Nagging

Gowlett · 29/06/2025 21:52

Honestly, I’m just going to make a list of the top five.
Stick it on the fridge door, and never mention it again.

It’s been the same few things for absolute years…
Don’t want them done MY way, just THE way, please!

Changed bed sheets, DH was sleeping without a top.
Went in, there he is on the new sheets sweating away.

Just wear a fucking t-shirt! That’s all I’m asking for.
I don’t want to bring it up. Every. Bloody. Time. I don’t.

AIBU to be sick of “nagging”? I’m the problem, of course!
Say nothing, and I’ll be told the house is dirty etc…

Are separate beds an option? It sounds like you both have very strong, and equally valid sensory preferences.

Edenmum2 · 29/06/2025 22:31

I couldn’t imagine forcing another adult (someone I’m in love with?!) to wear a T-shirt in 30 degree heat. Besides which it’s totally nonsensical because he would sweat so much more in a t-shirt.

If he had a ‘reason’ for forcing you to be naked against your will, would you adhere?

usedtobeaylis · 29/06/2025 22:33

It's unreasonable if he's sweating all over fresh sheets and you're the one washing and changing them all the time. Make sure he's doing his share of the washing and that's fine.

Sophiehoney · 29/06/2025 22:37

You can't tell him what to wear in bed, ges a grown man.
You sounds very controlling and obviously everyone is telling you you are or you wouldn't need the "not my way, just the right way". Maybe you shpuld listen to them.

There's no "right" way to dress for bed FFS.

roseymoira · 29/06/2025 22:40

I haven’t surveyed them all of course but I imagine most men sleep naked or topless

FutureCatMum · 29/06/2025 22:42

I’m sleeping naked. No one is going to tell me not to in my own home.
Yes you’re nagging for no obvious purpose. You’ll both sweat more tonight. Let it go.

SpacedOutOut · 29/06/2025 22:44

pambeesleyhalpert · 29/06/2025 21:54

I mean I like sleeping naked and if someone was telling me I couldn’t do that in my own bed I’d be pissed off

Same! Way too hot for even the thinnest of pj’s!

HarkerandBarker · 29/06/2025 22:50

Gowlett · 29/06/2025 22:17

It’s more that he can’t be arsed just getting one.
Bed is fresh. T-shirts are fresh. Just put it on?

I don’t tell him what to wear. He’s a hairy & sweaty.
Does my comfort in bed not matter at all?

Could you put a towel for him to lie on? I do understand the sweat and body fats stains that get left behind. If it gets bad sheets don't come up like new. How about taking a shower before bed? Wouldn't he like that especially in this heat? Failing that you could get darker sheets? I just buy new sheets when they're not coming up like new when washed.which is frequently 😄

I don't mind sleeping naked but draw the line at no under pants. 😂

Only on special occasions huh? ;-)

Sylviasocks · 29/06/2025 23:01

I must be the only person wearing PJs in the UK at the moment, I run hot and find it more comfortable.

Yeah… it feels a bit naggy… at first I thought you were getting riled about your DH sleeping on a bare mattress, that I could get on board with!

HarkerandBarker · 29/06/2025 23:02

I'm want to say something that might be controversial....May I? Only if I don't get a ferocious backlash though?

Devilsmommy · 29/06/2025 23:07

Go on @HarkerandBarker

Wearing any type of clothes in bed apart from undies just makes me feel restricted. I also never use a quilt. I used to hate being tucked in when I was a child. As soon as my nan left the room I'd pull the bed covers out. That's just how I sleep best. I had a friend the complete opposite. The more blankets on her the better and she liked sleeping in bed wear.

Go on @HarkerandBarker

Men are sweatier and generally larger than women therefore there's more matter to deal with 😅

You're not wrong really, especially if said man is hairy but that being said, you can't expect a man who's already hot and sweating to put a t-shirt on FFS😂

True but they can take a shower before bed. I'm not objecting to a naked man in my bed. I can't sleep with anything on but my undies. These are the things we need to ask at the early dating stage 🤣🤣🤣

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 29/06/2025 23:16

I can't sleep with anything on, even in the dead of winter so I'm afraid my husband would be looking to make alt sleeping arrangements if he asked me to wear a t-shirt.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/06/2025 23:18

Does he ever change the bedsheets?

I second that...I sleep the same way all year round. However, I can't imagine any man complaining about a naked women in bed. We're wired completely differently in that department 🤣

howcanistayhinged · 29/06/2025 23:47

It would be a sad life for me if my husband and I couldn’t be skin to skin in bed with each other every night.

Regardless of your preferences for wearing pyjamas, you are a nag. Leave him alone. Buy a bigger bed if he grosses you out, or two singles. Then you can sleep far away from him.

Every night? Even now?
My DH is a cuddly guy and I love him to bits but his skin is only a few degrees cooler than the surface of the sun itself lately… 🥵
And yes he’s sweating all over my sheets but they are his sheets to and washing machines exist so 🤷‍♀️

Even now what?

Every night yes, not for the entire night- We’re not hamsters. But it’s nice to cuddle on and off through the night or even just feel that each other’s bare bodies are there. He’s usually in pants and nothing else , whereas I’d want to tear my skin off at even the feeling of a pair of pants. I can’t abide the feeling of clothes on in bed.
