have to organise their own conference.

I agree. But the way protesting works is that those who don't agree try to disrupt the thing they don't agree with.

So no, they have no reason to be angry.

Who are you (or any of us) to decide what people should or shouldn't get angry about? They quite obviously do have their reasons, you just don't agree with them.

Any idea what the reasons are then?

To be angry about a group of women talking to each other?

I don't think the men demonstrating want to 'be' women.

They've just spotted an outlet to unleash their aggression towards women that society is legitimising right now. It needs to stop.

It should be noted the Bash Back manifesto about FILLIA had a section about how annoyed they were to be told their violent misogynistic games sold on Steam were being examined...

I think Labour leadership are hoping this issue will go away quietly through the actions of others, like the SC and the NHS, because if it came to a vote it would tear their party apart. Plus they're aware from polling that the electorate mostly doesn't believe in "her penis" ideology.

So we agree, I didn't say that you - or anyone for that matter - were supposed to be listening to anything.

To be clear - Angry people break stuff when they're not being listened to. The people this particular bunch are angry about popped up in their back yard, so they went and broke their stuff. It's not that deep.

Everything else - that you are supposed to be listening to them, that they're 'justified' in their criminal damage - these are things you appear to have up. Nobody in this thread has suggested them, except you.

Men are not 'being listened to'. So they smash up windows.

Men are not 'being listened to'. So he throws a glass against the wall.

Men are not 'being listened to'. So he punches a hole in the wall next to her face.

But, it's ok! It's OK! He didn't actually hit any woman! Why you bitches be whining? A punch on the wall near the side of her head isn't that 'deep'. It just that the man 'isn't being listened to'!

FFS, the misogyny and minimising of make violence in your post, in 2025, is pitiful!

Btw, it is not their backyard! It does not belong to them any more than it belongs to the local women who live there too, and turned up to the sessions.

Agreed, but they need to do better.

Much stronger leadership is required to make it 100% clear everybody needs to obey the law, no excuses.

I agree, and wonder if the EHRC guidance with the inevitable backlash from transactivists will change anything.

Like if this Bashback gang bricked Keir Starmer's windows, would he say anything about it.

Are some people seriously making the argument that Brighton belongs to the TRAs and any women who dare to express reality in Brighton are fair game targets for window smashing bullies?

There's a phrase about leopards and faces that fits here.
