Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

I agree. I did enjoy pulp though but only caught last couple songs.

So if I draped myself in a Swastika and a KKK mask then leapt onto the stage screaming "bring back death camps! kill all black people!" you'd just figure I was doing it by design, "trying to be 'scandalous' for attention". And you'd "take it all with a skip load of salt". Interesting.

I mean… Elon did it…

Crikeyalmighty · 28/06/2025 22:12

@Profpudding they are managing particularly poor sound mix on him - BBC really struggle in my opinion on guitar bands sound

TheHateIsNotGood · 28/06/2025 22:12

@JustSawJohnny I lived a blessed life I did - saw the Pistols in Penzance when I was 15 - during their SPOTS tour when they was banned every where.

No wonder my life seems so fucking boring now,

Pedallleur · 28/06/2025 22:12

Raye was joyful to watch. She performed and looked like a star. Killer band.

WobblyLondoner · 28/06/2025 22:14

I’ve seen some great female bands/acts which has been great and feels an improvement on past years’ live ups. Raye as today’s example.

Wish I’d seen Pulp though!

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 28/06/2025 15:17

My son was on earlier on one of the Main Stages that are being shown on the iPlayer, but they didn’t start broadcasting until after their band 😠

You must have been so proud and so disappointed all at once

WobblyLondoner · 28/06/2025 22:16

Neil Young though - just don’t get it at all.

Off to find Pulp on iPlayer ;)

Blodtheplod · 28/06/2025 22:16

What on earth is going on with the sound?

keeperofdarktails · 28/06/2025 22:17

NeartoNewquay · 28/06/2025 14:04

Yes I agree. Enjoyed En Vogue and was looking forward to Neil Young but his set isn't going to be televised apparently.

His set is on right now on bb2, just started 5 mins ago

You lucky, LUCKY sod! ❤

Do you see my point re the hysteria, tho?

The press convinced half the country that there actually was going to be anarchy in the UK 😂

Kneecap are an absolute gift for the shit rags.

I hope they do a cover of God Save the Queen King next!

Notouchingmybhuna · 28/06/2025 22:17

Is it my old TV or does Neil Young sound absolutely dire?

ZiggyZowie · 28/06/2025 22:18

It's crap

Notouchingmybhuna · 28/06/2025 22:18

Time he retired….

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 28/06/2025 22:19

There just don't seem to be many good headliners any more.

Just wait until Rod croaks his way through Maggie May tomorrow 😬.

Alleycat321 · 28/06/2025 22:19

Absolute rubbish tonight.

I saw him playing in Australia 15 years ago and thought he should retire there. He could hardly bloody walk up and down the stage. He could never sing

It has always been highly political. Don’t people feel embarrassed using the term woke as an insult?

The crowd is too big for me nowadays and it’s a bit TikToker friendly now but I have a tiny bit of FOMO. I am watching Brian Wilson from 2005 though as haven’t found anything else I like (watched a bit of Alanis and En Vogue last night).

"Don’t people feel embarrassed using the term woke as an insult?"

They don't know what they don't know, so they probably don't know they should be embarrassed, imo.

Notouchingmybhuna · 28/06/2025 22:22

The crowd ain’t exactly going wild 😆

Pedallleur · 28/06/2025 22:23

Notouchingmybhuna · 28/06/2025 22:18

But he is a legend (apparently). Not a Glastonbury headliner imo. Put him on his own terms in a theatre or arena and he is excellent. His recent tour with Crazy Horse was superb but if you don't like him then you won't like this set.

Maybe not for the headliners but there were circle pits during Denzel Curry earlier.

For RAP!

I love him. Have done for years. Really disappointed with this 😐

I'll watch Nile Rodgers but then Rod goes off. No doubt some young women in short skirts will be involved. He played there in 2009(?) and his string section were all women and dressed as schoolgirls. It wasn't a good look.

PandoraSocks · 28/06/2025 22:27

TheHateIsNotGood · 28/06/2025 21:43

I gave up on Glastonbury once CND took it over, although my sentiments ally with them - it wasn't supposed to be about political causes and headlining Judy effing Tzuke was the turning point for me.

That's when I started describing Glastonbury as a "Worthy Cause" and left it to the day's 'movers and groovers'.

The odd occasion when I watch a bit - Christine and the Queens are the only stand out. Alanna will always be great with or without Glastonbury.

Christina and the Queens was stunning. That was a couple of years back I think? Or three? 😬

OonaStubbs · 28/06/2025 22:27

People who talk about Glastonbury as a music festival are missing the point. It is so much more than that. Glastonbury is a revolutionary space outside of the capitalist system. It is what every day life would be like if it wasn't for the bastard Tories.
