It’s a chafer beetle. No of course they aren’t dangerous.

Cockroaches have spiny legs. That doesn’t appear to.

Yeah definitely a cockchafer / May bug. Very clumsy bugs but harmless.

It's a may bug. Noisy fliers and they die in about 24 hours.

I love maybugs! Absolutely harmless and actually have beautiful "eyelashes" (as DD used to say when she was little).

I did a Google image search and it is apparently a cockchafer beetle.
Who came up with the name cockchafer for a mug deserves an award in being hysterically funny!

As pp said maybug or cockchafer - lovely beetles for your garden - they are a type of scarab and you're lucky to have them. Stop panicking.
