To think I've been ripped off / scammed? Vinted

I was browsing vinted for a (BNWT) handbag to treat myself to for my upcoming birthday.

I came across this one (advertised with these pictures) for £35 and thought it looked lovely. The seller has dozens of positive reviews.

Well, the seller posted it out to me today and after she did she promptly sent me a message afterwards with a bunch of additional photos that weren't visible on the original advert.

It's absolutely shit quality and so flimsy. I would not have bought it with those images on there. The advertised pictures are misleading. She also told me she has sprayed it with antibacterial spray.

I asked why that was necessary and she assured me it doesn't damage the bag as she has sold this same bag 7 times and done the same with all. Apparently it's a spray for bags (?)

Long story short, I've discovered that she's buying them in bulk on Temu for under a tenner and upselling them for over three times the price.

Bags from Temu/Shein arrive smelling of strong chemicals (or fish!) so that's why she's claiming the BS about antibacterial spray.

I don't want a smelly temu bag.

Her profile states no refunds or returns.

Do I have a leg to stand on here and am I being unreasonable to raise a grievance with vinted?

WWYD?

I don’t know why she is so indignant, if she wanted to be transparent she’d say ‘my friend sources these bags from X supplier’ - but of course she can’t as it’s just a cheap shoddy bag, made in a sweatshop in China and being sold on the cheapest, shoddiest sites. Hey hun, if you are reading - THE BAG IS FOR SALE ON ALI EXPRESS!!!!

Are you paying for the return postage?

@AngelicKaty @TemuMuggedOff but surely as using a picture - of an actual designer bag - then it’s misleading as it isn’t the actual bag they’re selling??

Not really, no, you can post the original photo to show that is a designer copy, there is no pretence the item is the original designer. I am really surprised people think £35 is a lot for a bag. Is really not, for £35 you will not get leather or quality unless used, let's be serious! Even the plastic ones from River Island go from £50 plus, I am talking about tote like ones not small purses. I brought my leather bag from Joules 2 years ago for £180 after I waited ages (about 6 months)to go down from £230! Yes is not cheap but I will have it for years! Previous bag was a beautiful leather copy of Hermes, paid about £120 about 10 years ago still have it and I used it for years, just the handles became a bit scruffy. Designer copy but excellent quality. What you pay is what you get. I do agree though is too much for a Temu bag.
