Mumsnet censorship

anonymouselephantx · 11/09/2025 11:38

Mumsnet has been deleting any comment at all that criticises Charlie Kirk... just because he has died does not mean he is infallible. He is still an evil person who did and said evil things, contributed to so much suffering of families at the hands of ICE etc., mocked the Palestinians undergoing a genocide? Mumsnet, disturbing much? I had to get MN by email to delete a thread of mine as I was getting bullied and people were making personal attacks against me (the talk guidelines say personal attacks will be deleted, yet I had to BEG for this), but they are censoring anything anyone says about Charlie Kirk? Why are we not allowed to have freedom of speech and freedom to debate, especially when it is someone who did and said SO MUCH EVIL!

I did not say DEI hires are not qualified and Charlie Kirk never said non-white men and women are "inherently unqualified".

That you have to make up this shit demonstrates that you have lost the argument.

If the successful candidate is the objectively the best person for the job, nothing else should matter. If the best person for the job is overlooked in favour someone who ticks the right boxes, who is a weaker (albeit qualified) candidate, that - in many reasonable people's eyes - is ridiculous and for safety-critical posts, potentially dangerous.

That deluded lefties can't see sense in best person for the job is (almost) unbelievable.

I did not quote him as saying that. I said it is inherent in the things he does say.

It’s not made up. His words show that is what he believes (as is his claim that his West Point rejection was to give an unqualified woman the position he felt was owed to him.)

If he does not think non-white men and women are inherently unqualified why does he assert that when he sees a non-white pilot he thinks “I hope he’s qualified”. Why wouldn’t he be?

He references slavery but in referencing “before 1940” he is arguing life for black Americans was better under Jim Crow.
His statement also demonstrates his racist and misogynist world view: That systemic racism and institutional racism, racial violence and entrenched poverty are all better situations to be if your dad lives in your house.

He’s a moron and I cannot understand how people are lionising him.

Edited

He believes in the meme that strong fathers are why functional families are functional; but his logic was faulty here. Absent fathers are shit fathers and always have been, pressuring them to stay will not make that family function any better, probably will make things worse tbh

RIP Charie
A great man
A man who spoke truths
A great father
A loving husband
A loving & loved son.
May his voice continue to be heard

He married an American, loved life there, became a citizen, rose through the Hospital ranks and became a chief of surgery. His hospital decided that in the interests of DEI it would fire all senior people and open up the interview process, encouraging a diversity of candidates. Yep, lost his job to a black woman who was much less qualified, less experienced, less peer reviewed publications, but she ticked the diversity boxes. Now obviously that's his version of events, there might have been other factors that he is not revealing - but he and his wife were so pissed off with that - and with the whole "gender affirming care for children" issue, that they voted for Trump.

I am positive your friend made this up.

I'm positive he didn't.
We are now in our 70's, he was working well past the age he would have been working in the UK - but I understand that is more usual in the USA. As I say - there might have been performance issues he was not admitting.

BUT the issue is that he had to apply for his own job, which he had been doing well (he thought) the team had won awards under his leadership.

His PERCEPTION was that a less well qualified person was appointed because they ticked diversity boxes a white male did not. It is also the perception of his family and friends (based on the facebook posts at the time). All of those people now believe that less qualified people are being appointed on DEI grounds.

Whether this is factually true or not - it is a genuine belief of large numbers of Americans - the whole DEI initiative seems to have been very badly handled.

No, they don’t. Or they’d be in favour of a proper safety net, proper maternity leave, proper healthcare (including the right to an abortion for medical reasons), in favour of stricter gun control. They care about birth.

Feckless people are still feckless people. Giving them money isn’t going to fundamentally change them or make them decent parents.

We’ve run this experiment for many decades now. If welfare improved anything, we’d have seen it by now.

and my other points? What about the fact they’re deathly against free at the point of use healthcare?

You are missing the point about the horrors of Jim Crow.

A “strong family” under intense racist oppression is worth very little in that context.

And that he is so dismissive of that shows his racism.

(It’s the equivalent of arguing that women were better off pre women’s suffrage.)

There are plenty of families who welfare assisted.
I was certainly from one.

And this is the crux of the issue. To some people the mothers are “feckless” and thus should be punished, even when it also means punishing the children. It’s not about being pro-life, it’s pro-birth.

Medicaid is a thing, and that’s already too fucking generous.

Your doctors are paid shit wages, people die on gurneys, cannot access tests in a timely way (costs idk). But sure, keep promoting your amazing NHS. Just needs more funding, amirite???

Frankly I’d rather be in debt than dead

Yet the American healthcare system does leave people (and especially women!), dead or bankrupt.

I am not and have never been pro-life.

Kirk is a far nicer conservative than I am.

And you think you’d have failed if not provided with welfare?

It may or may not have worked for you, but clearly it does not work at scale, which is what I’m talking about

Fecking hell, the left really are showing their ugly faces. Thread reported.

Free speech, eh?

KhakiTiger · 11/09/2025 18:59

It’s a bit idiotic to complain about being censored but then advocating for the censoring someone because you did t like his opinions.

Typical left. Irony deficiency and lacking critical thinking.

The lemmings in this country don’t mind lying on stretchers and trolleys in A&E for hours screaming in pain and dying due to undiagnosed conditions because they can’t medical treatment. As long as this is ‘free’.

RingoJuice · 11/09/2025 19:05

Anyway, the overall point is that Kirk is actually a nice guy, wanted to sit down with college students and have a debate: both sides could understand where the other comes from and come away with a better understanding of the other side.

Rare, tbh.

And don't forget us breeders. We girls are here too, just queuing up to bear those many babies for those nice guys like kirk, proper, masculine, straight, white males. By the way anti-choice fans, what plans for those babies you've forced into life. Who's taking care of them? I suppose we'll return to the days of leaving unwanted babies on doorsteps? Great planning.

The last thing I’m gonna say-

Charlie Kirk deserves the same amount of compassion that he has for victims of school shootings and murdered Palestinians ♥️ take that as you wish.

He died doing what he loved and was killed by what he advocated for.

goodnight 🌙💕

💯

Also, remember what he said about empathy for other people (including children)

"I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that — it does a lot of damage."

He's the ultimate FAFO.

He also said that abortion is worse than the holocaust. But MN ate me alive for simply saying if hitler was alive today they’d also have “empathy” for him.

anyway, I’m done!
