Mumsnet has been deleting any comment at all that criticises Charlie Kirk... just because he has died does not mean he is infallible. He is still an evil person who did and said evil things, contributed to so much suffering of families at the hands of ICE etc., mocked the Palestinians undergoing a genocide? Mumsnet, disturbing much? I had to get MN by email to delete a thread of mine as I was getting bullied and people were making personal attacks against me (the talk guidelines say personal attacks will be deleted, yet I had to BEG for this), but they are censoring anything anyone says about Charlie Kirk? Why are we not allowed to have freedom of speech and freedom to debate, especially when it is someone who did and said SO MUCH EVIL!

Oxford are quite well known for giving contextual offers based on extracurricular activities and performance at interview. Because they recognise that someone might not excel in the rigid structure of a-level exams but may well thrive in an environment like Oxford.

It does make me laugh that they say they’re being silenced when there’s literally a million of them marching today in London

Freedom of speech is only meant to be for a certain demographic, we are marching in London to protect that right. If it was for everyone, we'd have to listen to speeches by radical Muslims and that. Kirk was just trying to bring the world back into order and poor guy was killed for it

He named 4 highly intelligent, highly educated black women. Including Michelle Obama.

IIRC he named 4, then played a video clip of one of them saying she was helped into college by affirmative action, and then directed the jibe about lacking brain power at her.
I might agree this is obnoxious conduct, but I don't agree he was saying all black women lack brain power. So it should make you wonder, if he was that bad, why use fake quotes? (The stoning gays quote was false too.) It suggests that the people creating these little lists to share around on reddit or bluesky knew they were fake, and thought an accurate list of his statements wouldn't achieve the desired effect- and the desired effect was to justify his murder.

I suppose it could be worse. They could have been shot dead.

You remember wrong. That is not what happened. It's literally all in the first 35 seconds of this video which I have shared repeatedly on this thread. He names all four. Talks about them being where they are due to affirmative action. Then makes his comments about brain power. It is very clearly about all four of them. Women who demonstrably have plenty of brain power.

Listen to the disdain with which he says "black lesbian!" He clearly finds it impossible to believe a black lesbian could also be a capable, educated human being.

Not just exaggerated, completely twisted to make a homophobic point he wasn't making. And as above, whether he was insulting 4 specific women or 1 (i think 1 if you watch the whole clip but its not really relevant) he obviously wasn't making a point about all black women. So why are these threads, and the rest of social media awash with this stuff? Why not just cririticise him for the actual things he said and not the made up ones? Or even better, why not stay quiet for a couple of days without sticking the boot in?

I actually emailed mumsnet back when they removed a comment of mine defending trans people and they tried to defend their decision with utter rubbish.
They still do it, I’m constantly getting my comments reported and deleted (the fault also lies with the people reporting them, apparently they can say what they like but not me) but I’ve given up now for the most part.

Your clip is edited differently to the one I saw. It has the same elements but in a different order which changes the intention and emphasis. Regardless, He is attacking affirmative action, a common target in his videos.
What he isn't doing, is saying all black women lack brain power.

How is anyone saying he was a good person? The same people in this thread who slated me for comparing him to Hitler, yet he said that abortiom is WORSE than the holocaust (I didn’t even compare him to Hitler. I just said if Hitler was alive today and died, these people would also say “he’s a family man! No one should be killed for their political views”!)
