Dogs everywhere!

In shops and cafes, barking and making people jump, tripping over them in the street... Seems everyone and their Auntie Flo has a dog nowadays.

Shout out to all the rational people who:

Think dogs are all right.

Don't think dogs are more important than people.

Think having dogs out and about is fine, in the park, on the streets, in cafe's etc. But there are limits and having them in every shop is ridiculous as most of them seem quite stressed by it all anyway.

Don't think dogs owners should ignore "no dogs" signs just because their little fido has separation anxiety or whatever.

Don't think dogs are horrible, but equally don't want them running up and jumping all over you, especially when you're wearing something nice.

Have no objection to dogs being off lead, but equally think that owners should have them under control at all times because that's the law.

Think that there are a lot of good dog owners, but equally, there's a significant contingent, especially post Covid, of irresponsible fuckers who are probably responsible for the influx of threads on Mumsnet.

Think that nuance is sadly lacking in the modern social media driven era.

I’m 58 and had a Rottweiler jump on me and clamped his jaws around my arm. Luckily had a padded coat on and the owner pulled it off me but it did leave me scared enough of dogs to not want to see them everywhere I go. I live near seaside towns so it’s very unlikely that I won’t see them absolutely everywhere streets, cafes, pubs and I even saw a huge one today in a charity shop. I cope with it because I have to but I can’t help but feel sorry for the dogs who are getting trailed through town centres.

So many gorgeous dogs around, unfortunately some of their owners leave a lot to be desired!

Dog owner here. Had to leave a cafe because THREE large Labradors came in with their owner who sat at the table next to me (plenty of others available), the dogs lolled on the floor by my feet. I came in for a lovely cool smoothie. I left (after moving the table over to get out) feeling overheated and breathed upon. Why walk three big dogs in the middle of the day heat?

all those who say that they like dogs more than humans it’s only cos dogs can’t talk back and challenge you. Which is pretty sad when you think about it.

I live in a lovely area, bar the amount of dog crap absolutely everywhere. I love dogs, but don't like them jumping all over me or my daughter, even if their owner does say that they are friendly. Just like people, some dogs are just dickheads.

These two are a bit hot in the heat so not out annoying anyone!

No dogs are not 'everywhere'. And dont have a devastating effect on the environment. Do you know who does? People. People are everywhere. Litter is everywhere. Cars are everywhere. Food waste is everywhere. Polution in rivers by humans is everywhere. Mass production of clothes and exploiting poorer countries is everywhere. The only place dogs are everywhere is on Mumsnet, and that's because of the relentless posts.

I actually like dogs but I’m sick of dog shit everywhere - on pavements, fields, beaches etc. it’s terrible in UK, in other parts of world it’s not such a problem. So for that reason I think dogs should be banned.
