I was wondering whether we are even allowed to, given the lack of threads about him here.

Anyway, watching the video footage of him beating and kicking his girlfriend it occurred to me - all that money he's got he can probably make most people do whatever he wants - but Diddy had to beat his girlfriend. Not beating her wasn't an option.

I wonder what sort of family he grew up in. Behavour like that is just passed on from generation to generation I guess.

There’s an interesting 2 part podcast about Sean Combes from Red Handed with a good background of him and the culture of the music industry.

Jackrussellsaremad · 15/05/2025 07:46

One thing I don't understand is why his children are in court listening to what their Dad got up to and seeing pictures of the freak-offs.

Probably in denial I would imagine

I think his daughters walked out of court on Monday or Tuesday didn't they? His lawyers will have put pressure on his children to be there for appearances sake to the jury.

I read somewhere that some of them have stopped attending

I think one of them walked out. Not much to deny when you've seen the photos and films of your dad beating his girlfriend up. But PD knew this would be coming out so I'm amazed he didn't try and stop them coming. I bet his lawyers thought it would be good for.the jury to see him as a family man.

I listened too, very interesting run down. He is a nasty nasty man. He was nasty before he had money and is an excellent manipulator. He also has zero talent.

Picklepower · 15/05/2025 08:08

From what I remember he has a very loving overbearing mother (i.e. Enabling) and dad died if I remember correctly

I listened to this and agree- they always research their topics deeply and revisit with updates too.

It's a really sickening case- he appears to be a very unpleasant person.

Renabrook · 15/05/2025 08:20

What is it about the millionaire that women fall over themselves about him and why would anyone want to go to his parties?

Parsley1234 · 15/05/2025 08:40

What a bloody car crash looking at the mess that went on. Him beating Cassie the freak offs for days the death of Kim what a bloody mess the enabling of his mother he’s not going anywhere for a long time

caramac04 · 15/05/2025 08:44

Let’s hope justice is served

Parsley1234 · 15/05/2025 09:56

@caramac04 lets hope I was surprised there was nothing n here before unless I missed it. However I only noticed the headlines yesterday I think the trial started May 5th all of those rappers are bad news just waiting for Jay Zee to be named there was a reason why Solange hit him
in that elevator

Poopeepoopee · 15/05/2025 12:48

I didn't realise he asked his kids to attend court. Imagine having to listen to that. Think posters are right though, he's going to prison for a long time.

It's so so odd. They know they will end up in prison but they do it anyway. It's like the urge to do it is worth going to prison for. Thats what I mean by generational and I appreciate most people break that chain.

Why was JLo with him? And re the Freak off I think those photos were only for the lawyers and jurors?

GetMeOutOfHere20 · 15/05/2025 12:51

Don’t blame generations that’s excusing his behaviour - he’s a deviant evil man.

Clownsy · 15/05/2025 13:07

The case is interesting.
Apparently it was very well known for a long time what he was up to.
However, it took him trying to screw over a mega big international company for his activities to actually somehow grab the attention of the police.
A strange one.

She was pretty unknown when she got with him, she was lucky to get out of that relationship with her career and her dignity, and her life I imagine.
She kept her mouth shut about what happened in that nightclub, and he let her walk away from the relationship. Cassie was not so lucky.

HiddenInCubeOfCheese · 15/05/2025 14:07

The JLo thing really pisses me off…it’s not exclusive to her but I lot of Hollywood and that scene: the shit they all know/have on each other/lack of moral compass to save their own skin.

She SAW stuff, for sure. And she’s done nothing.

Parsley1234 · 15/05/2025 14:29

@NeelyOHara what happened in that nightclub please ?

Gardenbumblebee · 15/05/2025 14:39

I've been following this case and one of the worst parts is how people are judging Cassie. I've seen so many comments along the lines of "she knew what she signed up for" "bet she wasn't complaining about all the money and gifts" and "why didn't she just leave, JLo did?". Just when you think the tide is turning on misogyny and abusive men, along comes a case like this that shows how many people still believe rich and powerful men should be able to get away with anything.

Cassie has been so incredibly brave throughout this. Imagine having intimate photos shown of you being coerced into sex with strangers, and having to talk in detail about them in front of a court. Also knowing that the press will publish all the most shocking details. And all this while 8 months pregnant.

ButteredRadish · 15/05/2025 14:39

I don’t understand why anyone over here is even interested in it all? He’s a rich American with such a level of power & wealth so eye watering that 99.9% of us will never see a tenth of in our lifetimes. The way people like him live their life is so vastly different to almost anyone else on earth that it’s just bizarre.
What he’s done is horrible & sickening of course but actually following the trial? Nah. But then I’ve never found it entertaining to hear all about the sick & twisted actions of deeply unwell criminals.

Sometimes it's good for the rest of us oiks to know that even the very rich and famous can be held to account eventually.

Parsley1234 · 15/05/2025 14:44

@ButteredRadish people are interested in different things who knew
I think this is going to blow up a lot of peoples lives Jay Zee Beyoncé Rhianna the murkiness of his first wife dying there’s a lot to come out it’s a total ness

Because his music was a massive part of my childhood. I grew up listening to him, Biggie, Jay Z, Missy Elliot, etc. Listening to his songs bring back a flood of memories and I can remember what I was doing in my life when each song came out.
