Mummy Makeover questions

If you have had one - (im considering, and trying to decide if IABU or not! it would consist of breast reduction, tummy tuck and lipo)

How was the recovery, really?

Do you regret it at all?

What things did you have that helped you with recovery?

TIA!

Reduction and TT with muscle repair. No lipo.

it hurt. I woke up in recovery in pain. That was the muscle repair though, couldn’t feel anything else.

however was only on paracetamol and ibuprofen at home. Came off ibuprofen after about 5 days I think it was (a long time ago now!). I recovered a lot quicker than I expected. However I wasn’t ‘normal’ until about 5 weeks post op and had 6 weeks off of work as signed off by my surgeon.

I'm sure you're beautiful and loved just as you are. Spend the 20k on a lovely family holiday instead.

HolySchmokes · 27/02/2025 20:40

pM me OP and I’ll share my IG with you to look at my recovery.

What amazing advice. 🙄

I had a tummy tuck with liposuction and a breast lift with implants a few years ago, and I’m so glad I did. The pain was far less than I expected, and I was up and moving again surprisingly quickly. Since then, I’ve had my son, and my stomach has stayed flat—it’s amazing! I feel a million times better about myself, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

LoveMeBack · 27/02/2025 21:34

Manual lymphatic drainage with someone who is trained in post op recovery. Start them ASAP post surgery.
Wear your faja.
Use of tape and silicone tape to prevent widespreading of scars and keep them hydrated.
Don't smoke, or give up as this is so bad for recovery.
Good hydration, cut out inflammatory foods.
You won't want to, but you will need to move. Don't stay in bed resting all the time.
If you have breast and abdomen done, avoid arm lipo or lift at the same time (if this was a consideration), and do that at a separate time

Mummywantstobemadeover · 27/02/2025 21:46

@LoveMeBack great advice thank you
If i went with the surgeon I am leaning towards I get the MLD included and the faja, and the tape! They seem to take care of everything (you would think so with the price!)

@HolySchmokes thanks i tried to message you but it says it is currently disabled (don't know what that's about!)

Dan Marsh?

Mummywantstobemadeover · 27/02/2025 21:53

@LoveMeBack no but i do follow him! He's amazing! I think he probably has a long wait list though and I didn't even approach him as I suspected he would be out of my price range

It's horrible! Never come across it before this thread.

Me neither. I'm glad you're getting good advice OP and wish you luck.

But I think rebranding major surgery as a 'makeover' (not by you) is bloody sinister.

Thank you. I'm not going into it lightly believe me. (if i DO go into it)

The 360 FDL, and breast implants, I was in surgery for 8 hours. The arms and legs 5 hours.

I hate when people say, spend the money on a holiday instead, its such crap words.

I have never felt happier, looked better and my confidence is through the roof.

Namechangetheyarewatching · 27/02/2025 22:50

This was me before

Namechangetheyarewatching · 27/02/2025 22:52

Straight after

Mummywantstobemadeover · 27/02/2025 22:53

@Namechangetheyarewatching are you posting pics? I can't see any

Don't worry I am not listening to that. I can't live with my boobs the way they are. They are causing me physcial pain for a start!

HolySchmokes · 28/02/2025 05:07

Oh that’s annoying! Hopefully private messaging will be back soon. I don’t feel comfortable sharing pictures on a public forum, anonymous or not.

Namechangetheyarewatching · 28/02/2025 08:52

Pictures won't show 😕

Mummywantstobemadeover · 29/04/2025 10:04

Well - for anyone who is interested - I've done it! 2 weeks post op now.

wowwhataday · 29/04/2025 10:29

Oooh well done you. Initial thoughts on the whole process?

NigellaAwesome · 29/04/2025 10:29

How was it? Did you do it in the UK or abroad? I’ve lost some weight but I have a big slab of fat & hanging skin on my stomach and inner thighs. I would love to get lipo and skin removal but haven’t really looked into it yet.

Good for you OP

i hope it all went well, you’re happy and you’re healing well

I had a breast reduction and lipo, I don’t regret it but my scars really did affect me for a long time, I did co2 laser and they are great now!
I went to an amazing clinic in Lithuania, I did some consultations in London but a few places do the procedure as a day case and I wanted a hospital stay. I went from an empty GG to a nice D

Mummywantstobemadeover · 29/04/2025 10:47

Thank you :)

Ok so iv gone from a 36H to a (still swollen obviously!) atm 34D. They look SO GOOD. My nipples were down to my belly button and they were so heavy, now they are round, pert and my back just instantly felt relief. I have quite bad posture issues from my previous boobs so hoping this will help that too.

I had full muscle repair along with hernia repair (didn't know I had it but was fixed while he was there), loose skin removed and four sites of lipo, not much but i can see the difference it's made. it was recommended along with what I was having done.

I haven't had much pain, was off pain meds including paracetamol after 5 days. The worst pain is from the MR, my first coughing fit i actually cried! The tummy incisions are a little sore, the boobs are a breeze.

I am so much smaller. Still v swollen, early days yet, but I look so different, in the best way. I feel like my old self.

Hardest parts of recovery so far have been the toilet issues (constipation, they to the other way when I took too much lactulose, then back again when I eased off), the boredom and not being able to do anything, the tiredness (still having daily naps) and the swelling which just flares up whenever it feels like it!)

I had it done in the UK, in the south east. I was following the surgeon for two years on instagram until i plucked up the courage for a consultation.

I got very lucky with my date because after my consultation where I just knew I wanted it done after meeting him, we booked in but then he had another date open up and so I was in much quicker (i didn't' have to accept the earlier date but glad i did!) so it all worked out well.

@NigellaAwesome i have loose skin on my upper inner thighs. I had nothing done to them but somehow with the abdominal tuck the skin is tighter there!

the phrase "mummy makeover" is ghastly - sounds very stepford wives

why you are equating “mummy” and “wives” ?
I’m not a wife but I’ll be having whatever they want to call the surgery, because I want to like my body again 🤷🏽‍♀️
