Wow really? I wasn’t thinking that way…. I just wanted to be clear that I hadn’t causef the issue by doing anything silly.

Like someone said, this is a phone call ‘Hey Mike, just to let you the left Falange has broken again, not sure why, but just letting you know.’

I wouldn’t say ‘I didn’t cause it and not sure how it can be resolved’. That just sounds like ‘not my fault, not my problem.’

Fair enough, to be honest it isn’t strictly my remit, but we all work together on certain small things sometimes so I wanted to flag up this minor problem so the boss can sort it out (which he definitely can).

Why though? You’ve assumed his immediate thought would be that it was your fault. That’s quite an odd assumption.
