Honestly 20s was so good. Young, skinny, care free, living life.

30s has been covid, bills, work stress, kids stress and now cost of living.

Yoheresthestory · 31/01/2025 20:10

Hard to choose. They’ve all been epic so far. Fab childhood like Enid blyton style countryside freedom. Teen years in boarding school which was so much fun. 20s lived abroad and worked in an amazing job. 30s moved home, married, bought gorgeous forever home, had 4 kids. 40s changed to an even better career I’m loving and we’re all travelling as a family loads.so grateful for how incredibly rich and full of experiences my life has been.

You’re so lucky to have had an amazing 20’s I wish I could say the same for myself but nope. Some parts were good but I wasn’t as carefree as you and now I’m struggling through a bad patch but I pray things get better for both of us

Much better. My 20s were awful. I’m definitely happier now I’m in my mid 30s.

20's were carefree, full of travel and fun times, no one to worry about, just so much fun! But always felt there was something missing. 30's filled that void with kids and setting down, but along with that came tough times, sleepless nights and responsibility. I'd still say I was happier in my 30's overall!

Goldenmemories · 31/01/2025 20:25

40s is better than both

User8050 · 31/01/2025 20:27

Yes 100%, 30's has been better so far. Two small kiddos, overwhelming responsibility & tired most of the time - but I've stopped waiting for life to be magical all on its own. Have made a conscious effort to romanticize the little things, and it's been beautiful.

coldcallerbaiter · 31/01/2025 20:28

They were both good but in different ways.

Loved my 30's!
Felt young but old enough to be taken seriously.
Really settled into myself.

Anonym00se · 31/01/2025 20:36

I wouldn’t swap my 40s for 20s/30s. My children are grown up, I have lots of free time to pursue hobbies and travels, the mortgage is paid off, I have a lot more money and since menopause I’ve lost every single fuck that I’d previously have given. I’m happy to give up my pert arse and small waist for all that!

Redcandlescandal · 31/01/2025 20:36

My twenties were wild and carefree, travelled loads and lived abroad.

Thirties were lovely baby years.

Forties were bloody awful. Marriage disintegrating around me.

Fifties have definitely been my best decade. I am full of confidence and have a lovely house, great job and being single is wonderful. I feel like I did in my twenties again, like there’s so many fabulous opportunities and life is great!

xRobin · 31/01/2025 20:38

I can’t quite compare yet as I’m early 30’s.
20’s were horrendous and full of so much death, anguish, rough shit times.
I did become a Mum though and she absolutely saved me from a mental breakdown to be honest.
I’m now early 30’s and much happier, more settled. Still a lot of room for improvement regarding happiness etc. but it gives me so much hope for the rest of my 30’s and into my 40’s.

researchers3 · 31/01/2025 20:40

The best bits of my 20s were very good. Better than tge best bits of my 30s.
But my 30s were probably better over all.
My 40s have largely been very tough and can F right off.

polkalfie · 31/01/2025 20:41

Um I've enjoyed both tbh. 20s I was having children, getting married, getting my career off the ground, 30s has been spent enjoying the groundwork of my 20s I guess! But not sure I could pick, 30s has been much more financially secure, more holidays and financial freedom, but 20s were an adventure and I was much more care free even with the responsibility I had from a young age. Both spent with my husband who I met young and who always has been, and continues to be, my best friend. Very lucky. Wouldn't change a thing.

LemonViewer · 31/01/2025 20:43

20's were hard for me. I made bad choices, both in friends, relationships and to an extent career. 30's were much better than 20s, I felt more sure of myself, and able to make better decisions and set boundaries. 40's so far has been the absolute best. Got a lovely husband, two gorgeous sons, and changed career to one I am absolutely loving, I also have my priorities where they need to be more than ever before

WinterFoxes · 31/01/2025 20:43

Way better. I met DH aged 20 and we married when I was 30. I switched careers to a job I love and am good at. I had DC, we bought a house. My twenties were penniless chaos and horrible men. I was hard work too. Meeting DH stabilised me.
