@AnnaQuayInTheUk

I didnt say they cant comment

I said i ‘personally’ refuse to talk to someone who is saying ‘that wont happen because i think blah blah’
When it has already been said by these countries

We were talking about FACTS and TRUTH
Things that has been STATED by these countries already

And i have a right to refuse to engage with a particular poster if i so wish

Im not really sure why everyone is sticking up for Isreal, Just because what happened to them in the past
Benjamin Netanyahu and Isreal’s former defence minister were issued with warrants for war crimes in 2024

I think everyone seems to forget this
He is no better than Putin

Everyone is not sticking up for Israel.

If it looks like a dog, acts like a dog and wags its tail like a dog, it is a dog.

Therefore, many, many people can see that the Israeli government led by Nethanyahu, is a rogue, warmongering government with no morals or humanity left, who started an illegal war. It has been itching to launch a direct full scale attack on Iran for many many years and when the prize idiot Trump got into power with his MAGA and Christian fundamentalist base, believed it had a green light to do so. And sure enough Trump, with his obsequious, self serving supplicants he has surrounded himself with, has backed Israel despite their war crimes that the world's populations clearly see.

And hey ho, again Netanyahu avails himself of another opportunity to delay his day of reckoning in court to face corruption charges, even if it means his country's reputation is in tatters, there is conflagration in the Middle East and the world is a left safe place, not more safe because of his actions. But in his mind that's alright so long as he calculates that for one Israeli life, tens of thousands of another countries lives will be lost so that's okay.

It's not. I shouldn't have to say that, but unfortunately, Israel's and Trump's hardened supporters will try and justify the unjustifiable.

It's WMD all over again.

Let's hope PM Starmer keeps us the fuck out of it. Not our circus, not our monkeys.

You remember the way Starmer scrambled to pick up Trump’s dropped papers the other day?

Reminds me of the time Bush summoned Tony Blair with a “Yo Blair”

We’re their lackeys. We’re in.

Iran developing nuclear weapons is a bad thing. How can anybody think it's a good thing. Whether this is the best way of dealing with it is another question. Still better than hand wringing once the weapon exists or worst still used.

GentleSheep · 22/06/2025 02:11

It's at 3:00 a.m. our time. I expect he'll be boasting as usual about the biggest bombs and so on!

He boasted about his 'big, beautiful planes"!

PoopingAllTheWay · 22/06/2025 01:55

Iran will come back with something because they have to, they will not be shown to be weak.
Otherwise they are left open for anyone to just bomb them.

For those saying Good etc…
Im sorry but you arent glued up about what this can be the start of

You cant just go into a country because they have nuclear weapons. We have them, would it be ok for another country to do that to us, or the USA, or France, Pakistan, India, North Korea etc? No, and it would not be tolerated either

China & North Korea on the side of Iran.
As well as Pakistan so they can easily get ships, planes and air defences from those countries

This could be the start of something HUGE

TRUMP saying - Now time for PEACE
is rubbish - He wants to be a wartime president and go down in History and he knows what this is going to cause

USA targets will be hit in relation either a warship or a US airbase (in the middle east)

This isnt peace - This is just the start

Edited

Trump wants war because once the US is at war, there cannot be an election! Time and time again he has said he won’t leave the White House and this is the only way he can legitimately stay!

Noonk · 22/06/2025 05:43

Israel actually has nuclear weapons but no one talks about that. They have also not signed up to the non proliferation treaty which means those weapons aren't subject to external inspection.

Clearly you don’t remember when the US invaded Iraq claiming there were weapons of mass destruction! Guess what there weren’t any! The biggest nuclear threat is not from Iran but countries like Pakistan, so what next? Bomb them, Russia has a huge nuclear arsenal, and will likely side with Iran! Do you know which country Russia is likely to bomb? The UK! So perhaps don’t comment on things you clearly don’t understand!

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 22/06/2025 06:06

As an American [who did not vote for him] am horrified.

While I despise the man and his so called, 'policies,' at least in his first term, he didn't start any wars which was at least a positive, under the umbrella of, 'America First.' I don't particularly care how he justifies peace whether it's ideological or appeasing a MAGA base but was his only real attribute.

Iran was engaging in peace talks so this move was not justified.

TranceNation · 22/06/2025 06:14

Oh for Pete's sake. Just what the world didn't need.

Will be interesting to see what Russia and China say about this. They've both been ominously quiet about this whole Israel/Iran situation up to now.

savory · 22/06/2025 06:16

War war war - meanwhile they bomb starving Gazan who are desperately queing for food - these are our 'allies' ?

savory · 22/06/2025 06:32

Those Epstein files must have been a bombshell !

The US has bombed Fordow and other sites.
Birdsinginginthetrees · 22/06/2025 06:38

The Democrats should have had the strength to do this years ago, instead of giving Iran $billions that only helped them expand their nuclear weapons programme. Trump's actions have corrected this weakness and error, and made Israel, the Middle East and the rest of the world a much safer place as a result.

Poynsettia · 22/06/2025 06:39

I don’t know why no one puts into words that Israel -pop 9 million - is supported entirely by the US. Somehow the US is pretended to be this peacemaker country that helps poor little Israel in its problems. When in fact anyone criticising Israel is really against the US so doesn’t stand a chance but no journalists say this!

Birdsinginginthetrees · 22/06/2025 06:47

The difference between Israel and Iran couldn’t be more stark. Israel is a democratic ally to the West that doesn’t threaten to wipe countries off the map, doesn’t fund terrorist groups to destabilise the region, and doesn’t chant “Death to America” in its parliament. Iran does all of that—and more. Israel hasn’t signed the NPT, but it also hasn’t violated international agreements, lied to inspectors, or used its nuclear capabilities as a bargaining chip to spread chaos. The reason the world was so focused on Iran’s nuclear program is because Iran is a hostile regime with a proven record of violence, not because of some double standard—it’s because the threat was real, and dangerous.

War war war - meanwhile they bomb starving Gazan who are desperately queing for food - these are our 'allies' ?

And like our servile PM, Starmer, they mealy mouthed state "Israel has a right to defend itself', whilst seeing that Israel is the first one to attack Iran then spew the same rubbish when the attacked country retaliates. No mention of Iran having a right to defend itself from it's attackers.

More galling when Starmer, a former human rights lawyer and head of the Crown Prosecution Service, repeatedly fails to acknowledge the clear evidence of war crimes conducted by the Israeli government including collective punishment, bombing of hospitals, schools, and the killing and starvation of a population.

Those claiming to be "stauch supporters of Israel" should be asking themselves, "why". Shouldn't a true friend be able to step in and tell someone that enough is enough, you have gone too far, as is the case with Gaza and bombing territories/countries left, right and centre"? When a friend/ally can"t be reasoned with we should walk away.

When will Starmer and other world leaders start listening to their populations that are horrified at the slaughter and carnage that Israel has inflicted on Gaza? When will they see that the Israeli government now has a bloodlust and territorial ambitions and nothing will stop them escalating further in the region until massive pressure is put on them in the form of sanctions, arms embargoes, etc?

If the planes used Diego Garcia we’re already involved as we’ll have had to agree to it.

I saw a video of a b2 bomber landing at raf Fairford yesterday for refuelling. Now admittedly the video was on TikTok, taken by a plane spotter and could have been AI or taken on a previous date but it’s also possible they landed here on their way to Iran??? US reports said they flew 37 non stop after taking off from the USA and were refuelled several times en route. Fairford I believe has the capability of doing a hot refuel which would count as not stopping the journey.

The question ‘is Israel the 51st state of the US?’ is discussed in Israel and the Occupied Territories by journalists, in universities and in the population generally. Some regard it as an existential question.

This is a typical example from Haaretz, 2018, that stuck in my mind.

Good I hope the operation has been successful and irans nuclear capability has been destroyed. Iran is a threat to the west - I don’t think we should be involved in regime change (particularly after disastrous interventions in Lebanon and Syria but I support this action.

Yet Israel is allowed them? Not sure I would want them to have them either.

For Israel - maybe, for the rest of the world I don't think so.

I mentioned this in an earlier post onmthis thread. How does Israel with a population around 10 million have such a disproprtianate military capability in the region.

The US, Israel and other governments accuse Iran of using proxies to wage terrorism. It now seems that the US 's proxy is Israel, who wages war around the region. Or judging by the last few hours, maybe the US is Israel's proxy, ready and eager to do Israel's bidding. Who knew!

Usually when they want to bury bad news, this is the time to do it.

Right, so this is all just a distraction for benefit reforms? Now I understand.
