Mumsnet has been deleting any comment at all that criticises Charlie Kirk... just because he has died does not mean he is infallible. He is still an evil person who did and said evil things, contributed to so much suffering of families at the hands of ICE etc., mocked the Palestinians undergoing a genocide? Mumsnet, disturbing much? I had to get MN by email to delete a thread of mine as I was getting bullied and people were making personal attacks against me (the talk guidelines say personal attacks will be deleted, yet I had to BEG for this), but they are censoring anything anyone says about Charlie Kirk? Why are we not allowed to have freedom of speech and freedom to debate, especially when it is someone who did and said SO MUCH EVIL!

Except men like CK take their pregnant daughters to get abortions in secret ... I remember years ago reading anonymous surveys of church leaders that showed this was a common enough practice.

CK could say what he would do all he wants, I am 100% willing to bet he never seriously thought he would have to face that situation so never truly engaged with it. I've known men within this particular conservative religious culture most of my life. Speaking is easy, acting is harder, and so so many of them say they believe one thing and would die on that hill while doing the exact opposite. Just look at how many pastors preach sanctity of marriage and no sex outside of it, while shagging a congregation member on the side (or raping them in the worst cases). They also are quite happy to arm themselves to defend their families, but tell women in abusive and dangerous marriages to "submit, pray and trust God to change him", and actively prevent them from protecting themselves. This is the money behind people like CK. He spouts their talking points - I can say them in my sleep, know the arguments intimately, and know I wouldn't trust proponents of such anywhere near me and mine. Still wouldn't shoot them though.

Oh and before anyone jumps in, I know not all conservative religious men are hypocrites. But the loudest ones, the ones seeking to enforce their version of morality on everyone else? Those men generally are, in my experience.

I also can't speak for CK, obviously. But within the culture he was appealing to there is a decent section that would ask "what was she wearing?" when faced with a 10yr old rape victim, would scapegoat her body as a temptation to the rapist, and force her to have reconciliation meetings with said rapist as per the Bible's process for grievances. She may be forced to express forgiveness and possibly bear some responsibility for the rape, especially if he's a person of some political or religious importance, or donates lots of money. And yes, I do know people that's happened to, victims of child sexual abuse within the church. I also know how rape victims and women were talked about generally. This is a fairly educated guess from being in these circles a long, long time. Religious extremism is alive and well in the US, and it's not coming from the immigrants - it holds office.

Do they? Have you not seen the many videos of him interviewed? Look at the quotes below from his own show- that is racism pure and simple.

Lots of people have seen them, and found them persuasive. That's why someone wanted him silenced.
