Makes me want to punch a wall.
That is all.

OK. I don’t mind it.

ODFOx · 21/01/2025 18:41

Why does it bother you so much?

ColinOfficeTrolley · 21/01/2025 18:41

I like it

ThisUsernameIsNowTaken · 21/01/2025 18:42

I've only ever seen it on MN. It's a dreadful phrase.

😂😂

Letstheriveranswer · 21/01/2025 18:43

Is that really the hill you want to die on?

cariadlet · 21/01/2025 18:45

I like it too.

I haven't listened to the Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo podcast for ages so I don't know if they're still doing this but at one time, they had a great little feature about The Smallest Hill I'm Prepared To Die On. That was always worth a listen.

SoScarletItWas · 21/01/2025 18:45

I don’t mind it. Better than the alternatives:

I'm not going to die in a ditch over it
or
I’m not getting bent out of shape over it

Tomatotater · 21/01/2025 18:46

I like it.

TheGhostOfTheYearYetToCome · 21/01/2025 18:46

I like it, and in life it is really important to consider what really is, and isn't, worth fighting for.

How about ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’?

Yes, I also agree with this

shortoedtreecreeper · 21/01/2025 18:48

I thought it was used quite a lot?

Topseyt123 · 21/01/2025 18:49

I think it's a lovely way of putting things. It's very clear what is meant too.

Is this a hill you really wish to die on? 😉

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 21/01/2025 18:49

It’s one of those expressions I have no strong feelings about either way.

Why don't you like it OP ?

I think it's quite a useful phrase.

Tryingtokeepgoing · 21/01/2025 18:59

I hate the phrase ‘punch a wall’ , but it’s not a hill I’m willing to die on…

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 21/01/2025 19:05

I like it. It's similar to choosing your battles.

JustMyView13 · 21/01/2025 19:05

I like it!
And I’ll flip it too - ‘and I am prepared to die on that hill’
