Pricelessadvice · 29/04/2025 20:56

Erm, it’s just a bug of some sort. Beetle type thing?

Namechangetheyarewatching · 29/04/2025 20:56

Omg it's a beatle! Stand down, we don't have dangerous things really

doodleschnoodle · 29/04/2025 20:56

Ooh what a handsome chap. Is it a shield bug of some sort?

YorkiePud25 · 29/04/2025 20:56

Google says may bug, absolutely harmless

getahhtmapub · 29/04/2025 20:57

It’s a chafer beetle. No of course they aren’t dangerous.

Pricelessadvice · 29/04/2025 20:57

Cockroaches have spiny legs. That doesn’t appear to.

doodleschnoodle · 29/04/2025 20:57

Aww they are apparently known as doodlebugs! Which I appreciate for obvious reasons Grin

Whyyes · 29/04/2025 20:59

Don't know what you're worried about. Looks like a sweetheart

Anonym00se · 29/04/2025 20:59

The common cockchafer. Sounds like a misogynist slur!

gamerchick · 29/04/2025 20:59

Chafer. I've seen a few of those posts lately. Just leave it alone, it's just a unit of a beetle.

getahhtmapub · 29/04/2025 20:59

It’s definitely not a cockroach. Calm down. We have no killer beetles in the UK. Just let it get on with whatever it’s doing.

WeLiveInTroubledTimes · 29/04/2025 20:59

Yeah definitely a cockchafer / May bug. Very clumsy bugs but harmless.

ScrewedByFunding · 29/04/2025 21:00

It's a may bug. Noisy fliers and they die in about 24 hours.

OrangeBlossomsinthesun · 29/04/2025 21:00

It's nothing like a cockroach

Kittyfur · 29/04/2025 21:00

It looks quite cute
just doing its own thing

JackieDaytonaLuckyBrews · 29/04/2025 21:00

I love maybugs! Absolutely harmless and actually have beautiful "eyelashes" (as DD used to say when she was little).

OoLaOoLa · 29/04/2025 21:00

I did a Google image search and it is apparently a cockchafer beetle.
Who came up with the name cockchafer for a mug deserves an award in being hysterically funny!

Pricelessadvice · 29/04/2025 21:01

He’s a beauty! I love bugs.

ShowOfHands · 29/04/2025 21:01

It's just bumbling along enjoying the clement weather. Salute it and go about your business.

BinaryDot · 29/04/2025 21:01

As pp said maybug or cockchafer - lovely beetles for your garden - they are a type of scarab and you're lucky to have them. Stop panicking.

That's a Deadly Sting Bastard. Get out of there and don't look back. It's probably already too late.

KhakiRobin · 29/04/2025 21:02

We need a banana for scale.
